‘Extreme Suppression’ is a Scam
There have been murmurs about it all along.
Someday, they simply wouldn’t allow certain things to remain on the Internet any longer. The potential to reach a global audience with important information, and the idea that it could be in the hands of anyone is just too big.
So it is no surprise that many corporate giants from Silicon Valley are now putting forward a unified front to silence free speech on social media.
Hashtags, keywords and flagged accounts, logged in various databases, will be shared and enforced across the web. Shutting down content identified as unacceptable will now be streamlined, and leave unpopular posters with fewer places to peddle their extremist, outside views.
Now is there a desire on the likes of Facebook to do a purge? The answer is yes. But that is not the question dear reader. What Facebook, Microsoft et. al. are proposing is the equivalent of not taking your adverts on their printing press. They are not stopping you from buying your own printing press. (At least not yet.)
Nobody is being prevented from having their own printing press. In the digital age that is so much easier than it was in the days of when it was all pulp. How easy is it? Well how about this? You pick up a low end server rental, $21/year. (see URPad) You load any number of free software on it. (see OwnCloud or WordPress) Most of the rental vendors have templates to load the software on their machines, as simple as point and click. Then morph your content onto the platform. One can be up and running within 24hrs. Being a nerd is not required.
In reality I welcome the purge. Not because I like purges, I don’t. But for Liberals every action has a overwhelming reaction. So this cabal of entities proposing what they will do will do nothing but impact their eyeball counts and consequently their stock price. Can’t come soon enough.
Rock on!

Well here is #4 on Trump’s jobs parade — http://www.cnbc.com/2016/12/07/us-steel-wants-to-accelerate-investments-bring-back-jobs-ceo-says.html — 10k possible rehires.

had the Hildebeast won then the push from FaceBook, et al, would have been much more effective. But with Trump in office they will find their leverage and reach dramatically less.
I took a long time to warm up to FaceBook…it would take me almost NO time to stop using it. I don’t use Twitter or any of the others either.
BUT, I do like that Trump continues to piss off the media by using Twitter, and bypassing them! 🙂
[3]
drdog, I think the US Steel win may have more to do with the upcoming change at the EPA.
Out with the Enviro-Nazis…in with SENSIBLE environmental protections!
[4]
3,
Probably so. Steel exports are down since the Chins are having trouble keeping their own economy going.
[5]
I don’t use Twitter, but I understand there is a more conservative-friendly alternative available now.
http://www.lostintechnology.com/5-great-alternatives-to-the-twitter-interface/
I believe iTweet is conservative-friendly.
[6]
BC,
Those are presentation layer tools on top of Twitter. You still use a Twitter account. Gab.io might be better for general purpose uses. But for secure Twit like experience this might be in line for our needs if things go SHTF — http://www.trsst.com/. Its in beta and may not survive, but something like it will come along.

Andy Puzder is tapped for Labor secretary. CEO of the fast food chain of Carl’s junior fame. (Remember THAT commercial?????)

Trump tells Steel union to reduce dues and get off the couch and get to work getting your members skills and jobs. Trump if he pulls off his promises will be called the ‘Rough Rider’ for the 21st century.

Off topic: I think the MI Obama appointed judge who stopped the MI recount did so at the request of the Hag’s campaign……the amount of fraud that was becoming apparent in Detroit was going to be more destructive to the Dems and might have sparked investigations exposing what we all know goes on in minority districts controlled by local thugs.
I hope Trump goes after this over time.

More dumb picks by Trump

Ooops meant to link to Krikorian for the dumb Trump cabinet picks, which he now has many
[14]
13 must mean it’s a good pick.
Puzder (the pick) was also a vocal opponent of Obamacare, citing the negative effect it would have on businesses creating new jobs and turning full time jobs into part time jobs.
Puzder is on the board of the International Franchise Association, an organization opposed to raising the minimum wage to $15 for low wage jobs like fast food workers.
Sounds like good business to me. Entry level workers have no chance with a $15 min wage.
[15]
No Bruce, Trump is just being dumb. Like many of his other picks

Ha…16…..that’s excellent.
Give it up PP, the Trump Train is rolling!!
[18]
bc3b, MIC….if voter id becomes law in MI, the state could go back to near red again, could it not?
[19]
Hilarious…….the snobbery and dripping condescension exposed to all but their blind eyes.
https://thefederalist.com/2016/12/08/life-like-artists-time-trump/
[20]
Voter ID laws are a start, but unless you have court appointed observers with police powers to oversee the voting in problem pricint areas, you can’t stop crooked poll workers from multiple voting techniques.
[21]
20….Trust but verify……nice thought.

16 – Nice
17 – Exactly if PP is opposed it’s probably a good pick.
20 – Nor the bigger problem of getting on the rolls in the first place.

36,
You act surprised. If the only way that the GOPe can get to the levers of power is to kiss the ring, they will do it. What they don’t even now understand is that any of the picks that Trump has announced so far ‘serve at his pleasure’. Plant in the back of your mind that a Trump administration is going to be a revolving door. You don’t get something done as expected, that person will be gone in short order. Trump was used to firing contractors who did not get stuff done, why should a cabinet official be treated any differently?
Drink up, its going to be a rocky ride, but a rough ride is what DC needs.
[39]

drdog: “Drink up, its going to be a rocky ride, but a rough ride is what DC needs.”
Precisely! And I believe those “serving at his pleasure” KNOW that he will say: “You’re Fired!” very quickly if they don’t move the ball forward.
[41]
this pretty much sums up how the Trump Administration will work…all the weenies will have to learn new rules! 🙂
