The Camel’s Nose

2012 February 9
by justrand

The tale of ‘The Camel’s Nose’ is cautionary tale that has become a metaphor for the subtle erosion of principles and freedoms. Once you allow the camel to get his nose inside the tent, it is only a matter of time before the whole camel is inside…and there’s no room left for you!

Obama’s assault on the Catholic Church is a Camel’s Nose approach to shackling and controlling religious (read: Judeo-Christian) beliefs and principles.

An incestuous cabal of atheists, Death Eaters (abortion fanatics), Democrat opportunists (Barbara Boxer, Nancy Piglosi, et al), and other far Left kooks realize the issue of forcing the Catholic Church to offer three key “services” will get the camel’s nose firmly in the tent…and provide the means to get the rest of the camel inside very quickly!

Notice that the Left/media is focusing on ONE “service”: contraception. It is ubiquitous…literally. EVERY drugstore, supermarket and convenience store has racks and racks of condoms…making “contraception” so pervasive, that objecting to it on any level seems archaic. And that is EXACTLY how the Obama Regime wants to paint the Catholic Church.

The other two “services” are NOT ubiquitous…yet. “Sterilization” and “Abortion drugs” do not (yet) have their own aisle in the supermarket…for they are NOT pervasive and widely accepted.

That’s why you are ONLY hearing about “Contraception” in the news right now…and why everybody who believes in our 1st Amendment right to freedom OF religion, be they of faith or not, should be screaming about the other two!

If the camel’s get his nose inside the tent on the issue of forcing the Catholic Church to provide “Contraception”, then “Sterilization” and “Abortion” come with it. They are intentionally linked.

And if the Catholic Church can be forced to provide abortions…even just “morning after” abortions…then the rest of the camel will be inside the tent almost immediately. And the REST of the camel consists of this: ALL Jewish and Christian organizations of any kind will be under the control of the Federal government…and our freedom OF religion will be outside the tent!

The tale of Camel’s Nose…for those who might not know it:

One cold night, as an Arab sat in his tent, a camel gently thrust his nose under the flap and looked in. “Master,” he said, “let me put my nose in your tent. It’s cold and stormy out here.” “By all means,” said the Arab, “and welcome” as he turned over and went to sleep.

A little later the Arab awoke to find that the camel had not only put his nose in the tent but his head and neck also. The camel, who had been turning his head from side to side, said, “I will take but little more room if I place my forelegs within the tent. It is difficult standing out here.” “Yes, you may put your forelegs within,” said the Arab, moving a little to make room, for the tent was small.

Finally, the camel said, “May I not stand wholly inside? I keep the tent open by standing as I do.” “Yes, yes,” said the Arab. “Come wholly inside. Perhaps it will be better for both of us.” So the camel crowded in. The Arab with difficulty in the crowded quarters again went to sleep. When he woke up the next time, he was outside in the cold and the camel had the tent to himself.

    JR –

Interesting point about condoms being openly displayed in supermarkets. Thirty years ago people had to ask the pharmacist if they wanted to purchase a condom (and they usually did so when no one else was around).

It was announced earlier this week that students at Shippensburg University, a state college in Pennsylvania, can purchase the “morning after pill” from a vending machine.

    http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504763_162-57372722-10391704/morning-after-pills-sold-in-shippensburg-university-vending-machine/

Far more than the camel’s nose is inside the tent today.

if I seem like I’m focusing a lot on this issue, that’s because I AM!

This is a critical issue for our nation…maybe THE critical issue.

If the Catholic Church can be forced to provide abortion-inducing drugs, then they are “performing” abortions…albeit via drugs versus medical procedure. And THAT is the “Camel’s Nose”.

Once the moral and ethical wall is breached, there will be nothing to prevent its complete erosion. Abortion-inducing drugs will be THE wedge to force Catholic hospitals to provide full abortions…and so on.

And once the Federal government can command that kind of control over the Catholic Church…THE largest religious institution in our country…there will nothing to stop the rest of us being steamrolled.

IP…I would agree with you EXCEPT: the media is in full-on damage control. Even FoxNews refers to this issue as about: “Contraception”. The average person hears that and thinks: “What’s the big deal about contraception??

The Obama Regime COULD have de-coupled STERILIZATION and ABORTION-inducing drugs from this, and made a “deal” with the Catholic Church…and refused to do so. They NEED those two things to come along with it.

Somewhat related but quite a nice way to pit Libs against themselves. First read this article from HuffPo — http://www.huffingtonpost.com/susan-kim/birth-control-water-and-w_b_385532.html

Now here is the scheme. We need to build a body of evidence that use of the Pill is harming the environment. Does not have to be true. Need to foster the building of a consensus on a level with the faux climate change mantra. Get Sierra Club all in a lather. With the drum beat is at a crescendo lobbyists hit Congress to eliminate it thru HHS. I mean LIbs, you pass ObamaCare to control us. Well then do so!

While searching I also came across other info on Romney. I missed this during 2008.

