Just Like Vampires and the Walking Dead …

… they just won’t die. Meanwhile Republicans like Martha McSally and Norm Coleman meekly fold their tents and head off into the darkness.

ATLANTA, Ga. – Stacey Abrams’ campaign and legal team is preparing an unprecedented legal challenge in the unresolved Georgia governor’s race that could leave the state’s Supreme Court deciding whether to force another round of voting.

The Democrat’s longshot strategy relies on a statute that’s never been used in such a high-stakes contest. It is being discussed as Georgia elections officials appear to be on the cusp of certifying Republican Brian Kemp as the winner of a bitterly fought campaign that’s been marred by charges of electoral malfeasance.

Top Abrams advisers outlined her prospective case to The Associated Press, stressing that the Democratic candidate hasn’t finalized a decision about whether to proceed once state officials certify Kemp as the victor. That could happen as early as Friday evening.

Allegra Lawrence-Hardy, Abrams’ campaign chairwoman, is overseeing a team of almost three-dozen lawyers who in the coming days will draft the petition, along with a ream of affidavits from voters and would-be voters who say they were disenfranchised. Abrams would then decide whether to go to court under a provision of Georgia election law that allows losing candidates to challenge results based on “misconduct, fraud or irregularities … sufficient to change or place in doubt the results.”

The legal team is “considering all options,” Lawrence-Hardy said, including federal court remedies. But the state challenge is the most drastic. And some Democratic legal observers note Abrams would be dependent on statutes that set a high bar for the court to intervene.

She already faces a narrow path to the governor’s mansion. Unofficial returns show Kemp with about 50.2 percent of more than 3.9 million votes. That puts him about 18,000 votes above the threshold required to win by a majority and avoid a Dec. 4 runoff. The Associated Press is not calling the race until state officials certify the results.

“…legal observers note Abrams would be dependent on statutes that set a high bar for the court to intervene.

    They’re joking, of course.

The Democrats OWN so many “Judges”, and the ones they don’t own, are already True Believers in THE RESISTANCE! So the “high bar” for getting a Court to intervene is actually lying on the ground…and some judge will just step over it.

Another election theft. Although she appears to be fighting back. But it is CA after all so I would not hold out any hope.

So either stop all White House briefings…or simply don’t call on the PUTZ

I prefer they just hand out a written briefing and call it a day. Let the activists reporters submit their questions in writing.

    6,
I would be in favor of disbanding WH press corp briefings totally. They can submit their questions thru the WH website that Obama set up. Press junkie submits a question. If it gets 50k queries of more then the WH responds. Answers are ranked based on most query responses first. That forces the Pressitutes to focus on questions important to Americans not the DC beltway.

It has been suggested that WH set up a Trump TV channel. Answers could be provided there. The room could be used for providing more space for staffers.

And if they refuse to call on Acosta, CNN will sue about that.

Trump needs to fire the quisling who vetted this judge, so we don’t wind up with a bunch of kennedy/souter types.

The judge based it on a 1977 rule inserted to hamstring Nixon. Trump’s legal team should have known about it and simply afforded Acosta a “hearing”…THEN locked him out.

At future press conferences, if any, Trump should simply say “One question per reporter…period. And ONLY if I call on you. All questions must be asked RESPECTFULLY, and without embedded prejudice. If someone breaks those rules I will simply leave the room.”

Stacey Abrams just released a statement declaring that she cannot win the Georgia Governor race.

Her first clue was the tens of thousands of votes by which she trails Kemp.

She said she decided to make the announcement after watching a re-run of Super Bowl XXXIII, when the fourth quarter ended with the score Denver 34, Atlanta 19. Although the Falcons flooded the field with lawyers demanding a FIFTH quarter, as well as demanding that the rules which allowed the Broncos to score so many points be CHANGED (and the points awarded to a “team of color”)…Denver was still declared the “winner” (Stacey used air-quotes” at that point.)

In case you missed it, Kemp won in GA. Abrams intends to file a federal lawsuit. I presume the case will be based on the fact that the ballots were not ‘diverse’ enough.

6 – Said that since week 1 of this administration. End the madness.
8 – Let them. Besides they’ll just shout out questions anyway and claim they ‘had’ too because they were not being called on. This whole thing is a bad bad bad joke. Zero in constitution about press access to WH, and I said the same under obama when he was thinking of toasting FNC network (as a whole) access, ‘that he can do it, it’ll look bad, but he can do it’.
