The Price of Freedom
If I had a nickel for every story I’ve read about someone who is addicted to hard drugs (crack, heroin, or methamphetamine, etc) going out and selling their body to put themselves through college…well, I wouldn’t have a nickel, now would I?
Because addicts don’t prostitute themselves and/or rob (and kill) people for money in order to better their situation…they do so in order to BUY MORE DRUGS!
So when our Crack-Whore Federal Government (with apologies to hard working crack-whores) says they want to “raise revenues” (aka: “Taxes”)…they’re not doing so in order to pay down the debt and relieve some of the burden hanging over all our heads. Nope! They want more revenue to buy more “drugs”…aka: VOTES! Votes that will keep them in power, and give them power over you and me!
And anyone who suggests that our Crack Whore Federal Government seek help for their addiction to our money is immediately assaulted as a fiscal Hannibal Lector!
Case in point…Paul Ryan proposed, and the House passed, a budget last week. This budget spends MORE in 2012 and 2013, and increases spending by one TRILLION dollars over the next decade. Spends more…increases spending. Clear?
Here are some of the titles of articles talking about the Paul Ryan budget:
- “Paul Ryan’s Savage Spending Cuts” – Jonathan Alter, Bloomberg
- “Paul Ryan’s budget would Slash $6 trillion” – Politico
- “House approves Ryan budget plan to cut spending” – WaPo
- ”Radical Cuts in Ryan Budget”…”Cruel Cuts to Entitlements” – multiple media outlets (simultaneously)
Huh? Again, the proposed and passed budget spends MORE on Entitlements in 2012 and 2013…and INCREASES spending over the next decade. Yet these are “Savage Spending Cuts”??
Only our Crack Whore Federal Government (and its sycophant media) would describe MORE spending as SLASHING spending. That’s because they want MORE “crack, heroine, and methamphetamine” (aka: TAXES!), and the only way to justify MORE taxes is to spend MORE…and accelerate spending faster than Paul Ryan is proposing to accelerate it. Thus spending MORE money at a SLOWER pace is, in Washington speak: “SLASHING spending!”
We cannot remain free, unless we truly understand how our government operates…and we are clear on what the words and actions of our politicians and media mean. There are a lot of books that can help clear up any lingering confusion you have…but one in particular comes to mind. A paperback copy will cost you about $6 at any bookstore. Thus six bucks becomes this week’s Price of Freedom…six bucks for a copy of ‘Alice in Wonderland’. Enjoy!
