Can’t Feed’em,
Don’t Breed’em
The nation’s second largest school district is doubling the number of students served dinner, with an eye toward eventually offering it at every school. It’s a growing trend: Nationwide, the number of students served dinner or an after-school snack soared to nearly 1 million last year.
“When kids are hungry, they don’t pay attention,” said Bennett Kayser, a member of the Los Angeles Unified School District board, which was announcing the expansion Thursday. “This is something that should have started years ago.”
Thirteen states and the District of Columbia began offering students dinner as part of a pilot program expanded to all states after the 2010 passage of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act. Schools where at least half the students are low-income and qualify for free or reduced-price lunch are reimbursed for each supper by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, at a rate often significantly higher than the cost of the meal.
This is not just happening in LA, but all over. There are several districts in the DFW area doing this as well. Local radio news program is making it a big deal and I have to agree with them.
The question is where the h#@$#% are the parents? The kids are getting breakfast, lunch and dinner thanks to the me and my peers. If parents can’t take the time to give the kids breakfast and dinner then we ought to send child services after them. Why do the schools do this? Why they get Fed grants to run the programs and make a profit at it. I don’t pay taxes to support school systems to be baby sitters.
“If you can’t feed’em. Don’t breed’em.”

To make matters even worse, with Mooch’s “healthy meals” programs a lot of food will be thrown out. Kids aren’t gonna eat that crap just because they’re hungry. They might eat it if they thought they might starve to death if they didn’t but it’s still a toss up between eating that sh!t or dying.
Meanwhile, today’s lunch menu at Sidwell-Friends was:
Italian Bean & Kale Soup
PJ’s Couscous Salad
Avocado & Pink Grapefruit Salad
Housemade Baked Salmon Cakes
Eggplant Parmesan
Marinara Sauce
Roasted Brussels Sprouts
Basmati Rice w/ Fresh Chives
Clementines
[2]
It doesn’t cost that much or take that long to make a kid’s lunch. Bread, peanut butter or cold cuts and cup cakes or a pudding cup.
[3]
It may not cost much, but it does cost more than it used too. 😉

“In January 1967, when the BLS started tracking this measure, the index for meats, poultry, fish, and eggs was 38.1. As of last December 2013, it was 239.151. In November 2014 it hit 260.247. And in December 2014 it hit a record high of 261.002, an increase of 9.1 percent in one year.”

How it wound up on /. I don’t know.

Heck, why take the sainted “chilllldddreeennnnn” home at all to those dangerous and stupid parents?
That way da parents can concentrate better on their respective roles on the government plantation: tax-slave, tax-eater or overseer (government employee)
Just keep them at the government indoctrination camps, er “publik skools” 24-7 and give them prison cells, er “barraaks” to sleep in…….
After all, we can trust EVERYONE who works for the da gumbermint because the instantly turn into a god-like superhuman who has pure, self-less intention, only has the interest of the “common good” in mind, and does no work……
This is a logical step to a Utopian “community” run by the police state1
[6]
#4 Those “parents” are dangerous!
Why we can’t allow a child to think he can be without a human “authority” watching them all time!
Why they might think the police state is unneeded!
Note #2 from this: If there was ever any doubt who “owns” the children its the government…….the government agency (aka one petty human technocrat) is “evaluating” if the parents can “keep” their own kids!
They must submit to current government dictates or else become enemies of the state………even though the parents are using aeon old child-raising techniques…….but hey current government indoctrination trumps aeons of human knowledge I guess!
[7]
““When kids are hungry, they don’t pay attention,” said Bennett Kayser, a member of the Los Angeles Unified School District board”
Good!
This is the best possible outcome!
The kids aren’t their to be “educated”…….they are their to be indoctrinated to submit unquestioningly to the “authority” of the state
If they are distracted and aren’t brainwashed to worship government they may have a chance of escaping with their humanity intact

Parents can afford the meals???? Too f…… lazy to do their job.
2 to 4 days a week I feed 4 to 10 hockey players age 17-21 lunch. With no government help! Mac/Cheese, taco’s, shepherd’s pie, Grilled cheese and tomato soup, hot Italian subs, Spaghetti or a pasta, or egg/ham/cheese Muffins. They love it all and most of it is cheap as $hit. I can do any of those meals for $20 to $25 or less for 10 players.
30 grilled cheese: 3 loaves of Italian bread $4.50 at meijers on sale, Kraft sliced cheese (18 pack) 2 for $5.00 on sale. 4 cans of tomato soup $4.00/Add a little milk, butter and crackers-$5.00. Just served 10 athletes for under $20 bucks.
But a family on food stamps can’t provide supper for a couple of their own kids. WTF!!!?????

Dare I say it… a little good news, and from (his motivations aside) Holder no less?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/holder-ends-seized-asset-sharing-process-that-split-billions-with-local-state-police/2015/01/16/0e7ca058-99d4-11e4-bcfb-059ec7a93ddc_story.html
I still hope congress moves forward with changes (or outright removal) of these laws but it’s a welcome step. As for the detractors like
“Bill Johnson, executive director of the National Association of Police Organizations, said, “There is some grave concern about the possible loss of significant funding while local police and state police are being asked to do more and more each year.””
too bad, maybe you shouldn’t be doing more and more each year, maybe those departments will have to forgo buying that MRAPs, or other unnecessary militaristic items, or for that matter personnel, not to mention all the other BS items mentioned in so many reports on these matters.
Of course I doubt that will happen instead you can bet we’ll all just be ticketed or taxed more to make up for the “shortfall”, or congress will come up with some other hand out program to replace it cause god forbid we actually cut a budget.

