About that Latino Vote…
Lets see, to win Latinos you must —
* Push comprehensive immigration reform.
* Agree to amnesty.
* Never stop the flow of ‘immigrants’.
* Fund their benefits without question.
At least that is what the ‘intelligentsia’ pushes. To not do so is political suicide. How did that work out this cycle?
Exits polls published by CNN suggest that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump did better among Latino voters than his party’s 2012 nominee, Mitt Romney. Trump lost the Latino vote to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton by a 29 percent-65 percent margin. That is significantly better than Romney did when he lost that demographic group to President Obama by a 27 percent-71 percent margin.
Trump was expected to do poorly among Latinos. He not only opposed immigration reform but promised to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico. He was widely criticized for his rhetoric on the issue, stating, for example, at his campaign launch that “rapists” were immigrating from Mexico. Liberal leaders like the AFL-CIO’s Richard Trumka denounced him as a racist. Romney eschewed such rhetoric though he also opposed immigration reform, calling for illegal immigrants to “self-deport.”
The results of the election left pro-immigration advocates stunned. “Wild swing of emotions. I’m in. This is my America, too. If we have to convince everyone else that #immigration is going to be ok, i am in,” tweeted Ali Noorani, executive director of the National Immigration Forum Action Fund.
So what is the take away here?
* Culture does matter. Latinos are deep into Machismo. They prefer a strong leader type, not a Jeb Bush like metrosexual.
* Like canaries in the coal mine, the legal Hispanic population is feeling the brunt of a open borders policy. They are seeing their lives, jobs and communities destroyed by undesirables. A wall maybe the only way they see to stem that tide.
* The lawlessness in the barrio weighs on them. “What do you have to lose?” resonated with that community.
* The meeting with the Mexican President probably had an impact. It blunted the message of Trump as a Xenophobe.
Note to GOPe. Playing the panty waist is not a winning strategy. Nor is rolling over and playing dead like the Dim script has been written.

I finally got time today to start the Laura Ingraham podcast.

Second Liberal Republican Bites the Dust:
Last night it was Illinois’ Mark Kirk. Today it was announced that Maggie Hassan defeated incumbent New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte. Like Renee Ellmers in North Carolina, Ayotte ran as a Tea Party conservative in 2010 and was endorsed by Sarah Palin.
Like Ellmers, Ayotte promoted strong immigration enforcement and took concervative positions on other issues during her campaign. After assuming office, Ayotte became a puppet of John McCain and Miss Lindsey Graham. She became one of the most liberal Republicans in the Senate with a 26 Heritage Action rating. Kirk had a 15 rating. Only Kirk and Susan Collins had worse Heritage Action ratings than Ayotte.
Both Ayotte and Kirk were #NeverTrumpers:st

Glad to see Ayotte is toast. Somehow I thought Kirk was already gone.

If I had their addresses, I would send them Hari Kari knives via Fed Ex.

Tell them no worries. Now it’s only 727 days left until midterm for revenge when over 3 times as many dem seats are up: dems defend 25 seats and republicans defend 8.
[10]
popular vote nationwide was almost evenly split. Hillary MAY have gotten a few thousand more…of course, her numbers were padded by tens of thousands of illegal votes, especially here in Kalifornia where illegals are essentially ENCOURAGED to break the law.
p.s. Arizona and Michigan both show 100% of votes counted. Trump still ahead in both.
[11]
[12]
love the tombstone, drdog!!
I hope it STAYS dead!
[13]
Hillary the frump is running from trump,
Huma the muzzie won’t be there to hump,
The wheels comming off in grand old fashion,
This will cool the ardor of moonbat passion,
The pooch is about to take it in the rump.
[14]
THEIR HOUSE OF CARDS IT HAS JUST CRASHED,
UPON THE ANVIL OF JUSTICE THEIR BALLS WE HAVE SMASHED,
THEIR GRANDIOSE SCHEMES HAVE BEEN RENDERED ASUNDER,
THE GREAT UNWASHED HAVE CORRECTED THEIR BLUNDER,
THEIR DREAMS OF UTOPIA HAVE JUST BEEN DASHED.
Is this a real turning point in the body politic,
is the great unwashed seeing the light, or is it just a whore taking a smoke break between johns???

