Syrian Regugees: 2,098 Muslims; 53 Christians
Since the Syrian civil war started, the overwhelming majority of refugees admitted into the US have been Muslims. 2,098 were Muslims and 53 were Christians. According to statistics, 10% of the Syrian population is Christian. Yet, only 2.6% of the Syrian refugees were Christian. An overwhelming 96%+ were Muslims.
Why the disproportionate ratio of Muslims? Two reasons: 1) Can you say Barack Obama? 2) Muslims control the United Nations agencies responsible for refugees.
(CNSNews.com) – President Obama said Monday that calls from some quarters for the U.S. to admit only Christian refugees from Syria were “shameful,” yet the reality is that today’s refugee system discriminates, not against Syrian Muslims, but against Christians and other non-Muslim minorities.
Critics say this is because the federal government relies on the United Nations in the refugee application process – and since Syrian Christians are often afraid to register with the U.N., they and other non-Muslims are left out.
Fleeing persecution at the hands of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and other jihadist groups, Syrian Christians generally avoid U.N. refugee camps because they are targeted there too.
Most refugees considered for resettlement in the U.S. are referred by the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Applications are then handled by one of nine State Department-managed resettlement support centers around the world, a process that includes vetting and interviews by the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and takes an average of 18-24 months. There are occasions when a process can begin without UNHCR referral, but this usually applies in cases of close relatives of refugees already in the U.S.
Of 2,184 Syrian refugees admitted into the U.S. since the Syrian civil war erupted in 2011, only 53 (2.4 percent) have been Christians while 2098 (or 96 percent) have been Muslims, according to State Department statistics updated on Monday.
The remaining 33 include 1 Yazidi, 8 Jehovah Witnesses, 2 Baha’i, 6 Zoroastrians, 6 of “other religion,” 7 of “no religion,” and 3 atheists.

In the wake of the Paris terror attacks, some Republican presidential candidates and governors are calling on the administration to reconsider a plan to admit 10,000 Syrian refugees in the current fiscal year.

As for the governors, NC governor McCrory says he is sworn to enforce state and federal law. His higher duty, however, is to protect the citizens of his state. Not sure what his options are.

I just love how every article about refugees being refused has some disheveled child as the lead pic in the link. Way to go finding the needle in the haystack, as these aren’t 3 year olds, they’re grown men of military age. I would say fine, let all the kids under 10 come in, but even then? Kids are being trained to hate and kill Jews from the time they can speak and walk. You’d have to go on the very young side, like the 3 year olds they post, and not allow them to live with Muslims, and that would never happen. So sorry, we’re closed.
The reality is, until we have zero homeless in this nation, from vets down to our own American 3 year olds, not one refugee should be given a place to live and public assistance. Until our vets have proper medical care, not one refugee should be given a single dime.

#31 Sides are indeed being chosen. Good grief…my Facebook feed is so across the board, feelings wise. People I thought would throw shade at an invasion are welcoming it with open arms, and people I thought would bleed their hearts out, are crazy mad. From my observation- the Christians are the ones saying NO, and my Republican friends who either don’t speak of religion, or are not at all religious, are all for the refugees, and saying Christians aren’t “Christian”. My theory is that Christians know exactly what Islam is, because they know what the Koran says as well as knowing why Arabs and Jews have never and will never get along. It’s easily traceable to Abraham and Sarah…if one bothers to read.
My most shocking (though it shouldn’t be because of how they tend to vote) discovery was how many of my Jewish friends are alllllllll for these refugees because of what happened to Jewish children.