#6 – That story enrages me on so many levels I’m not sure I even want to think about it anymore other than I think the title should read: Government kidnaps 6-yearold on his walk home from the park.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Setting the stage for a potentially historic ruling, the Supreme Court announced Friday it will decide whether same-sex couples have a right to marry everywhere in America under the Constitution.
The justices will take up gay-rights cases that ask them to overturn bans in four states and declare for the entire nation that people can marry the partners of their choice, regardless of gender. The cases will be argued in April, and a decision is expected by late June.

You can assume this is a done deal.

You can assume that this country is done.
God will not be mocked.

post 11 ~~It was a done deal when roberts caved. The framers of the 14th amend. had no idea that it would be so perverted in this manner.
The leftofascists can do whatever they want under the guise of the interstate commerce clause/14th amend. WBF.
Once again the fraud of representative government is exposed for all to see by the perfidy of 5 of 9 old men/harridans.

It was done the day they elected the kenyan imposter.

Sad but true. We are destroying the country in the name of diversity.
[20]
Strength through diversity the demagogues shout,
Political correctness run amok no doubt,
Challenge not this obvious fraud,
Lest ye be labeled a heretic abroad,
Diversity of opinion is not their redoubt.

But a family on food stamps can’t provide supper for a couple of their own kids. WTF!!!?????
MiCon beat me to it, but yeah, why do they need food stamps then?
[22]
TLS – the reason WHY they provide food at the school is that the PARENTS are too stupid to know what food is best for their kids. Just more conditioning for the sheep.
[23]
#21 Why do they need parents…..just end the facade that children are anything other then government property from birth……
Just turn them over to the “public school” and DHS where the “better people” who run the Amerikan government can indoctrinate them right without interference from mundanes……
The “audaltz” can go back to their assign roles on the plantation: Tax Slaves, Mooches or Overseers

“The neocons use these lines (lies) so as to produce a warrior attitude against the countries they wish to invade. They want us to think that when there is retaliation against U.S. and western political and military policies, that it’s not retaliation, not blowback, not provoked by what the U.S. has done, but instead stems from a hatred of the west at a religious level or ideological level.
The necons are completely wrong about this. All this uproar about a world-defining event in Paris is total hokum. It’s Barnum & Bailey time. The neocons want to use it to peddle their warmongering. The truth stares us in the face. Attacks on the West are retaliation for real wrongdoing in a number of Muslim countries that the West has inflicted on them for decades on end. The wonder of it is that there hasn’t been even more such retaliation and anger.
I say emphatically: The Paris killings were not a threat to our freedoms. The neocon ideas that are being implemented in Washington’s foreign policies are not just threats to our freedoms, they have brought very real inroads into our freedoms. They have decimated certain of them. The administration of justice in the U.S. has effectively become non-functional in many important respects.”

The definition of the word CONUNDRUM is: Something that is puzzling or confusing, and where common sense is needed to understand the intention.
Here are six Conundrums of socialism in the United States of
America :
1. America is capitalist and greedy – yet half of the population is subsidized.
2. Half of the population is subsidized – yet they think they are victims.
3. They think they are victims – yet their representatives run the government.
4. Their representatives run the government – yet the poor keep getting poorer.
5. The poor keep getting poorer – yet they have things that people in other
Countries only dream about.
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about –
Yet they want America to be more like those other countries.
Think about it! And that, my friends, pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st Century.
Makes you wonder who is doing the math.

Saint Peter is sitting at the
pearly gates when two guys from
Ferguson arrive wearing dark hoodies, and sagging pants.
St.Peter looked out through the Gates and said,
“Wait here, I’ll be right back.”
St. Peter goes over to God’s chambers and tells him
who is waiting for entrance.
God says to Peter: “How many times do I have to tell you?
You can’t be judgmental here. This is heaven. All are loved.
All are brothers. Go back and let them in!”
St. Peter goes back to the Pearly Gates, looks around,
and lets out a heavy sigh. He returns to God’s chambers
and says, “Well, they’re gone.”
“The guys wearing hoodies are gone?” asked God.
“No. The Pearly Gates.”
[31]
Hey folks, do you not realize we now live in a socialist country!!! Do you honestly believe that some government worker (congress, etc) Is going to do anything to end this crap? This will be my last post. Take care of your friends and family. Wish you all well.
[32]
It’s not a matter that we’re not aware of the fact Indy, its the battle to figure out how we get back. Wish you well. Hope you come back sometime.
[33]
32— I can think of no historical context where any society ever
recovered from the stench of socialism.
[34]
Indy, take care…and do come back.

WTF? …WBF’ed
http://weaselzippers.us/211301-boston-mayor-fires-25-year-old-finnish-gender-migration-consultant-after-she-takes-part-in-i-93-protest/
[36]
35,
This might turn out to be a good thing. My understanding is that the mayor is getting tremendous amounts of heat about the I-93 blockage. Principally because the daughter of a man who had dispatched one of two ambulances had to divert around it causing delays in response. She went on a boston radio station about it. The folks are livid.
If you view it as an immigration issue, yep WBF. But if you view it as a response to people having enough of the malcontents one could view this as a plus.
[37]
Drdog, it’s simpler than that…WBF because one of the founding cities of America (Boston) hired a “Gender Migration consultant” in the first place!