    Deroy Murdock 01/07/2008
    J. Cofer Black Should Make Voters See Red

    J. Cofer Black is GOP presidential candidate Willard Mitt Romney’s chief weapon against Islamo-fascism. The former CIA official chairs Romney’s Counter-Terrorism Policy Advisory Group. Also, the 9/11 Commission, the Congressional Joint Inquiry on 9/11, and the CIA’s Inspector General all condemn him for dropping the ball before September 11. Black’s spot in Romney’s brain trust raises grave doubts about the former Massachusetts governor’s national-security judgment.

At CNN/YouTube’s November 28 debate, Romney said that when pondering terrorist interrogation, “I get that advice from Cofer Black, who is a person who was responsible for counterterrorism in the CIA for some 35 years.” Actually, this is false. Black served the CIA for 28 years and directed its Counterterrorist Center (CTC) for less than three — from June 1999 to May 2002….

The CIA declassified Helgerson’s 2005 report last August 21, confirming that the Inspector General recommended at least six times that the former CTC chief and others face an accountability board for financial mismanagement, poor coordination, incoherent leadership, and more. In one episode, when NSA invited the CIA to examine transcripts of terrorist intercepts, “CTC sent one officer to NSA for a brief period of time in 2000, but failed to send others, citing resource constraints.”

Romney elevated Black to run his counter-terror advisory board. Despite deep, declassified dismay with Black’s pre-September 11 tenure, it’s been onward and upward for Black on Team Romney.

Black is again on Romney’s team, 10/06/2011
Romney assembles campaign’s foreign policy team

The advisers include Michael Hayden, who directed the CIA from 2006 until 2009 and led the National Security Agency before that; former Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff; and former State Department Counterterrorism Coordinator J. Cofer Black. Black also directed the CIA’s counter-terrorism center from 1999-2002, when the Sept. 11 attacks occurred.

    MIC:

How has Romney explained the difference between then and now?

By excusing his actions because he was dealing with the MA legislature? Anything else? Other than getting NRO & others to swear he’s a conservative?

We heard him espouse liberal economic policies–safety net and minimum wage. Don’t forget that Club For Growth had this on Romney:

Since Romney left the governor’s mansion, he has taken several notable positions on major spending issues. He was opposed to the Democrats’ stimulus program, but he qualified his opposition by strangely complimenting it. In his book No Apology, he wrote, “The ‘all-Democrat’ stimulus that was passed in early 2009 will accelerate the timing of the start of the recovery, but not as much as it could have had it included genuine tax- and job-generating incentives.”[emphasis added] Such a comment suggests that Romney, on some level, supports discredited Keynesian economics.

A few months before the financial crisis hit in 2008, Romney was already advocating big government solutions. He supported lowering the down payment requirement for “nonprime” borrowers, allowing the Federal Housing Administration to help them acquire a house. He also supported raising the maximum loan amount eligible for FHA insurance so that more people can be served in high-priced areas.

Months later, Romney publicly supported the Wall Street bailout, saying, “I believe that it was necessary to prevent a cascade of bank collapses.” When the auto bailout was being considered, Romney stated his opposition in a New York Times op-ed with the headline, “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt.” But this is misleading because he wasn’t 100% opposed to government intervention. He wrote, “It is not wrong to ask for government help, but the automakers should come up with a win-win proposition.”

While there are a few minor obstacles (citizenship, minimum age and English fluency) that still need to be worked out, I am pursuing the possibliity of Miss Ukraine running on the Republican ticket against Debbie Stabenow (aka SpendItNow) for the U.S. Senate. Maybe we can get Meijer to run a huge sale so only men will show up at the polls.

In case you have forgotten Miss Ukraine ….

    BC,
I am sorry to report that Mis Ukraine, Olesya Stefanko is 23. The minimum age to sit as a senator is 30. Though I am happy to report she meets all the other qualifications and them some.

I gotta stop this. I am becoming BC’s reality cherub. 🙂

Chernobyl is located in the Ukraine. If Olesya is the product of the fall out we need more frickin’ disasters like that.

In fact, we should line up the entire stock of Democratic women in congress there. Start with Pelosi! I use the word STOCK as in cows.

An elderly man had a massive heart attack and the family drove him to the emergency room.

After a while the ER doctor appeared wearing a long face.

“Oh, Dear God,” cried his wife,

“We’ve never had a liberal in the family before!”

WASHINGTON, Feb. 8, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ — The United Methodist General Board of Church and Society, along with the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, which includes the Episcopal Church, Presbyterian Church (USA) and United Church of Christ, have stunningly endorsed Obamacare’s mandate that all religious hospitals and charities must provide insurance coverage for contraceptives, abortifacients, and sterilization, despite religious objections.

In contrast, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, National Association of Evangelicals, Southern Baptist and Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod leaders and others have condemned the mandate as an assault on religious liberty. Megachurch pastor Rick Warren has declared: “I’d go to jail rather than cave in to a government mandate that violates what God commands us to do.”
