Did Comey Lie to Congress?

Statements made by Former FBI Director James Comey and Former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe appear to contradict each other.

President Donald Trump tweeted Sunday that former FBI Director James Comey “clearly” lied under oath in his testimony before Congress in 2017.

“Wow, watch Comey lie under oath to Senator G,” he tweeted Sunday morning, “When asked ‘have you ever been an anonymous source … or known someone else to be an anonymous source…?’ He said strongly ‘never, no.’ He lied.”

Indeed, it does appear that Comey may have misrepresented the truth during his congressional testimony in 2017. The following is an excerpt from his questioning before Congress:

Director Comey, have you ever been an anonymous source in news reports about matters relating to the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation?

COMEY: Never.

GRASSLEY: Question two, relatively related, have you ever authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports about the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation?

Former deputy director Andrew McCabe, who was recently fired, seemed to tell the story a little differently in a statement Saturday.

The OIG investigation has focused on information I chose to share with a reporter through my public affairs officer and a legal counselor. As Deputy Director, I was one of only a few people who had the authority to do that. It was not a secret, it took place over several days, and others, including the Director, were aware of the interaction with the reporter. It was the type of exchange with the media that the Deputy Director oversees several times per week.

In response to some of the president’s tweets Saturday criticizing the pair, Comey tweeted that the American people will soon be able to judge who is “honorable and who is not.”

Remember the good old days whrn the FBI used to chase bank robbers and look for the Ten Most Wanted criminals?

Don’t worry – Comey is too big to go to priswon. And, Republicans don’t have th balls to put him on trial.

“Representative Adam Schiff (D., Calif.) bucked his party on President Trump’s firing of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, remarking that his dismissal may have been “justified.” “You know, his firing may be justified,” the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee said ”

I had to read that 3 times to make sure my eyes were not playing tricks on me.

Every Russian I know was voting for Vlad.

In a country that has only known monarchs or commissars Putin comes across as the second coming. He does an annual ritual of taking questions from man in the street reporters, live. I don’t know of any other world leader that does that. Still, the man is dangerous.

Sidebar. Russians here could go to any russian orthodox church or the local consulate and vote.

My only complaint so far is that Comey, McCabe, et. al are all small fish. They need to go after the big whale — Clinton, both of them. They are at the center of the hurricane that created this mess. Purge the Clintons and amazingly the balance will self identify in an attempt to save themselves, looking for a better deal from the ADA.

make that one HUNDRED years. Woodrow Wilson expanded governmental agencies, and every President since then…EXCEPT Trump…has added to them.

That’s why the Deep State hates/fears him.

The same can be said of colleges and universities like Berkeley and San Francisco State. They were leaders of the free speech movement in the 1960s and 1970s. Now they want to supress speech they don’t agree with.

“I oppose hate speech!” — Left

“Well then follow your own advise and shut the hell up!” — Right

That sums up the core of what the Right should be doing. Turn the argument right back around and suppress the oppressor.

6 – Agree. Also not surprised at all to hear that, and I know you know many.

Shenanigans or not there was no way he wasn’t gonna get a majority legitimately, western media doesn’t seem to understand he’s pretty well liked at home, be it really 75% or a bit less, doesn’t make much a difference.

18 – I seem to recall a similar case of something like that from a few years ago, a card carrying PP judge ruling on a PP matter. Come to think of it I think it had to do with the Veritas exposure videos.

Odd you know. When you see pics of sniper gear a majority of the time it shows suppressor attached. I chalk that up to stupid press, it looks macho. Reality is beyond 500yrds the target is half way to the floor for a dirt nap before anyone hears the shot. At the distance that guy shot nearly 2 secs would have passed before anyone heard a thing. Night shot that dude is using a flash suppressor.

Solution: Bus them to California. For electoral purposes that state is a lost cause for us. Swamp them with their own compassion. Drive the State budget into the ground. Collapse the damn thing. Turn back into a territory.

This will be interesting case law. It will determine ‘who’ is responsible. It will also determine what are the consequences of a corporation committing vehicular homicide. Wish I had the time to sit in the gallery.
