RynoCare: The End of Paul Ryan’s Rise to Power?

2017 March 25
by bc3b

In 2012 many conservatives were elated when Mitt Romney selected Paul Ryan as his running mate. We were led to believe Ryan was the future of the future of the Republican Party and the conservative movement.

The 2012 campaign and the four years following were an eye-opening experience. The more conservatives learned about Paul Ryan, the less enthusiastic they were abour him.

His debate appearance against “Slow Joe: Biden was a disaster. He had little aooeal to voters and couldn;t even carry Wisconsin. His wife comes from a wealthy, liberal Democratic family (her uncle being David Boren, a former Democratic senator and current president of Oklahoma University).

We discovered one of Ryan’s best friends in Congress is Luis Gutiérrez, one of the most liberal members of Congress and that Ryan shares Gutierrez’s views on amnesty.  We discovered Ryan is the poster boy for establishment Republicans, always working to advance the cause of big business, even if it hurts middle class Americans. Ryan supported all Barack Obama’s debt ceiling increases.

Yet, like the Energizer Bunny, Ryan’s career kept moving ahead. He became Speaker of the House. Ryan wanted a major bill to attach his name to, and took a gamble RynoCare would propel him even higher. He totally fumbled the ball, culminating with a watered-down version of ObamaCare – one that has mandates, favors insurance companies and contains loopholes so Ryan’s beloved illegal aliens could get subsidies.

That was a step too far. The Freedom Caucus and other Republicans finally revolted and now Ryan’s leadership position is in jeopardy.

Conservative Republicans are “fuming” over Republican leadership dropping a provision from Obamacare 2.0 or Ryancare meant to stop illegal aliens from collecting healthcare tax credits, Reuters reports.

“The provision would have allowed the Treasury Department to access data at the Department of Homeland Security to verify that healthcare tax credits went only to U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents, not to illegal immigrants,” the report explains. “In a largely procedural move, it was dropped from the bill after the Senate Parliamentarian determined that the Senate Finance Committee, which handles tax credits under the bill, does not have purview over the Department of Homeland Security.”

The move is a slap in the face to Americans struggling to afford ever-increasing healthcare costs in an era of mass immigration and  depressed wages, said one Republican congressman.

“Unfortunately, after evaluating the text of the American Health Care Act (AHCA), I cannot support the bill in its current form,” Barletta said in a statement:

I am concerned that the bill lacks sufficient safeguards for verifying whether or not an individual applying for health care tax credits is lawfully in this country and eligible to receive them. Under Obamacare, a half a million people received a total of $750 million in health care subsidies, even though the recipients could not prove their lawful presence in the United States. I cannot vote for a replacement plan that fails to address this problem.

I came to Congress to stop illegal immigration. I would have a hard time explaining to families in the 11th District – many of whom are still struggling to put food on the table and foot the costs of their own health care bills – why they should be helping to pay for the health expenses of someone who broke the law to get here and has no right to those federal dollars.

Last-minute changes to the bill do not prevent illegal aliens from receiving healthcare coverage through identity fraud, a House Freedom Caucus spokeswoman told Breitbart News on Tuesday.

Conservative author Daniel Horowitz calls the bill “a gift to illegal aliens,” warning it makes even basic immigration enforcement impossible.

how the hell did Paul “The Eunuch” Ryan ever get power to begin with?

Nancy Pelosi is one of the most vile creatures to EVER walk the face of the Earth…but dammit, she was EFFECTIVE for her demented causes.

Ryan is BEYOND pathetic and useless…and INeffective in every way!

JR #1 – Totally agree. The one thing I admire about the Democrats is that no matter how batsh!t crazy their ideas are, they are willing to fight for them. Republicans, like Ryan, however, don’t really hold many core beliefs and always wear white undies, just in case they misplace their surrender flags.

Here is what I don’t understand. The right political move would have been for the Dims to offer up a bill that provides for full repeal of OCare with no strings. That would have split the GOP wide open. With the members of the freedom caucus + Dims they could force a move to the House floor past the Rules committee. In open session about 2/3rds of the GOP members WOULD have to vote yea or lose their seats. Bill passes.

The ball then passes to the GOP to provide a solution or not. Either way the Dims would have won. If no replacement occurs they can blame the GOP. If a replacement is developed its now RyanCare. It would also prove that the GOP had not intention of repealing OCare and the 7 year bluff is kaput.

You know what? This would be an even better time to pull this stunt. The Dims know that OCare is blowing up. Upstage the GOP and force the situation. It might even force Ryan to defend OCare and that truly would be the end of his career.

This shows that the GOP Establishment is no different than the Democrats. They had 6 years to craft and refine a true health care replacement and did not. They were happy that Obamacare was failing that they could hang it around the Democrats neck.

