Soviet Duma of the Province of California

Sorry guys and gals of CA, but that is what your ‘betters’ have become.

Undeterred, Thursday, Nguyen began her speech in Vietnamese, and switched to English, at which time she was quickly cut off by Democratic leadership.

“Today I recognize in memory the millions of Vietnamese and hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese refugees who died in seeking freedom and democracy,” Sen. Nguyen said. “On Tuesday you had an opportunity to honor Sen. Tom Hayden. With all due respect, I would like to offer this historical perspective…” At that point Nguyen was cut off by Sen. Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens), presiding over the Senate, who then gave the floor to Sen. Bill Monning (D-Carmel). While Nguyen was still trying to give her speech, Monning repeatedly yelled over her that she was out of order.

Upon Lara’s order, Nguyen’s microphone was lowered by a Sergeant, but she continued her speech, even as Lara repeatedly asked her to sit down. He eventually ordered the sergeants to remove Sen. Nguyen from the Senate floor.

“Sergeants, please remove Sen. Nguyen from the chamber,” Lara said. “Have her removed immediately. Sergeants, please remove Sen. Nguyen, she is out of order.”

Nguyen said she found the Democrats’ attempts to silence her ironic, when in May 2016, Sen. Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) spoke in opposition to a resolution honoring former President Ronald Reagan for advancing the public good. Leno, who was critical of Reagan’s cuts to AIDS research funding, spoke at length against Reagan, and said he would not support the resolution.

Others critical of Sen. Lara’s behavior in the Senate chimed in.

“If Senator Ricardo Lara is allowed to keep his leadership position in the same way that Assemblyman Roger Hernández stayed on as the Labor Committee Chairman after abusing his role, then we are doomed to see incidents like this repeat themselves,” Assemblyman Matthew Harper (R- Huntington Beach) said in a message to me. In 2015 during a committee hearing, Harper tried to speak, when Hernández shut off Harper’s microphone. When Harper objected, Hernández reached across the desk of an Assembly staff member, and physically tried to shut off Harper’s microphone. Then Hernández ordered Assembly Sergeants to remove Harper’s microphone. Hernández immediately forced the vote on the bill, without discussion or debate.

This ladies and gentlemen is what the Democrats intend for those that are ‘not of the right thinking’. Silence. It is their only solution as they long ago abandoned the engagement of a battle of ideas. For them the only public square is a safe place for their nutty beliefs.

The sooner we let a CalExit occur the better the balance of the nation will be. The state of California is a lost cause.

BC, this action by the CA senate needed a post of its own.

This is a despicable act by the senate leader to shut down an opposing point of view.

If you can tell the difference between the smuggler and BATFE, let me know — — And yet again no heads will roll.

Till I see all those involved wearing stripes and building the southern border wall, nothing will change.

Every aspect of “governance” in Kalifornia is a joke…in bad taste.

Even the EXISTENCE of a California Senate is a joke. At one point it ALMOST made sense, as it originally was to act in the State the same way the U.S. senate does: a set number of Senators per COUNTY.

Ahhh….but that gave a bit of actual representation to the small (population wise) Districts, like the one I live in.

Prior to 1968, state senate districts were drawn so that each county had at most one state senator. This led to the situation of a populous county such as Los Angeles County being accorded the same number of state senators (1) as less populous counties such as Humboldt County. WHICH WAS EXACTLY THE ORIGINAL POINT…just like the U.S. Senate.

But then the United States Supreme Court compelled all states to draw up districts with equal population. As such, boundaries were changed to provide more “equitable representation.” Which means ONLY those in the big cities have representation.

Our “Bicameral” Legislature is now NEEDLESSLY Bicameral…since it is almost completely DEMOCRAT, and they just rubber-stamp each other’s SJW wetdreams.

    Not that I’m bitter.

The gutless GOP will not repeal obamacare. What they will do is take this socialist piece of dog turd, make cosmetic changes, gold plate it and present to the public as a” reform” thereof.

“Cutting the mic” is a favorite trick of the left regardless if it’s the Kalifornia legislature or a conservative saying “fake news” or verbally kicking the butt of Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon or “Babbling Brooke” Baldwin, which isn’t hard.

The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Politico and BuzzFeed were also among those excluded from the meeting, which was held in White House press secretary Sean Spicer’s office. The meeting, which is known as a gaggle, was held in lieu of the daily televised Q-and-A session in the White House briefing room.

    Tired yet?

Good news indeed for the simple fact it rips into the one asset NYT has left — syndication.
