Someone should have told the Democrats to stop digging. Instead, the Dems sent for a Caterpillar.
Chuck Schumer just announced that Stacey Abrams – failed candidate for governor of Georgia – will give the Democrats rebuttal to the State of the Union address. It’s not clear whether Abrams can top the Chuckles the Clown and Nutty Nancy Show, but she is sure to give it her best shot.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer revealed on Tuesday that defeated Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams will give the Democratic response to the State of the Union address.
“I was very delighted when she agreed,” Schumer confirmed to Zach Cohen, the National Journal’s Senate correspondent.
Why Stacey Abrams? The Democrats are all about identity politics and Abrams is female and black. Maybe she can convert to Islam within the next few days and become the perfect choice.
In other news, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – the woman who single-handedly ended dumb blonde jokes – may be so bat-crap crazy that even the Democrats don’t want her.
At least one House Democrat has been privately urging members of the New York delegation to recruit a local politician from the Bronx or Queens to challenge Ocasio-Cortez.
“What I have recommended to the New York delegation is that you find her a primary opponent and make her a one-term congressperson,” the Democratic lawmaker, who requested anonymity, told The Hill. “You’ve got numerous council people and state legislators who’ve been waiting 20 years for that seat. I’m sure they can find numerous people who want that seat in that district.”
Stock up on beer (not Bud) and popcorn. This is getting interesting.

For once Schumer made the best decision.
