Obama Stash, Obama Phone,
Now Obama Gas

According to a report in The Detroit News this morning, the administration is using its authority under the Affordable Care Act to “improve transportation routes to hospitals” to dispense gasoline free of cost in disadvantaged neighborhoods.

The $2 billion-a-year program aims to distribute 40 million gallons of free gasoline each year through 70 new gas stations constructed in major metropolitan areas. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHS) will be responsible for operating the network, whose first station opened yesterday in Detroit.

“It’s not something we’re publicizing very much, for obvious reasons,” explains Dori Salcido, assistant DHS secretary for public affairs. “But under the law we are well within our rights to offer this service, and we think it’s good public policy.

“How are people supposed to get to the doctor’s office if they don’t have gas in their cars? Health insurance is worthless if you can’t make your appointment. This is just another fine example of government stepping in and solving big problems.”

That’s bad enough. But in the scheme of things it may not make much sense as there may not be a doctor to go to thanks to the ACA.

(Reuters) – UnitedHealth Group dropped thousands of doctors from its networks in recent weeks, leaving many elderly patients unsure whether they need to switch plans to continue seeing their doctors, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

The insurer said in October that underfunding of Medicare Advantage plans for the elderly could not be fully offset by the company’s other healthcare business. The company also reported spending more healthcare premiums on medical claims in the third quarter, due mainly to government cuts to payments for Medicare Advantage services.

The Journal report said that doctors in at least 10 states were notified of being laid off the plans, some citing “significant changes and pressures in the healthcare environment.” According to the notices, the terminations can be appealed within 30 days

Folks that picture IS NOT a photoshop. Never thought I would see the day that the President of the USofA is bannered like a likeness of Mao. And then the OFA sits on it too. Where’s a lawyer, my gut says that is illegal.

So remember this next time you fill up at the pump.

“But what threatens the foundations of a free society most of all is when it is the government (and its allies in the private sector) who are doing the attacking, and when the reason there is no response is that the victims of the attacks have been threatened and bullied into silence.

I believe that is where we are today ? not just with respect to health insurance, but with respect to health care generally. I’m afraid other industries are not far behind.

During the debate leading up to the passage of the Affordable Care Act, I talked to a number of CEOs of large health insurance companies. I frequently heard such comments as, “Don’t tell anyone I told you this” or, “If you use this information, don’t mention my name” and even, “Don’t tell anyone that we ever had this conversation.””

    Obama’s Facist/Statist Amerikkka……..gotta love da State!

“In the early 1980s (while there was still a Berlin Wall), I went through Check Point Charlie from West Berlin to East Berlin. On either side of the wall, there were the same people with the same culture, same genes, etc. The only difference was a difference of political systems, and because of that difference East Berlin was of course poorer.

After about an hour of touring, though, I sensed that there was some other difference and it took me a while to pin point it. In East Berlin, no one smiled. No one laughed. No one joked. People looked at us and at each other with hesitation and even apprehension. Were we really tourists? Or might we be posing as tourists to report on their behavior?

If I could summarize everything in one word, it would be “fear.” The East Germans were afraid. You could see it in their eyes. And that was something you never saw in the West.

So why am I telling you about a 30-year-old experience? Because I sense that same feeling again ? right here, in the United States of America.”

    KH, 4,

Were I a lawyer I would save that diagram and every time I had a case I would supeona the entire system for a period of X days of any given case essential to my client. Get enough requests, that the city would have to honor, the system can become useless to police.

Eph was asking about Terri Lynn
Land running for U.S. Senate in Michigan. MI Conservative said that with her looks she could be an Eastern Michigan University cheerleader. I’ll go him one farther – with her looks, she could be e Democrat.

Seriously, she has been a good Secretary of State, her website is void or issues and my guess is she is a RINO.

” Get enough requests, that the city would have to honor, the system can become useless to police.”

Nah Dr. while that’s not a bad idea from the lawyers standpoint, the city will start to consider it a money maker, they’ll just charge all the lawyers production\reproduction fees.

TLS\Dr. Good looking on the correction, still funny.

Folks, I don’t think the Regime understands how volatile the U.S. is right now.

A huge number of Americans are addicted to “free stuff”…and feel that if it isn’t forthcoming RIGHT NOW, they are entitled to TAKE IT!

Another huge number of Americans are, shall we say, OPPOSED to those people…and to the Regime/mindset that has gotten so many people addicted. This includes prior administrations.

What happens when a pile of oily rags meets a match?

TLS, et al, it is almost impossible to tell satire from truth any more.

Not when the Obama Regime considers ‘1984’ to be a kind of “Dictatorship for Dummies”.

Depends on the State. Some don’t allow charging for services as part of discovery some do. Don’t know about Washington state.

Turns out maybe everyday Americans don’t actually hate people for being rich. Perhaps it has something to do with policy after all:

McAllister won nearly 60 percent of the vote.

McAllister, a college dropout, former roughneck and astute Monroe businessman, stunned the established political landscape with his landslide victory. “I feel incredibly humbled,” McAllister said Saturday night.

“It’s clear I had a broad base of support from Republicans and Democrats, and I plan to represent and fight for all of them. “We can turn Washington around one seat at a time, and it started here in the 5th District.”

McAllister, a millionaire, touted his background as a veteran and self-made man.

He was on the cutting edge of an oilfield technology to earn his initial wealth and then diversified into fast-food franchises and other ventures.

McAllister also had vocal support from the “Duck Dynasty” Robertson family.

Editor’s note – Backlash? A sign that working-for-a-living (mostly white, largely southern and western) males, have had enough of being sponged off of, by lazy-ass, non-working, food-stamp receiving, welfare Moocher America?
