The Permanent Welfare Class Keeps Getting More

Barack Obama likes to talk about the gap between the rich and the poor in America. Yet, he never mentions the assault on the middle class – working people having their hours reduced, losing benefits because of his policies (particularly ObamaCare) and being forced to assume a larger portion of the cost of running the country.

The rich actually have prospered under Obama as like few times in U.S. history. The Fed keeps pumping money into the economy and the media keeps playing Pollyanna, driving the stock market to new record heights.

An article yesterday really brought things into focus. The Congressional Budget Office reported that the “top 40% (and that includes us) paid 106.2% of Income Taxes; the bottom 40% paid -9.1%, and got an average  of $18,950 in ‘transfers.”

( – The top 40 percent of households by before-tax income actually paid 106.2 percent of the nation’s net income taxes in 2010, according to a new study by the Congressional Budget Office.

At the same time, households in the bottom 40 percent took in an average of $18,950 in what the CBO called “government transfers” in 2010. Taxpayers in the top 40 percent of households were able to pay more than 100 percent of net federal income taxes in 2010 because Americans in the bottom 40 percent actually paid negative income taxes, according to the CBO study entitled, “The Distribution of Household Income and Federal Taxes, 2010.”

“When refundable tax credits, such as the earned income tax credit and the child tax credit, exceed the other federal tax liabilities of the households in an income group, those households are said to have a negative average tax rate,” said the CBO study.

“In its analysis, CBO measured individual income taxes net of refundable credits,” it said.

In 2010, the CBO determined, American households in the bottom 40 percent paid negative amounts in income-tax dollars and a negative average income-tax rate.

“Much of the progressivity of the federal tax system derives from the individual income tax,” said the report. “In 2010, the lowest quintile’s average rate for the individual income tax was -9.2 percent and the second income quintile’s rate was -2.3 percent.”

Taxpayers fund food stamps, Section 8 housing assistance and healthcare for the lifetime welfare class. Through taxes or surcharges on our cell phones and utilities, we subsidize cell phones and utilities. Yet Obama claims we, as a country, don’t do enough.

Billions in tax credits are provided annually to real and fictitious children of illegal aliens that don’t even reside in the United States.

Imagine the impact amnesty will have on this as tens of millions become eligible for entitlements and the bottom 40% becomes the bottom 60%.

As I keep saying, we are reaching the point where every Taxpaying American family will be forced to support two families – their own and a life-long welfare family.

Congratulations and Well Done to bc on taking the college division football pool!!

Congrats also on your new dependents.

You win lifelong support responsibility for Juan and his extended family of 37, and as an added bonus with a football tie-in, you will win the same for a to-be-named pro football player’s child support responsibilities for his offspring, up to 12 illegitimate chillens.

You get more of what you subsidize, less of what you tax more.

    Mullet –

Unlike U.S. blacks, who were bred to be strong and good athletes, the non-Castilians coming from Mexico and Central America are short and fat so don’t expect them to make a dent in the NFL. Uneducated, unskilled, largely un-athletic (except baseball players from Venezuela) and unattractive women who celebrate their 18th birthday by cracking the 250 pound barrier.

Don’t expect to see illegal aliens charging down the field for the Panthers or prancing along the sidelines with the Top Cats.

And, the Democrats and RINOs want millions more. Are we lucky or what?

    MI Conservative –

It’s not that windy in the Detroit area, but it’s cold (15 degrees in beautiful Clawson right now). According to the 10-day forecast, it’s not going to get out of the 20’s.

Yeah, I’m a 1/2 mile from L. Michigan so our temps stay warmer from the lake and you guys get the cold. Not sure if I’d rather have the cold or lake effect snow?

MSM thinks that the handshake with Castro is a big deal.

Well here’s a bigger one — — American Jew wins Saudi prize. If its what I think it is, the Sauds are continuting to woo the Israelis for some defense cooperation, using this prize as a soft message on the region.

Best guess — Sauds-Israel-Jordan vs AQ-Hamas-Iran. The biggest game in town.
