We Declare

Part two (read part one here)

Long before Obama climbed through replicas of Greek columns to seat himself among the gods, long before Obama exercised use of the royal we, in his declaration “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for,” long before Obama claimed sovereign control over the levels of the seas, the United States was a superpower. From the end of World War II until 1989, when the Berlin Wall fell, we shared this status with the Soviet Union. Carter diminished the stature of the United States through his bungling of the energy crisis and the hostage taking in Iran.

Ronald Reagan set us back onto the path of glory. As noted his President Reagan’s Second Inaugural address,

“Americans have restored their confidence and tradition of progress; when our values of faith, family, work, and neighborhood were restated for a modern age; when our economy was finally freed from government’s grip; when we made sincere efforts at meaningful arms reduction, rebuilding our defenses, our economy, and developing new technologies, and helped preserve peace in a troubled world; when Americans courageously supported the struggle for liberty, self-government, and free enterprise throughout the world, and turned the tide of history away from totalitarian darkness and into the warm sunlight of human freedom.

My fellow citizens, our Nation is poised for greatness. We must do what we know is right and do it with all our might. Let history say of us, “These were golden years–when the American Revolution was reborn, when freedom gained new life, when America reached for her best.” .

Little could we have imagined that twenty five short years later we would look back with saddened memory to Reagan’s two terms as our own golden years. This sadness was ever present in the departing words of Outgoing Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates,

“I spent my entire adult life with the United States as a superpower, and one that had no compunction about spending what it took to sustain that position.”….. “That’s one of the many reasons it’s time for me to retire, because frankly I can’t imagine being part of a nation, part of a government … that’s being forced to dramatically scale back our engagement with the rest of the world.”

Who is scaling back the status of the United States as a superpower? Could it be that being the leader of the free world as President of the greatest nation on earth was insufficient glory for Obama? Did Obama view it necessary he diminish the United States that was before so that he would not have to stand with the Presidents that served before him or will, most hopefully very soon, serve after him?

The first steps towards Obama’s subjugation of the United States appeared during his apology tours. While Obama believes in his own greatness he does not believe in American exceptionalism.

Obama may view it befitting that he rule from a bigger, global stage and lacks appreciation that the United States as the world’s lone superpower was that stage. Could it be that Obama does not realize that through his own actions that diminished the United States he has also diminished the office he holds as leader of the free world, thereby making himself smaller? Obama has been shrinking in stature since January 20, 2009, and last week the “eat your peas” made him appear a very silly and small man.

Although silly and small, Obama still sits in the Oval Office. His failure of leadership appears so obivous these last weeks and months as he has failed to provide any specifics with regard to spending cuts and the budget ceiling, nor has he negotiated in good faith, and yet he stands before the cameras cajoling those who have been leading to do the very tasks that only he has failed to do. Or, as Shakespeare so aptly wrote… He jests at scars thar never felt a wound.

Obama’s failure to deal in a bi-partisan, serious manner regarding the debt ceiling, and more specifically Obama’s failure to bridle and cut his out of control spending may ultimately lead to default on the United States debt, and in so doing frastically reduce the United States on that global stage and subjugate our economy to these rest of the world.

While the immediate dangers of his Libyan debacle, Obama’s Executive Orders, and his usurpation of Congressional powers are easily assessed, the impact of Obama’s subrogated and diminished United States will echo through decades, if not centuries.

At present we explore in detail our grievance that “He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation”

Count One — Article One, Section Eight of the US Constitution enumerates the duties, authorities, and responsibilities of Congress. Congress passed the War Powers Act in 1973 which provides that the President must seek approval from Congress after 60 days of military engagement. Obama engaged the US military in the Libyan civil war. Obama failed to seek the authority of Congress under the War Powers Act going so far as to declare that the War Powers Act did not apply. Instead, of obtaining the approval of the US Congress, Obama placed the US military under the authority of the United Nations.

As noted by Jeb Babbin in American Spectator,

The Libyan operation, as Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI) said on yesterday’s Fox News Sunday, is not about protecting American interests. This is about Obama’s desire to subordinate American power to the “international community.” He was maneuvered into this action by the Europeans, the Arab League, and the ladies on his national security team led by Hillary Clinton……

Obama’s decision to use military force in Libya was wrong, and it compounds his — and his predecessor’s — mistakes in the war the terror-sponsors wage against us. We have entered a fight at the UN’s behest. Will Obama await UN approval to withdraw our forces? Will he commit our forces to an endless UN “peacekeeping” operation there? We — and the terror sponsors in Tehran, Damascus, and elsewhere — eagerly await his answer.

