Help me Rhonda…or rather, Obama!

Romney was roundly criticized for stating that people would vote for Obama because he was promising (implicitly and explicitly) them “stuff”.   Well, the Detroit City Council certainly intends to elbow their way to the front of the line…the line that it was RACIST! to even talk about.

Detroit City Council member JoAnn Watson said Tuesday the citizens support of Obama in last month’s election was enough reason for the president to bailout the struggling the city:  “Our people in an overwhelming way supported the re-election of this president and there ought to be a quid pro quo and you [the Mayor] ought to exercise leadership on that“…”After the election of Jimmy Carter, the honorable Coleman Alexander Young, he went to Washington, D.C. and came home with some bacon. That’s what you do.”

Hey Obama, we need more money to piss away!  [hattip Drudge]

A reminder what non-stop Democrat rule does to a place…

linked from the YahooFinance page is an article from Reuters titled: “Obama to stress need to raise debt limit “without drama”

Right smack dab in the middle of what is purported to be a HARD NEWS story about Finance is this paragraph:
It was the reluctance of congressional Republicans to agree to such an increase in 2011 without deep spending cuts that brought the nation to the brink of default. The result was a historic lowering of the U.S. credit rating and a setback to the recovery from a recession that ended in 2009.

That paragraph is not a quote from someone else…it is the author of the “Hard News” article injecting THEIR opinion into the piece. This gets tiresome…but it needs to be stated over and over. This Reuters article will be picked up by thousands of small media outlets, and innocently (or not) printed and re-printed in their Finance sections.

THIS is the real legacy of the Leftist media…they dribble propaganda into otherwise innocent articles…EVERY DAY and EVERY WAY. It gets tiresome to keep pointing it out.

JR, there is a saving grace — the author wasted his time. Only 2% of their readership would even glance at the column. The other 98% will be slathering over the Fashion and Style section Oooohing over Lady GaGa’s latest frock.

This is the expectation of third-world Detroit residents, and unfortunately the mindset of the Obama administration. These cesspools of urban spoilage will not benefit from a bailout because the conditions that caused the decline will not change, and the money will disappear into corruption.

I say let them set it on fire.

Mullet, there is a close approximation to your wish. One Mich. state senator has suggested just dissolving the city of Detroit. Not quite as spectacular as a fire but it will do.

One of my girlfriends is posting lots of old pictures of Los Angeles at Christmastime on her FB page. Side by side- her pics, and pics of those same spots today, would look a lot like the Detroit pics on this thread. SO sad.

Is there anything OJ Simpson, Rae Carruth, Javon Belcher, the residents of Detroit and the residents of the South Side of Chicago have in common? Ah, nothing that I can think of. Sarc.

The 1967 riot was a turning point for the city of Detroit. The city went from being approximately 60% white prior to the riot to a majority black city in the span of about five years. Nice neighborhoods turned to slums and the city’s schools went from being decent (and in some cases very good) to becoming one of the worst in the country. The Detroit riot coincided with LBJ’s “Great Society,” which was the beginning of the end of the black family unit.

Highland Park, a suburb surrounded by Detroit, was a Look All-American City and its public schools were rated the best in the state. Now the city is in ruins and bankruptcy. About eight years ago they had the state regional wrestling championships at Highland Park High School. The school was locked down with the wrestlers and fans inside by the sheriff’s department because there was a gangfight going on outside the school that afternoon.

The same pattern happened in Cleveland, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Newark, Camden, etc. Anyone see any commonality? Nah!

I’m going to lay out everything you need to know about the fiscal cliff negotiations. After reading this, you can ignore all of the media’s coverage of this topic as well as various politicians’ announcements pertaining to this subject.

All you need to know consists of just one sentence.

Politicians are in charge of this issue.

Want to make some money? Look at the graphs the author provides. Looks to me like shorting the market for a couple of months might make a few bucks. (YMMV)

Confirming what is already evident – these hosts are just script reading for the WH. btw I recall Bush having conservative radio media over to the white house once midway though his second term where they all met for a 90-minute lunch, I recall it being a few months after the CIR fiasco and reports from the host it was more about trying to mend fences (at tony snow’s direction) then give direction like it clearly has been with the barack news network (aka msnbc) for 4 years now.

Not exactly news to anyone here but passing it along.

That article certainly starts off with a falsehood something I’ve seen elsewhere lately as well so I think it’s worth pointing out.
“Obama won based on a strong turnout while the GOP lost based on a weak turnout (Romney took less votes that McCain!).” The premise of weak turn out I don’t really take issue with but the last part is just factually false.

In the end Romney got more votes then McCain, not many more (~600k more), but an easy enough stat to check before publishing that I’m temped to stop reading the post right there. That said I found nothing more to quibble with in the post.

Been laughing lately that it seems when the Islamists are in the streets demanding reforms (Egypt,Libya,Iran,Syria) this administration is fairly eager to lend a hand and stick it’s nose in… (not to mention supporting the attempted coup in Honduras) but when secularists are in the streets not much of peep.

If Clinton was the “first black president”, should not Obama get the title of the first “Muslim president”?

15 – Question is what hell would have the guy been put though (or has he already been put through just from the allegation) had she not just admitted to it.

  17. 2012 December 5 11:07 am

    On a slightly positive front.

“Court casts doubt on Obama’s recess appointments”

“Forget about a century of precedent — go back to the Constitution,”

What a novel concept coming from an actual serving federal judge huh!!! 😉

Yeah the article with that Romney numbers was a bit off. But I was more interested in the lede in and the graphs as the end. I just bet we repeat the same economically again.

The false rape claim — yep I bet the guy has been through hell. He ought to file a civil suit for false claims against her. Ya have to figure he spent time in jail.

  19. 2012 December 5 11:18 am

“Ya have to figure he spent time in jail.”

Well the article only said he was interviewed, possible that in this case the cops played it straight and actually tried to determine some facts before moving forward (which seems rare in many of the cases like this as they usually jump the gun). But I was thinking more that the story was out there and what all his co-workers or employer (assuming he wasn’t terminated) was thinking and the overall knee jerk reactions to any claim these day.

BTW – This scam of red light cameras goes on in one form or another nearly everywhere these things seem to be installed, such is the case I think this article may be wrong saying they are spreading because I’ve read a large number of stories of them now being removed either due to expense or scams on the part of the operators or employing governments.

#17 Madonna called him that! Makes me wonder what he says to celebs in private. Aside from telling them he is going to do “gangsta shit” in his second term.
