They Are Now Eating Their Own
Steve Martin deleted a tweet intended to honor his longtime friend Carrie Fisher, who died Tuesday at 60, amidst a barrage of anger on social media and the internet.
On Tuesday, shortly after the actress died in a hospital after suffering a heart attack on a transatlantic flight Friday, Martin tweeted, “When I was a young man, Carrie Fisher was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen. She turned out to be witty and bright as well.”
Fisher had repeatedly spoken out against being a sex object and hated the gold slave bikini her character was forced to wear in “Return of the Jedi,” which made her the center of numerous ’80s teen boy fantasies.
In light of that, Martin’s tweet, which touched on Fisher’s appearance in a way many found inappropriate or even sexist, crediting her for being “witty and bright” as somewhat of an afterthought to her appearance sparked plenty of backlash.
New York Magazine even published an entire post critical of Martin’s tweet, originally headlined “Steve Martin, This Is a Bad Tribute to Carrie Fisher.”
Martin took down the tweet a few hours after posting, which sparked a new round of social media garment rending from people upset that he decided to respond to the criticism in that way.
Carrie Fisher, Liberal. Steve Martin, Liberal. Both reside in the HollyWierd bubble called LA. Sadly the PC fluxed feminist movement have now made it nearly impossible to complement a woman in any manner, physical appearance or otherwise. That alone is a sad state of affairs at a personal level. My wife would think it strange that I did not notice her from time to time.
But what is the relish on the dog is that Liberals are attacking Liberals for just being nice. I savor the Dog bites Man aspect of it. I suspect that this is the only way that a subset of the Liberal space will finally come to understand how mindless is the Beast that they have created. Too bad it won’t be all of them.
As a society we have lost quite a bit if we can’t say a compliment or be nice to each other.

There is an irony aspect to all this. The Libs all the time are preaching ‘community’. But what they mean when they use that word is ‘people like us’, aka exclusion. The bigger part they miss is that the smallest community — the relationship between two individuals. You can’t have larger associations till that one on one aspect is in play.

Steve Martin isn’t as loony Left as most Hollywood folk…but the post is true nonetheless.
The orthodoxy of the Left is VERY strict, and Martin must have said/done something to have them single him out for public banishment from their ranks.
The good news is that the Left is indeed eating it’s own…as it seeks to purify it ranks. Splendid!

I never thought I would see the day when referring to a woman as “beautifuk” would be considered an insult. Today up is down and hot is cold so I guess ugly is the new beautiful.
Carrie Fisher was far left. Several months ago she commented that it is a shame that actora and actresses are judged on their looks. Kind of like saying hockey players shouldn’t be judged on their ability to skate.
Had Carrie Fisher not been beautiful as a young woman, she never would have been cast as Princess Leah. Being Debbie Reynolds’ daughter didn’t hurt eithrt. Although the left would have a cow (as she was a liberal icon), a case could be made that Carrie was one of a small percentage of people that actually did benefit from the hated “white privlidge.”
That’s the great thing about sports – people are actually jusdged on their ability. Pete Rose’s son only played a handful of games in the majors. Unlike his father, Petey couldm’t hit Major League pitching,
