The Left – Modern Day Book Burners

2018 September 11
by bc3b

Just as the Nazis burned books they disagreed with, today’s “Thought Nazis” on the left are working to suppress anything or anyone they disagree with.

We see it every day. CNN, the “alphabet networks,” Washington Post, NY Times and friends run with fake news and work to actively suppress any real news that goes against their agenda. Facebook, Twitter and other social media censor, ban or “shadow ban” opposing views.

Question: how is today’s left any different than the Nazis when it comes to suppressing the flow of information. Answer: they aren’t.

The deranged Left thinks it can control society by silencing all the voices it doesn’t like… just like Adolf Hitler believed as he ordered burning the books

(Natural News) Despite the fact that the social media behemoths are facing increasing scrutiny from Congress and POTUS Donald Trump over their censorship and banning of Right-leaning and conservative voices form their platforms, the attack on free speech is continuing unimpeded.

Late last week Twitter banned Infowars founder Alex Jones for life, and for nothing more than making one of his frequent detractors from CNN uncomfortable and posting the encounter to his Twitter feed.

As reported by NPR, the ban was due to “abusive behavior”:

Twitter on Thursday said it has “permanently suspended” conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and his InfoWars outlet, citing “new reports of Tweets and videos posted yesterday that violate our abusive behavior policy.”

This comes after YouTube, Apple, Facebook, and Spotify banned Jones’ content as well last month. Apple banned Infowars’ app as well last week.

In testimony before Congress, Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey actually claimed that his company doesn’t discriminate politically.

“I want to start by making something clear: we don’t consider political viewpoints, perspectives, or party affiliation in any of our policies or enforcement decisions. Period. Impartiality is our guiding principle,” he said.

Frankly, that’s garbage. And Infowars reporter Paul Joseph Watson knows it.

As Information Liberation notes, Watson spoke out about the Jones lifetime ban, especially after Twitter announced it was thinking about banning other accounts that are associated with him, which would include Watson’s as well.

That retribution-by-association has already started, actually. Watson said Twitter suspended him for actually posting the video showing Jones confronting CNN media reporter Oliver Darcy after he called on the social media giants to ban Jones.

Stating that he is going keep fighting against Big Tech’s censorship and “ride it until the wheels fall off,” he said there are 20 social justice warriors at Twitter deciding who can and cannot have a voice on the platform.

The Left can only exist in a world where only their thoughts are permitted. See ‘1984’

Just remember, where they burn books, they soon burn people.

drdog – saw the following. Pricey but like all technology should come down in price over time.

Interesting, but can it make a AR15 lower receiver??? 🙂 Saw a study about 8 weeks back that the true source of cost savings for using 3D print is not in the making but in the not having to store it. Companies in many cases have to guarantee replacement parts for what they make today for 5 years. When they or the customer can make the part on demand that warehouse is gone.

You are right. The crazy thing is as with all Progs its all narrative, no substance. For example that last three books written, the sources have denied the descriptions of what is going on. Omorossa says she has ‘the tapes’. Anybody heard any of them released? Exactly. This is a palace coup attempt and misinformation is part of the tool set.

drdog, I always thought the true benefit of 3d printing is exactly what you stated: the reduction of warehousing. And especially when we consider space travel and colonization of the moon and Mars. Since you don’t know which parts might need to be replaced, you’d either have to store spare parts of EVERY kind, or have the means to 3d print those that do break.

Indulge me please. I want to combine the OP and what GN pointed out in #2.

Yes the Nazis burned books. But books are the mere physical manifestation of thought put to paper. The same can be said of practically anything man makes on this planet; the idea came first the object second. The Nazis were essentially banning what should not be thought of.

The same can be said today but in a different form. Google modifying search results so that your topic of interest shows up 4 pages deep in the SEO. Twitter banning Alex Jones. They don’t care about Alex the person they care about the words and ideas Alex puts forth. Many bookstores won’t even display D’Sousa books, treating them like Playboy magazines like its back to the ’50’s. When you get right down to it even the argument about 2nd amendment is not about The Gun. Its about the idea that YOU have a right to defend yourself.

The Progs will take this to its ultimate conclusion. Defense Distributed has already been in several court battles over 3D printed guns. The suits have little to do with the device but the fact that DD was distributing the plans over the Internet. (plans are pure thought. You do have a copy right?) That is an attempt to ban a concept. Sex animatrons are being produced. There is even a shop in Vancouver where you can rent a session with one. Someone will eventually make one childlike for the perv trade. NY is already attempting to ban such a practice. Now before you do fist bumps for the idea icky as it is — where’s the victim, hence where is the crime? Or are we prepared to elevate hunks of metal and plastic to personhood? So are we prepared to lock people up for the desire for child sex even when they have never committed the physical act? If we are prepared to do that then how low are we willing to lower the bar? Lust for the hot blonde at the bar? The thought of killing someone but lack the tools to do it? Would Tom Cruse movies and their ilk be banned because they convey the thought of violence?

In our me too society today once the idea that banning thought was lawful it will never end. Even the Progs will be caught in the trap as it meat grinds everyone to dust.

