“Humanitarian” Bombings Kill at Least 40

As part of their humanitarian bombing efforts, the United States and its NATO partners have killed at least 40 innocent civilians in Tripoli. You might say that our wonderful President is loving these people to death.

ROME (Reuters) – At least 40 civilians have been killed in air strikes by Western forces on Tripoli, the top Vatican official in the Libyan capital told a Catholic news agency on Thursday, quoting witnesses. “The so-called humanitarian raids have killed dozens of civilian victims in some neighborhoods of Tripoli,” said Giovanni Innocenzo Martinelli, the Apostolic Vicar of Tripoli.

“I have collected several witness accounts from reliable people. In particular, in the Buslim neighborhood, due to the bombardments, a civilian building collapsed, causing the death of 40 people,” he told Fides, the news agency of the Vatican missionary arm.

Libyan officials have taken foreign reporters to the sites of what they say were the aftermath of Western air strikes on Tripoli but evidence of civilian casualties has been inconclusive.

Western powers say they have no confirmed evidence of civilian casualties from air strikes, which they have carried out under a U.N. mandate to protect civilians caught in conflict between Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi’s forces and rebels.

“It’s true that the bombardments seem pretty much on target, but it is also true that when they hit military targets, which are in the middle of civilian neighborhoods, the population is also involved,” Martinelli said.

“Yesterday I said that bombardments had hit, albeit indirectly, some hospitals. To be precise, one of these hospitals is in Mizda,” he said, mentioning a town about 145 km (90 miles) southwest of the capital.

Since Barack Obama has taken on the George Bush persona (less Congressional approval), it’s only fair that he receive the same treatment the left gave Bush43 for his “Cowboy Presidency.” Has Obama become Black Bart?

Humanitarian Bombing. Sure is a new form of ‘community organizing’ to me. Or is that community disorganizing???

Collateral Damage happens in every Kinetic Military Action….That being said, it will be interesting to see if the dopey left gives Barry as hard of a time over collateral damage that they gave to Bush…Will Obama be branded a “War Criminal” as Bush was by the loons for civilian casualties???? Considering that the main reason for this Humanitarian Kinetic Military Action was to save civilian lives……it seems like Obama is killing the civilians that Qadaffi couldn’t or wouldn’t kill……

Humanitarian Bombing sounds like the war version of abortion, as told by a liberal. Save them from their crappy lives under a dictator, save them from being born to a single mom who would rather keep on partying than be responsible for her child.

The two types of conservatives the left hates most are women and blacks. If Herman Cain becomes a serious candidate, watch the media launch an all-out attack.

#10 Oh for sure. He will be called “Uncle Tom” all day and night. He needs to attack that head on though. He needs to talk about plantation politics- though no one really knows more about that than Hillary “you know what I’m talkin bout” Clinton.

6 – You know none of that is likely to happen, we’ve already seen a collective double standard yawn from the afghan photo stuff, if it was under bush it would have been the lead story for the entire last week. Not much of a peep from the US press and tv LSM.

  11. 2011 March 31 11:06 am

10 – The MSM has already started trying to brand him, not listing him as “legitimate” candidate (in nbc\politico debate comments), yet they throw attention the Donald’s way, now that is a less than serious candidate if there is one at this point in time. Why? Donalds mouthing off about crap they’d love nothing more than harp on all day long while people like Cain are talking about issues the press would like nothing more than to steer clear of, and of course as you mention they sure don’t want to see a black guy on the GOP primary debate stage standing next to a fellow female gop candidate.

Yup, because it thwarts the identity politics of both Hillary AND Obama.

Do the guys get their 72 virgins or do you have to do something “noble” like kill 25 innocent children via a suicide bombing in the name of Alan to qualify?

What do the chicks get … an eternity of honor killings?

    Islam gets me so confused.

  18. 2011 March 31 12:06 pm

Those were not killings you see they were
unintentional kinetic collateral casualties resulting in life force displacement.

    KH –

There are those who believe that Donald Trump is keeping the “birther” issue alive as a favor to Obama and the Democrats to keep the focus off other issues.

“The Donald” is not amont the first 300 million people in the country I most trust.

There are conservatives on various websites talking about Trump as their favorite for the 2012 GOP nomination, but 14 months ago there were those pushing Scott Brown.

23 – Count me as one of those increasing suspicious of his motives, beyond just the PR stunt aspect I originally chocked him up too.

my comment from elsewhere this morning on trump:

“If he would at least stick to what he knows (or at least is perceived by the general public as knowing) and economic policy then, as much of a sideshow I think his purported candidacy is, it would at least be helpful as another highly visible voice attacking obama on solid ground.

As it stands pushing the BC issue and doing so in his bombastic style serves only to hurt him and the rest of the candidates should it continue through the spring. BTW I have a hard time believing trump just finally got clued in on the BC issue all of a sudden, and from what he’s said on the topic he’s not even that informed on the BC issue, let alone a few other issues he commented on. Even those who are still passionate on the issue should notice he’s not really not been doing them any favors.”

“There are conservatives on various websites talking about Trump as their favorite for the 2012 GOP nomination”

I’ve not seen that sentiment anywhere yet thankfully.

As if they don’t have enough to contend with already…

“At 12:21 this afternoon, a man in a propaganda truck drove up to the main gate of Fukushima Daiichi plant and demanded entry. The plant’s personnel refused, so the truck then drove to Daini (nuclear plant, 12 km away),” Hidehiko Nishiyama, deputy director-general of the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency, told a daily news briefing.

“Being refused entry at the main gate there, he went around to the western side gate, rammed it, and entered,” said Nishiyama, who looked surprised at the interest shown by reporters in the incident.

The man had driven around the area briefly before leaving. He was eventually caught two hours later after a police chase.

TBILISI, March 31 (Reuters) – Georgian police said they found three bombs outside government buildings in the ex-Soviet republic’s second-largest city on Thursday, and blamed Russia.

Pro-Western Georgia has often accused Russia of meddling in its affairs since the neighbours fought a five-day war in 2008 over the Moscow-backed breakaway region of South Ossetia.

The Interior Ministry said three people were arrested on suspicion of planting two bombs outside a municipal building and one outside a civil registry office in Kutaisi, 240 km (150 miles) west of the capital, Tbilisi.

“Those detained said they were ordered to put bombs outside government buildings in Kutaisi,” the Interior Ministry said in a statement. “They said that explosives were given to them by a Russian military officer.”

53 killed in al Qaeda in Iraq suicide assault in Tikrit
    By Bill RoggioMarch 29, 2011 3:22 PM

Al Qaeda in Iraq shattered several weeks of relative calm in the country with a massed suicide assault on the provincial council in Saddam Hussein’s hometown of Tikrit today. The attack appears to have been well planned and executed, based on the information currently available.

As Congress struggles to negotiate a budget deal to keep the government running, the head of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) told lawmakers Wednesday that the GOP version of the budget bill would result in the deaths of at least 70,000 children who depend on American food and health assistance around the world.

“We estimate, and I believe these are very conservative estimates, that H.R. 1 would lead to 70,000 kids dying,” USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah testified before the House Appropriations State and Foreign Ops subcommittee.
When we go completely kaput and fund any of these things at any level how many more will die by the same logic? How many will be here on united states soil? What a joke of a statement to make.