Obama’s actions in Libya are clear indication of Obama’s circumvention of US law and a loyalty to the United Nations. In fact, as noted by Terry Hurlbut, Obama revealed this attitude in his speech to the British Parliament. Furthermore, while Obama did not obtain Congressional approval for involvement in the Libyan civil war, Obama did seek UN approval.

Count Two — In his December 17, 2009 Executive Order Amending Ronald Reagan’s Executive Order 12425 Obama granted INTERPOL full diplomatic immunity. President Bush previously rejected this revision. Obama’s amendment removes the limitations place upon INTERPOL when it was recognized as an international organization. By removing these restrictions, INTERPOL’s property and assets cannot be searched and its documents are outside the reach of FOIA –(Freedom of Information Act).

INTERPOL’s central operations office in the United States is within our own Justice Department offices. That’s right, Eric Holder’s DOJ contains the offices of an agency immune from the limitations placed upon law enforcement agencies by our Constitutional Rights. The same Eric Holder who has been running guns into Mexico and refusing to protect the Civil Rights of the citizens with melanin deficiencies.

Count Three — During the bankruptcy of GM and Chrysler, Obama’s administration exercised the most ”egregious lawlessness and corruption of the bankruptcy process.” “Under the bankruptcy plans Obama structured, the federal government and the UAW are rewarded with huge stakes in the company while the bond holders get back a fraction of what they invested into the company” link.

“To please the United Auto Workers union, the president hacked away at a key cornerstone of markets: respect for centuries’ worth of precedent in bankruptcy law.”

.

These moves resulted in Obama disrupting the stability of the financial markets.

Now Obama demands that banks and businesses pour money into the economy. What prudent investor would dare risking their money investing in any business when, at any moment, Obama can swoop in and turn their investments over to his favored supporters?

The travesty continues as Obama’s justice department argued against Chrysler creditors, specifically an employee pension fund, contending the creditors can’t show injury to their interests. Under the bankruptcy plans Obama structured, the federal government and the UAW are rewarded with huge stakes in the company while the bond holders get back a fraction of what they invested into the company.

Count Four— Obama opened the United States up to UNHRC Universal Public Reviews, which were shunned by Bush for being anti-Israel. More here. Obama’s administration submitted a report to the UNHRC. read here. Think it doesn’t matter, well read here

Although the Clinton administration did not make the United States a party to the ICC it did support the treaty while ignoring the clear Constitutional prohibitions.

In 1803 Thomas Jefferson defended the supremacy of the U.S. Constitution over treaties when he wrote, “Our particular security is in possession of a written Constitution. Let us not make it a blank paper by construction. I say the same as to the opinion of those who consider the grant of the treaty making power as boundless. If it is, then we have no Constitution.” …… there is nothing in [the Constitution’s] language which intimates that treaties do not have to comply with the provisions of the Constitution. Nor is there anything in the debates which accompanied the drafting and ratification of the Constitution which even suggests such a result. . . . It would be manifestly contrary to the objectives of those who created the Constitution, as well as those who were responsible for the Bill of Rights–let alone alien to our entire constitutional history and tradition–to construe Article VI [re treaties] as permitting the United States to exercise power under an international agreement without observing constitutional prohibitions. In effect, such construction would permit amendment of that document in a manner not sanctioned by Article V [re the amendment process]

What would stop Obama, who has no respect for the Constitution, from submitting the United States to the ICC?

Count Five — Obama’s EPA violated its constitutional authority in establishing its regulations regarding green house gases. read more

In what world would the American people consent to $76 trillion more in government spending and debt to enact Obama’s Climate Change Executive Orders?

Count Six Article II section 2 of the U.S. Constitution states that:

“
the President shall nominate, an by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the Supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law.”

Obama has appointed 42 czars. Obama’s most recent czar, who was granted a budget of $400 million, according to Judicial Watch, is the most “striking example of Obama’s abuse of office, his contempt for Congress, and his disrespect for our republican form of government.”