Ryan should be replaced because he has failed at leadership. He should have never allowed a bill to proceed that was destined to fail.

The problem we face is that the GOP (outside of Trump) is lead by statists.

One person I follow is Martin Armstrong. He continues to preach collapse of the political system as we know it. Neither side represents the American people and you are witnessing the system coming apart.

If Ryan goes, who do we get? McCarthy, like he is an upgrade. More of the same, like Ryan was a continuation of Boner.

gn – Iactully believe the GOP establishment prefers being the minority party. That enables them to enjoy the perks of being in Congress without having any responsibility.

    Interesting factoid —

“Civil liberties experts warn that just walking down the street in a major urban center could turn into an automatic law enforcement interaction. With the ability to glean information at a distance, officers would not need to justify a particular interaction or find probable cause for a search, stop, or frisk. Instead, everybody walking past a given officer on his patrol could be subject to a “perpetual line-up,” as the Georgetown study put it. In Ferguson, Missouri, where a Justice Department investigation showed that more than three-quarters of the population had outstanding warrants, real-time face searches could give police immense power to essentially arrest individuals at will. And in a city like New York, which has over 100 officers per square mile and plans to equip each one of them with body cameras by 2019, the privacy implications of turning every beat cop into a surveillance camera are enormous.”

Now that is ‘escape from new york’ territory right there.

Not to sound racisssst, but think how much less crime there would be in the country was entirely white or Asian.

To carry that thought a tad further. Netflix is cueing up a flick ‘The Thinning’. Precept is USA collapses and lacks resources. So the fix is they eliminate any child without an outstanding IQ. Now what I have seen of the promos the Whites are over represented and Asians don’t even appear from what I seen. And blacks are under represented. Fact it is so bad I think one could run a reverse ‘check your privilige’ campaign.

Every morning we wake up depressed when we see the bus driver speaker on the television.

I like calling him that because Maduro is called the bus driver president because he drove the school bus before running the economy whereas Ryan ran the weiner bus.

This seems crazy to me. Maybe this stuff is why some people get equally crazy with the demand that their kids go to Christian only schools. I never really cared for the Jesus-campers.

    the Muslim “culture” is SICK!

no, not all Muslims are SICK…but their CULTURE is. And since they refuse to bring their “culture” into anything even close to modern times, then I blame them all for that.

I am a Christian, but if people were routinely committing atrocities and perversions is the name of “Christ”, I would speak out again them…and if the majority of Christians did not support ME in doing so, I would change or drop my religion.

Luckily, the last time people were committing atrocities and perversions in the name of Christ it was 1200 a.d. (or so). And even then there weren’t people blowing up school and raping boys & girls in the name of Christ.

Drdog, the “Deep State” apparatchiks, including and especially those in the intelligence services, are accomplishing a slow-rolling coup…and the media is part of the process.

Trump either goes public to expose them…and surrounds himself 100% with people who support him and will FIGHT for him, or he won’t survive. Politically or literally.

And Tweets will not do the trick.

The tweet was the opening round to depose Ryan as Speaker. I might miss my guess, but I suspect we will have a new Speaker come June. Probably somebody out of the freedom caucus.

Deep State is certainly attempting a coup. Or if not that a shadow government operation. I don’t know if Trump needs to go open with it yet. More likely to support Nunes behind the scenes till things get a little warmer.

But a bit of conjuncture. I don’t think the CIA/NSA are Trumps primary target. I think it is Obama. Bringing Obama down will consequently force a realignment within the intelligence agencies as collateral damage. Trump must know more than is in the open. A simple ‘I was wiretapped’ has ballooned into a disaster for those involved.

My view right now was Trump trusting Ryan to get the job done on OCare was his primary failure so far.

    JR –

    the Muslim “culture” is SICK!

It has been for more than 1,400 years. When a “religion” is started by a pedophile (married a six year old and started having sex with her at nine) warlord to justify his lifestyle, things can be expected to turn out badly.

For the most part, all other religions live in harmony today. The thing I cannot fathom is why anyone – especially women – would willingly convert to Islam.

Christianity and Islam are so different. For centuries Christian organizations have built hospitals and universities to benefit mankind. What have Muslims done?

President Paul #20. Send both my children to a very traditional Catholic high school because I didn’t like the values public schools would be pushing. It was worth the investment. Today there aren’t many Catholic colleges that are much different than state schools so I saved the money and sent them to state universities.

    JR #30 – Good point.

Of all the insane things the Muzzies have done, the thing that sticks out in my mind happened about 15-20 years ago in Saudi Arabia. About 15 girls perished in a school fire because their heads were not covered and the religious police wouldn’t let them out.

But, remember relativism – all religions and cultures are equal.
