Guess What?

Herman Cain made a little announcement today……

Friday evening in Council Bluffs, the Atlanta businessman announced his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012.
Cain spoke to a crowd of 200 people at Iowa Western Community College. His announcement was met with a standing ovation.

I am eagerly awaiting his official announcement tomorrow! The million dollar question is- will he announce before the rapture? I really don’t want to miss it!

    The objectivist website

I never thought of ourselves as “objectivist”. Perhaps the name BJG threw them off. Most here adhere to the free market limited gubmint scenario, but would eschew the randian objectivism label methinks.

    Obviously not enough though!

I would give up the child tax credit in a heart beat for a flat tax. And we responded to an article about GE. If someone reported on Bank of America’s taxes we would probably respond to that too if they made BILLIONS (or even millions) in profit and paid no taxes.

I’d rather be objectionist than a selective reporter who only includes the facts that make me right!

Cain is alfready being mocked by the Beltway elitists. Charles Krathammer called Cain’s candidacy “for entertainment purposes only.”

Only Beltway-approved candidates (e.g. Daniels, Romney, Huntsman and possible Pawlenty) need apply.

As a supposed “objectivist” I would have to remind all here, that corporations PAY NO TAX, and never have per se, as they are nothing but a conduit for collecting taxes from their customers and pass that along to the gubmint. Taxes are a cost of producing the goods or services, and are reflected in the price of that product.

Hence, any “tax” is bourne by the customer, not the corp.

    Excellent point IP.

I’m still stuck on the child tax credit commentary. If someone is having a kid to get a $1,000 annual tax credit, they lack the ability to do basic math. It costs way more than that to raise a kid.

This is just reflective of the nanny state. Libs think no body would do anything (buy a house, have a kid,…) without direction from the gov’t in the form of incentives.

I got up last night after taking Ambien. Could not sleep. I read that article at 3:am with a foggy mind. Didn’t know what an objectivist was then and still don’t; even sober.

Very true from the Beltway perspective. However it always seems to slip those bandits minds that it is votes that count. In the old way of thinking organization and money trumped votes. In the new way organization gets votes but it does not take a lot of money to derive the organization using social media methods.

I would also point out that in the early going, these same bandits were laughing at Obama. They all thought Hillary had it in the bag.

This is an even better side-by-side than the one of Obama hanging curtains next to Bush and Reagan chopping wood! Damn! Bibi was hot!

The effort by liberal media watchdog group Media Matters to convince half a dozen leading national advertisers to pull their dollars from the Fox News Channel got a high-profile snub Thursday when Orbitz, the travel company, not only declined to participate, but fired back at Media Matters, calling the “Drop Fox” campaign a “smear effort.”
    As Reynolds would say. Heh.
