They Finally Did It!

Return and landing of a Falcon9 first stage.

Though the folks at Blue Origin beat SpaceX at this feat by a month this is significant none the less. The Falcon9 platform is launch certified for NASA loads, Blue Origin is not to date. Nor is the current Blue Origin vehicle orbital.

If SpaceX can pull off the reusable vehicle bit with 90% certainty the cost of lifts to space will drop dramatically. So much so they may become the only game in town very quickly.

Many of the engineers that work at SpaceX were young rocket jocks at the tail end of the Apollo program who were laid off by Rockwell, Hughes and others passing on their know how. Great job guys.

    It was spectacular!

America’s civilian space program is our only hope to return to space. NASA is a quagmire of political correctness and waste.

Sounds like a good title for a Mel Brooks film. 🙂 Sorta a SpaceBalls with Burka.

NASA should get out of the launch business. They have only been so-so as to leading new developments in that direction.

Texas Barnett shale formation doubled by USGS — — The Sauds ought to be worried. They can’t survive long on $20 oil. Fact were I Prez I would subsidize the US oil producers to drive the Sauds to stop supporting Jihad or end up beheaded by their own monster.

It looks like Lucy Graham will urge his “supporters” to vote for Jeb Bush.

Bush’s national support immediately went from 3.00020002% to 3.00020003%.
