Who Do You Work For SuckYa?

2011 August 5

Well now, American Federation of Teachers, aka AFT is caught with their hands in the taxpayers wallet — again.

The report, titled “How Connecticut Defused the Parent Trigger,” was replaced on AFT’s website with a note saying “we have received complaints about these materials and have removed them because they do not represent AFT’s position.”

Education activist RiShawn Biddle copied the report before it was removed from the AFT website. The report describes in detail AFT’s strategy for subverting school reform legislation in Connecticut, a strategy that relied greatly on deceiving legislators and interested parents.

The Parent Trigger proposal originated in California and was adopted by education reformers in Connecticut last year. The proposal empowers a majority of parents with children attending a persistently failing school to force education officials to either close it, convert it to a charter school or replace its staff.

The union was blindsided when thousands of minority parents thronged in the Connecticut capitol to support the measure. Many of them expressed concern that their state’s public schools posted the biggest gap in the country on standardized test scores between minority and Caucasian students.

And for your Lying Eyes.

Yes Dear Reader, the will of the people to gather together to better the environment for their children are being thwarted for the all mighty union buck. Are you surprised?

The Labor Dept. gave Obama his best gift this morning…a VERY well baked and frosted unemployment rate.

Given the massive layoffs in July, the basically unchanged weekly unemployment claims rate, and the other terrible economic indicators last month, I think this 9.1% rate looks VERY suspicious.

But hey, they can always “adjust” it next month.

First off, there was nothing to see. Since the perps were black, they were just exercizing their First Amendment rights. Had whites been attacking blacks, it would be a hate crime and Eric Holder would have half of the FBI in Milwaukee.

VERY stupidly…apparently some of the racist white people RESISTED being beaten. This could have led to injury to one of the black “youths” that were beating them.

Remember folks, as you’re being beaten senseless: you DESERVE it for owning slaves…or something.

quick add: it’s interesting that the police say (essentially) “nothing happened”…while the State Fair people are apologizing their asses off for what DID happen.

For the umpty-billionth time, I DO NOT CARE what color, creed, religion, or ethnic background someone is. But if THEY care about my “color, creed, religion, or ethnic background” then all bets are off.

I think you are right. The numbers might not quite be there `officially`. But the unofficial numbers are starting to nip at numbers from the `20’s. The crash that hit wall street had been proceeded by a full year by farm closures and general distress in the populace.

“”It is impossible to govern the world without God and the Bible. Of all the dispositions and habits that lead to political prosperity, our religion and morality are the indispensable supporters. Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that our national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”

during the Bush Administration every bit of good news was greeted with an ominous: “But there are storm clouds on the horizon” (and if they could have had spooky music play at that point they would have). When unemployment was 5.5% (FIVE-point-FIVE!) one of the alphabet “News” orgs ran a special on the topic: “Are we already in a depression?” (not the title…I’ll try to find it). They asked people and economists if THEY thought and/or felt like we were in a “Depression”. This was at FIVE 1/2 PERCENT unemployment!

today, despite all the horrible economic news all month, and based solely on the unemployment TICKING down .1%, the headline reads: Why a new recession seems unlikely

p.s. last month, and the month before unemployment “TICKED UP” .1% (each month). Today? Today unemployment “DROPPED” (no ticking THIS time).

Look, I WANT the economy to do well…for me, my kids and grandkids. But I also want a level playing field with the media and the government. Not gonna happen.

On to more important things. Here’s a partial list of attendees at Obama’s birthday party last night.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s former Chief of Staff, was also at the party. END UPDATE

From Kohan’s article: “Stevie Wonder gave a “surprise” performance during the celebration; his hit “You and I” was the President and First Lady Obama’s wedding song. Revelers included Jay Z; Tom Hanks; Chris Rock; hoops legends Charles Barkley and Grant Hill; Whoopi Goldberg; Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith; and actor Hill Harper. He’s one of the President’s closest chums from Harvard law school, and star of CSI: NY. Jazz great Herbie Hancock and his ensemble played; R & B singer Ledisi dazzled the crowd.

“The night was balmy, and when dinner was done, a DJ spun dance tunes–“like at a Bar Mitzvah,” said one guest. The twenty tables for ten in the Rose Garden were pushed aside so guests could dance, led by the President and Mrs. Obama.

“…Also on hand to mark the Presidential milestone were former governors Bill Richardson and Tim Kaine, and Mr. Obama’s staunchest allies in the debt battle–Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. Senior White House staff also celebrated: Chief of Staff Bill Daley, Cecelia Munoz, John Brennan, and Valerie Jarrett. Mrs. Obama’s former Chief of Staff, Susan Sher, flew in from Chicago, as did two of the President’s closest pals: Dr. Eric Whitaker, University of Chicago Hospital Vice-President, and The Parking Spot President and CEO Marty Nesbitt. Campaign fundraiser Andy Spahn was spotted, too.”
