The Price of Freedom
[updated from a long ago post…the invasion of Europe currently underway did not seem possible just 4 years ago]
The enemy is at our gates. They’ve swept aside much of the natural resistance Americans have had to Socialism and authoritarian rule. They’re intruding more each day on our private lives, exerting greater control over the decisions we are allowed to make, and attempting to suppress our ability to speak out or disagree. It has taken them over a hundred years to get here…but through a combination of subterfuge, intimidation, and persistent pressure they’re here now. The enemy at our gates has one thing in mind, in a word: subjugation. Once upon a time the people of Vienna had an enemy at their gates, with the same thing in mind…more than once, actually.
In the spring of 1529 an army of 300,000 Ottoman troops attacked Austria, ultimately arriving at Vienna in early September. They then set siege in an attempt to starve Vienna into submission. The Ottomans were bent on subjugating not just Vienna, but all of Europe in the name of Allah. Vienna was simply in the way. The only role Vienna could play in preventing the Ottoman hordes from sweeping across Europe was to stop them at the gates of their city…and they did. It went on for months, and thousands within the city died. Ultimately, as the weather worsened and their own supplies dwindled, the Ottomans staged one last desperate attack and then suddenly gave up. On the night of October 14, 1529, screams were heard from the Ottoman camp as they set about killing their prisoners prior to retreating from that part of Europe. The first Seige of Vienna had failed, but they would be back…in 1683.
160 years later: having overrun much of Eastern Europe already, a massive Ottoman army arrived at the gates of Vienna. Once again their aim was to conquer all of Europe in the name of Islam, and they were very close…but, again, they needed to get past Vienna first. Ever since their conquest of Constantinople (which they then renamed Istanbul) they had been virtually unstoppable…and utterly brutal in their conquest and subjugation of Christians and Jews everywhere. Things looked very bleak for the Viennese, for Europe, for Western civilization.
As in 1529 they chose starvation as their weapon, and so besieged the city, This went on for several months until, coincidentally, September 11th. On 9/11 1683 an alliance of Christian armies led by Jan Sobieski, the King of Poland, arrived at the Gates of Vienna to reinforce and relieve the city. Over the next two days they fought what is considered to be one of the 10 most important and momentous battles in the history of mankind: the Battle of Vienna.
The Christian army won…we won. The SECOND siege of Vienna was lifted, and although the Ottomans fought for another 16 years in their attempt to force Europe under Islamic rule, they eventually surrendered and signed the “Treaty of Karlowitz” on January 26, 1699. Europe was saved…until now actually.
If the Viennese had NOT resisted in 1529 and stemmed the tide, then the battle of 1683 would not have happened: Islam would have already conquered and subjugated all of Europe.
Now the enemy is not only AT the gates…they are WITHIN them! In Europe the unholy alliance of Islam and “Progressivism” has thrown wide the gates, and in America our “gates” were never even built!
Even if Europe has little or no hope of stemming the tide there, we can still hope to stem it here. In 1683 the Viennese got much needed reinforcements to save Austria and all of Europe. But the only “reinforcements” America will ever get will be from We the People, or there will be none at all. Reinforcements in the form of the American people rising up and demanding a return to government as our Constitution requires, and defeating the enemies of Freedom. 2016 may be our last chance for those “reinforcements” to arrive in the form of BALLOTS…
Twice, the people of Vienna had the enemy at their gates…and endured two brutal sieges as the Price of their Freedom, with the survival of Western civilization thrown into the bargain. The enemy is now at, and within our gates. The Price of Freedom is going up…how high will depend a lot on the results of the 2016 election.

We just don’t learn from history do we JR? Many liberals as well as naive independents and Republicans truly believe Islam is no different from other religions. No other religion wants to subjugate the world in the 21st century. No other religion has its own code of civil law which its followers want to impose.

The first debate moderated by FNC was a joke. The moderators consumed 31% of the debate time. With Megyn Kelly it was “all about me” and admitted she had an axe to grind against Trump. Chris Wallace took longer to ask questions than it took the US to fight WWII. Good debate moderators are like good baseball umpires of hockey officials – you don’t notice they are in the game.
My understanding is that Trump is planning to host a fundraiser for wounded vets at the same time the debate is taking place.

Cruz did not have a good week. Palin endorsed Trump. Glenn Beck endorsed Cruz and most people who have been paying attention think Beck is at least four innings short of a complete game. The Beck-Trump shows lasted for an hour and 45 minutes with Beck talking for an hour. Beck administering the oath of office to Cruz made it a folly.
40% – 10% may be a little off but it’s important to remember that Cruz has really concentrated on Iowa and is far more popular there than he is nationally.
Take a look at the images a posted above and tell me Cruz didn’t realize getting Beck involved was a mistake.
