Women Drivers

Hi, Stacy.
During the early weeks after the USS Fitzgerald was speared by a lumbering Philippine container ship, it was noteworthy that the captain and a couple of admirals were publically named, but not the actual officer in charge, the officer of the deck. (OOD) The other person who should have kept the Fitz out of trouble is the person in charge of the combat information center, the Tactical Action Officer. That individual is supposed to be monitoring the combat radar, which can detect a swimmer at a distance of two miles.
Not until a year later, when the final reports are made public and the guilty parties have been court-martialed, does the truth come out. The OOD was named Sarah, and the Tactical Action Officer was named Natalie, and they weren’t speaking to each other!!! The Tactical Action Officer would normally be in near constant communication with the OOD, but there is no record of any communication between them that entire shift!
Another fun fact: In the Navy that won WWII, the damage control officers were usually some of the biggest and strongest men aboard, able to close hatches, shore up damaged areas with timbers, etc. The Fitz’s damage control officer was also a woman, and she never left the bridge. She handled the aftermath of the accident remotely, without lifting a finger herself!
Look it up: The OOD was Sarah Coppock, Tactical Action Officer was Natalie Combs. . . .
When I noticed last year that they were doing all they could to keep the OOD’s name out of the headlines, I speculated to my son that it was a she. Turns out all the key people (except one officer in the CIC) were female!

Read the whole thing.

Two observations:

* People ponder why males of our species attempt to resolve intra-tribe spats as fast as possible. Well here is a prime example. Nothing must, even personalities, prevent protecting the tribe from external threats.

* Not absolution, but anything that happens on ship is the responsibility of the captain. E3 screws up its the captain in the dock and s#$^ rolls back down hill in response. The captain clearly did not have command of his ship even before the accident on the Fitzgerald.

The navy needs an overhaul starting at flag rank.

I am praying that our military has turned a corner on the PC bullshit. I did notice that yesterday the Army was going to [gasp!] prioritize ‘Combat Readiness’ training over ‘Social Sensitivity’ training. OMG!

The author nails the Democrat Party position perfectly:

==> ” The United States has absolutely no right to defend its southern border. None. Any attempt to do so, to enforce the nation’s immigration laws, passed by Congress and signed by multiple Presidents, is cruel, white nationalist, xenophobic, racist and probably contributes to global warming. All the hundreds of thousands of human beings who show up at that border must be allowed instant entry to the country, given immediate access to every existing social welfare and public benefit program, and be allowed to vote in the next election on a ballot in their own language.”

END OF THE GRAVY TRAIN: Class Action Suits Target Unions: Suits set to recover mandatory dues, fees paid by government workers.

Public-sector workers across the country are seeking to recover back wages they paid to labor organizations in the event the Supreme Court declares mandatory union fees unconstitutional.

Class action suits have been filed against eight unions in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Maryland, California, and the state of Washington, accusing individual unions of violating workers’ rights by collecting mandatory dues payments.

    Way off topic…

One more add on the ‘Red Hen Episode’.

I have seen seen no one mention this…maybe I really am the first.

The initiating action in this whole sick display of Leftist intolerance was a distraught EMPLOYEE phoning the restaurant owner to bemoan the presence in the restaurant of someone they disagreed with. In this case, Sarah Sanders.

Sarah Sanders was NOT causing a disturbance, or even discussing policy or issues with her family…she was just EATING. But the trembling employee could not and cannot abide ANYONE being anywhere near them who doesn’t kneel to the same Leftist gods that they do. And the restaurant owner AGREED! (and probably rewarded the kenn-eyed employee for spotting an enemy of humanity in their midst)

Nazis? You want Nazis? if the Left regains power I can easily see them demanding that all non-Leftists be required to wear ARMBANDS…so they can more easily identify them and subject them to “appropriate punishment”.

    Drdog09 –

It’s hardly just the Navy. Political correctness rules in today’s US military.

Remember after the Ft. Hood massacre when Gen. George Casey, Army Chief of Staff’s greatest concern was not the 14 people who were murdered nor the forty some that were wounded, but the effect the killings could have on diversity.

Hopefully, things are starting to turn around. As I posted yesterday:

Close. More likely they will recommend that we wear red MAGA hats as our mark of the devil. Problem? When everyone you meet is wearing a MAGA hat you start to wonder ‘could we storm the Bastille?’

17, “Potus travel ban entirely with-in his prerogative;”

Not only that but its the law as Congress intended POTUS to exercise.

Right out of the majority ruling —

“The INA establishes numerous grounds on which an
alien abroad may be inadmissible to the United States and
    ineligible for a visa. See, e.g., 8 U. S. C. §§1182(a)(1)
    (health-related grounds), (a)(2) (criminal history), (a)(3)(B)
(terrorist activities), (a)(3)(C) (foreign policy grounds).
Congress has also delegated to the President authority to
suspend or restrict the entry of aliens in certain circumstances.
The principal source of that authority, §1182(f),
enables the President to “suspend the entry of all aliens or
any class of aliens” whenever he “finds” that their entry
“would be detrimental to the interests of the United
    States.”1 “

Just rubbing her nose in it again…

Officials with the City of Lexington confirm Stephanie Wilkinson has resigned from her position as Executive Director with Main Street Lexington.

The announcement follows a Facebook post, made by the volunteer organization, stating that Wilkinson’s actions were made as owner of The Red Hen and “were taken independently from her role as executive director.”

Wilkinson has still declined to speak with any media, other than the Washington Post, in regards to her restaurant’s decision to ask White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to leave the establishment on Friday night.

That post has since been removed from the organization’s page.

The board for the committee is anticipated to meet Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. for further action.

apparently the Red Hag Hen restaurant was closed both Sunday and Monday…two days they are normally open.

Virtually ALL restaurants exist on a very tight margin…and DEPEND on repeat business and word of mouth. In the county where this alleged restaurant exists (for now) there are way more who will BOYCOTT this establishment for its intolerance than will patronize it because of it.

The harpy has been in hiding since this happened.