    JR #6 –

Both my parents died in the late 1970s. If they came back today, they would be shocked by the changes in the world, the country and the Catholic Church.

Perhaps no place (other than perhaps Sweden) reflects these changes more than Kalifornia. Their public school system went from the nation’s best to one of the worst, people living in cars, governments working to attract illegal immigrants, the homeless and druggies, regulations, etc.. The left couldn’t have done more to destroy the state if it tried. On second thought, the left actually tried.

Jim – the snow flakes like to spew that they are the resistance, that they want to punch a NAZI in the face. But they can not even think of writing a check that they can not cash.

Unlike JR, IP, bc3b and other veterans who wrote that check.

Their Fusion Center probably works too! I drove to Florida after a tropical storm to check on the parents house. Up and down US98 every emporium was closed for lack of power — except Waffle House in Crystal River. They had rented a diesel gen set and were serving hash like nobody’s business.

That’s right. If you look at the left: harassment of Sarah Sanders and other Admin officials, attacks on GOP officeholders and candidates, online threats to conservatives, Google/Facebook/Twitter banning, attacks by corporations (long list: Dick’s, Nike, credit cards refusing transactions for anti-Islam Horowitz, NRA discount on Delta), petty attacks if you wear a MAGA hat or have a bumper sticker …. well the list can go on and on but the point is: it’s ambitious but the objective of the Left is to make it illegal to be a Republican. You don’t have to be breaking any law, you will still be shat upon. You won’t be hired if you donated to the GOP, you won’t get into college if you aren’t SJW, you can’t win a beauty pageant if you don’t speak PC slogans.

The election in Nov will be a watershed, and it won’t be the final watershed election.

Interesting PL article. They are not afraid to push back on AGW unlike some.
This article covers the selection of a scientist by Pres Trump for a Senior Director position.
The battle between hysterics and realists continues to rage, and the realists, of which there are many, are winning.

He told CNN in April 2017 that carbon dioxide is not the toxic “pollutant” it’s made out to be and “the temperature is not rising nearly as fast as the alarmist computer models predicted.”

That is indisputably true, and is admitted by alarmist scientists.

(CNN:) Happer, who is not a climate expert, specialized in atomic physics and the study of optics at Princeton.

This is where CNN goes out of its way to mislead its audience. In fact, Happer is a world-renowned expert in the precise scientific field that is most relevant to claims of catastrophic warming.

Thank you, be and everyone at BJG. What started out as a strong Cat 4 is now a moderate Cat 2, and the projected landfall has moved south to Wilmington, so we’re in better shape. Some of the outer bands are moving onshore now. Our biggest concern here in Morehead City is heavy rain and tidal surge up the Newport River. No problems yet but keeping an eye on the water levels.

    Thanks again.

Come to think of it I can’t cook a 4 course meal either… not one anyone would want to eat anyway. lol The rest of course I can and have often.

27 – Yeah heard that, once again (thankfully) weather-hysteria may not match reality – at least for coastal (big difference between c3 and c1 hitting shore), the rain and resulting flooding is always the persistent but less sexy story\problem, hopefully that too becomes less than expected – though I doubt it, shits gotta fall somewhere. 😉

On the topic and related comments… amen; so much insanity, and it’s only going to get worse. As for the on going coup – it continues unabated.

““I love Waffle House. You can rely on them when everyone else is closed.””

    Pretty true statement.

On 3d printing – Yup at least for up to medium scale, so long as you have the printers, the specs, and material to produce on hand, and the machine-queue-time, no need to keep more than a couple of said parts on hand – the rest can be made based on demand to back fill the couple you keep on the shelf vs the dozens (or hundreds) you used to due to having to do economical production runs. Huge win for businesses where it applies because inventory sucks up ton of cash\cashflow that could be put to more productive use. Also a win for consumers (or it should be in many cases), since you don’t have to pay the embedded ‘shelf\stock’ cost to the supplier\maker of having to keep so many sitting in the warehouse.

It’s awesome watching the whole 3d printing grow up, just 10 years ago when I was working for Quickparts (later acquired by 3dsystem) it was just barely a thing in the consumer space and just getting started outside the R&D\low rate production\prototype space, but since then it’s really blown up, and machines that used to cost 50k now cost <10k and can do far more, far faster and even more precision. I never worked with the things myself I just did IT but it was still fascinating the stuff we\and our source vendors could pull off for our customers and in the time-frames we could usually pull off\arrange.

I’d say this was shocking but it’s not. I was wondering back in late june\early july when he and all the associated videos on FB and then YT (where I watched literally a 300+ of them..omg so much wasted time lol) would start being removed and him being banned. It didn’t happen as quick as I thought it would, but apparently it’s started, all that says to me is he and the all the associated #walk-away videos and events were becoming even MORE effective (or at least seen that way by the g\fb\tw\ governors) than I already thought they were. Also shows guilt by any remote association is now all the rage at FB etc. Just mentioning the words alex jones or infowars gets you immediately banned. wow.