7 – Isn’t it dudgeon, doc? 🙂 It would be nice if they were in a dungeon.
8 – Very entertaining, thanks….course Soros is already funding ‘spontaneous’ demonstrations around the country.
9 – Let’s hope the Republicans that run will be Deplorable like ‘us’…..then it will be fun. If they try to undermine President Donald then we need to kick their butts out.
10 – I suspect Pravda USA will not include your salient information Justrand.
11 – Well that’s the number one goal……can’t wait for Trump to get started.
13 – dazzling as always 🙂

14,
That’s a dang good question. We really have only put a dent in the machine. We need to start tearing the wheels off and making sure there is follow-thru to dismantle the machine. The globalists won’t just give up and hide in a bunker. They will come back for another try. Vigilance.

Interesting observation at the outset:
“The Democrats will now control next to nothing above the municipal level.”
Of course, that overlooks their iron grip on Kalifornia and New York.

Justrand #25 –
#NeverTrumpers, like French, are happy to destroy the country to smite Donald Trump. Some are fools (French may fall in that category), but many have ulterior motives (e.g. power or personal gain).

“Of course, that overlooks their iron grip on Kalifornia and New York.”
Agreed. Though I observe if either state was relieved of LA, SD, Sac, SF, NYC, Albany, etc both would be a very dull to medium red. Illy, has the same problem. Without Chicago it too would probably go red.

mpt, good read.

Mind screwed tight — http://www.captainsjournal.com/2016/11/09/presidential-election-post-mortem/
[34]
My mind has been reeling. I have so many questions that are coming to the surface now that Trump has won. I guess I never really allowed these questions to enter my mind because I didn’t want to put the cart before the horse. Or maybe I didn’t want to jinx him. Whatever. And this is only a partial list, and in no particular order:
Who will he nominate to replace Scalia?
How cool is it that Melania will be first lady?
What will the Obamas steal when they leave the WH?
What happens to the DNC and Dem establishment when the rank and file voters start to connect the dots?
Could we see a populist, anti-establishment, Tea Party-like movement from the left?
What will it be like to have a truly honest and non-corrupted AG?
And I have many more questions that move in and out of my frontal lobe.
But my biggest questions revolve around how Trump will seize this opportunity to truly swing this nation back from the abyss of globalism and from the possibility of having all this undone in 4 or 8 years. The globalists erred in selecting a horrible candidate. The globalists’ next champion won’t be so stupid about emails, and will likely be somewhat charming. What then? Specifically, what can President Trump do to stem the tide of budding communists that our public education system is churning out? Can President Trump repair a corruptible voting system? What can be done about a corrupt and complicit media?

Afflict the comfortable — https://straightlinelogic.com/2016/11/09/the-quote-by-robert-gore/ — and comfort the afflicted.
A partial answer to your query about the media JBoz. DrudgeReport IS the media syndicate that has replaced the NYT news feed. The legacy media just won’t acknowledge it.

mpt…so problem. I’m glad we stuck it out, and with Obama gone (and Hillary too) I think we’ll be here for quite a while! 🙂
and p.s. THANKS to you and to EVERYONE who stuck around and/or came back as we went through some soul searching regarding staying or “going dark”. 🙂

Whew! John Kerry has offered to stay as Secretary of State.
Here’s Trump “welcoming” that news…

One more huge THANKS to two special people who did most of the posting of articles over the last two years as I recovered from cancer surgery. I’m all back now…hence I’ve been posting & writing more…but for a while it was tough.
So thanks to drdog and bc3b…you’re both awesome.
And thanks to the rest of you Deplorables (gnqanq, mullet, fight on, JBoz, Eph, MPT, Bruce, KH, TLS, WEC, Deckard…and too many to remember)
And, of course, the awesomest thanks to our very own Poet Laurette…IP.
It looks like Hut1369 will have to wait a bit before we all meet up there. At least, it looks like that now. 🙂
[42]
JR, thanks, I am just humbled to be among such a dedicated bunch of patriots.
[43]
IP,
You are right, they have learned nothing. It also shows that the supposed Freedom Caucus are a bunch of panty waists for not offering opposition.

right back at you JR..and dittos to everyone else.