These czars act outside the control of the citizens’ representatives, our Congress. The citizens have no control, no means of removing these czars, and it is unclear the extent to which these czars actions control our governance. Obama is the face of tyranny and he has surrounded himself with 42 additional tyrants who are as removed from our consent as was the British Parliament from the colonists.

Obama should be impeached? Most certainly, Obama’s on-going, relentless, systematic dismantling of the United States Constitution and subrogation of the citizens of the United States to the foreign jurisdiction of other entities is TREASON.

Splendiforous, Judy, your article about The Resident spendiforous habits will ruin this great country. The Republicans (Tea Party) need to stand firm and stop the locomotive from falling into the abyss.

Your article exposes The Resident better than any of the crap we hear and read in our Major media.

Thank you all… I can’ t tell you how angry it made me to research and write … and there were many other examples of how Obama commits TREASON upon the American people. What aggravates me most is that for over 8 years DC was covered with the crackpots and moonbats screaming for the heads of Bush and Cheney for actions taken to protect the American people…. and now they are all silent while this regime dismantles this country.

My heart breaks for all of those people who struggled to leave socialist/communist countries and tin pot dictatorships to come to America only to watch the clueless of our society toss away our freedom for this affirmative action narcissist.

Fellow Conservatives, let your reps hear from us often about the abuses of Barry Hussein.
Demand that they stand firm against tax hikes and insist that we make serious cuts in our deficit. Under this president we are adding $4.1 Billion a day to our national debt which is outrageous! Under Bush it was bad enough, adding $1.6 Billion a day to our debt. Our Congress must reduce our spending way below those numbers.
It would be better, much better in fact not to raise the debt ceiling than to make cuts in name only.

Judy, this president is a traitor, therefore his orders are Unlawful, and anyone who obeys such an unlawful order is actually an accomplice to the treasonous acts of President Hussein. Great post

Great article judy! He should be impeached, and yet because he gets away with these actions, he is only more emboldened to believe he is above our Constitution. The question that keeps me awake at night: Will so many Americans be stupid enough to vote for this man again? *sigh*

O/T, the press’ Norwegian wet dream begins.

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43854355/ns/world_news-europe/

This is the title and story line:
At least 84 dead in Norway youth camp attack
Premier says ‘my youth paradise’ has turned into ‘hell’; police say suspect’s website indicates he was a right-wing, Christian fundamentalist

This is the first sentence of the story (although they got it in the first 5 words):
OSLO, Norway — A suspected right-wing Christian gunman in police uniform killed at least 84 people in a ferocious attack on a youth summer camp of Norway’s ruling Labour party, hours after a bomb killed seven in Oslo.

    http://www.nctimes.com/news/local/escondido/article_969c39e2-a5ad-5460-abcd-2af0cb607e87.html

REGION: Illegal immigrant with 16 crossings never prosecuted for entering U.S.

In the last four years, Jose Vigil Carbajal has been sent back to his native Mexico 16 times.
    (snip)
But despite that high number of removals, it appears Carbajal has never faced federal charges for repeatedly crossing the border illegally.

“While Mr. Carbajal has multiple prior immigration arrests, after thoroughly reviewing the details of this case, ERO (Enforcement and Removal Operations) officers determined that administrative enforcement action was the most appropriate use of ICE’s resources at this time,” Mack said.

Essentially, the agency decided it was better to remove him from the country than recommend him for federal prosecution. Oftentimes, criminal prosecution is reserved for people with a more violent or egregious criminal history than Carbajal’s.

Carbajal’s record includes four arrests for drunken driving, two arrests for driving with a suspended license and one arrest for hit-and-run, Escondido police Lt. Craig Carter said.

Earlier this week, Escondido police announced they had arrested Carbajal for a traffic stop, and noted that this was the third time they had arrested him since November. Following his two previous arrests —- one for a traffic violation and one for disturbing the peace while attending a party — he was sent back to Mexico.

Federal officials “have made it clear” that only serious and violent felons are prosecuted for repeated entries, said Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the Federation of American Immigration Reform, a Washington-based group that favors strict immigration enforcement measures.

Hmmm. That would be a very interesting stance. Declare your predecessor’s action null and void on the basis that it has violated the Constitution in the whole. Then stand back and see if Congress has the nads to say no.
