Reagan Vindicated

Remember SDI? That Reagan `smart pebbles` concept that was used to bring the Russians to Reykjavik? The Dims pooh-pooed it then as not workable.

Roll forward 30 years and a world away and you have Israel implementing their own version of SDI. One to deal with the Hamas Gaza threat a second intermediate range to deal with Iran. They may not have a fool proof system but dealing with 80% ain’t bad.

I also note that the systems in the video all appear to be portable. At least the radar array certainly is. Think Iron Dome deployed in Saudi Arabia and the both countries might be capable of hitting the rockets in boost phase.

Unlike the currect dictator-in-chef, Reagan wasnt a sociopath:

    http://personalliberty.com/2012/11/26/sociopaths/

“Sociopaths are masters at turning one group of people against another group while proclaiming themselves to be the one true savior. Wherever they go, they create strife, argument and hatred. You cannot reason with a sociopath.

A sociopath will usually have a small group of cult-like followers who believe their fictional tales. They invent bizarre tales, never answer facts and always attack the messenger.

Sociopaths love big government and they are attracted to government and politics. They see a lot there to manipulate and steal. This is very easy to see in the way they set themselves up with special privilege and government benefits.

As sociopaths have no substance, they are attracted to and lovers of fiat money systems. Fiat allows them to play “Santa Claus” and dole out special perks and privileges to select constituencies, seemingly without consequences. But the consequences are long-term destruction for short-term gain. They get away with it because the masses and the media have short attention spans.

In his most recent commentary, Shadowstats.com’s John Williams describes the destruction wrought by the sociopaths. Where once Williams predicted a hyperinflationary depression beginning by 2019, he has since shortened the outer timeline to 2014, with 90 percent certainty — 40 percent certainty by the end of 2013.”

Not to mention the magic-wand follow on system that should increase it’s accuracy significantly . (though it’ll use a network of nation wide stationary radar systems)

    SAD BUT TRUE!

Do you know what happened 161 years ago this fall… Back in 1851?

    California became a state.
    The people had no electricity.
    The state had no money.
    Almost everyone spoke Spanish.
There were gunfights in the streets.
So basically nothing has changed except then the women had real tits and the men didn’t hold hands.

drdog – re: the OP, how is their system different from what is over in Eastern Europe/Poland as far as the European Missile Defense System that Putin/Medvedev wants to “talk over” with Zero?

Wait . . . (doing research) . . . . . never mind. Different ball of wax. Russia wants to be assured that the U.S involvement with NATO in the missile defense system will not ultimately be used against Russia – and they want it in writing in a legally binding document. The U.S. is saying “You’ve got our word – but no document.” Most likely in line with Reagan – although I still think the Gipper wouldn’t trust ’em as far as he could throw ’em.

    Waiting for a co-signing from zero and the KGB Bros. in 5 . . 4 . . 3 . .

Amazing that they are still dickering about the missile defense system some three years later.

[later] Deckard I am going to assume you are right in your observation. Here’s the `American’s being stupid again` piece. Bush as I recall offered the Russians the plans and assistance so they too could build a complimentary system to thwart the Iranians. Can’t get a much better assurance than that.

    RP –

    Welcome back.

You’re right about the GOP. Getting two retiring senators to co-sponsor the GOP version of the DREAM Act is about as gutless as you can get. When I get solicitations from the GOP I am going to start sending back nasty notes in the postage-paid envelopes rather than simply tossing them.

The issue is not Rice in this political game. But you should never set yourself up to permit inquiry which is what Rice’s potential confirmation hearing would become.

With $10 billion spent on entitlements to illegal aliens, every man, woman and child living in Kalifornia is taxed $270 a year just for illegals. That’s over $1,100 for a family of four, but since many of the 38 million pay little or no taxes ….

Boy, do I ever wish I lived in Kalifornia!

The people (elected officials & voters who voted for it) that caused Detroit should be eliminated from the gene pool. People say you can not fix stupid – I say you can – the 223 solution.

Problem with Detroit and like places (Gary Indiana, Cleveland Ohio, Oakland Ca) is that the idiots that caused it move to another location and repeat the process. Reminds me of the line from the Matrix where the human race is compared to a parasite. So true of Democrats & their voters.

We either need a divorce or a civil war to resolve this once and for all.

Most of the people responsible for transforming Detroit from a dynamic city to a third world hellhole are on the other side of the grass. Kuchinich is still alive and his current wife is young enough that he could still procreate (with a double shot of Viagra and a Cialis chaser). Another midget with an IQ of 40 – scary thought!

“Actually the above Republican boilerplate is correct if one wants to preserve the present Demopublican system. But we at AMERICANS FOR A FREE REPUBLIC don’t want to “preserve” the present system. We want to destroy it – for the same reason one wants to destroy smog and mendacity and slavery.

Today’s political system is a corrupt monopoly, and it has to be broken. Thus the title of our book, Breaking the Demopublican Monopoly. But one cannot do this by joining the system and trying to reform it “from within.”

That’s like trying to reform the Mafia by joining their organization and reasoning with them to give up their criminal ways. Their criminality is their livelihood, and they would no more abandon it than wolves would abandon the attacking of deer.

The Mafia can only be fought from without.

And likewise Demopublican statism can only be reformed from without.”

“The number of people filing for unemployment benefits for the first time declined last week, a sign that the impact of Hurricane Sandy on jobs is starting to wane.

The Labor Department reported that 393,000 filed for initial jobless claims during the week, down from the 416,000 who sought help the previous weeks. ” — CNN

Good grief! Employment should be thru the roof (literally) in NC, MD, NJ, NY due to Sandy. At least in the building trades as people attempt to get their lives back in order.
