If They Think “Slo Joe” Is the Answer ….

2019 April 25
by bc3b

… they obviously haven’t heard the question.

The Biden candidacy – and the opposition it immediately faced – is illustrative of the major problems the Democratic Party has. There are two factions within the Democratic Party: the Progressives, who want radical change and support people like AOC, and Traditional Democrats, people whose parents and grandparents have been Democrats and don’t realize the party has left them.

Traditional Democrats view the Republicans as the Party of big business, which to a large degree it has been. The US Chamber of Commerce exercises a great deal of control and owns people like Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan. But, Traditional Democrats aren’t for reparations, banning air travel or the other crazy things the Progressive Democrats support.

Enter Joe Biden. Many view “Slo Joe” as a nice guy, a little too touchy/feely perhaps, but someone with whom they  can agree on a majority of issues. They saw Joe as a likeable VP, who didn’t make too many mistakes because Obama gave him zero power and responsibility. Biden never really struck out simply because Obama wouldn’t give him a turn at bat. Obama picked Biden as his VP simply because people thought Obama lacked foreign policy experience.

There are a few things people forget about Biden: 1. He is very gaffe prone. Do “7-11” and “Stand up Charlie” ring a bell? 2. He is not very smart. 3.Biden is a poor candidate. He attempted his presidential runs for 20 yeras before Obama named him to the ticket and never rose above 3%. 4. The Progressive wing of the Democratic Party will Never accept Biden. He is crazy, but not nearly crazy enough to suit them. 5. Biden is a straight, white male. The Democrats’ emphasis on diversity makes him dead on arrival. Bernie gets a pass because he was a commie before it became cool. Buttigieg is cool because he has a husband. Beto tried the fake Latino trick and has failed miserably. Inslee, Hickenlooper and all the rest of the white straight male wanna-bes are wasting their time and energy.

Biden is in a major bind: to have any possibility of getting the nomination, he is going to have move far left on things like reparations. If he moves far left, he will lose Traditional Democrats who may come to their senses and realize four more years of President Trump is in their best interest.

When Biden made his announcement, he was attacked from all sides. Not surprisingly, the first was from the far left.

A progressive political group that boosted New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez‘s bid for Congress last year vowed to oppose former Vice President Joe Biden in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary, blasting him as part of the “old guard” and accusing him of standing in opposition to the “center of energy” in the Democratic Party.

“While we’re going to support the Democratic nominee, we can’t let a so-called ‘centrist’ like Joe Biden divide the Democratic Party and turn it into the party of ‘No, we can’t,’” the group Justice Democrats said Thursday.

Biden announced his candidacy for president Thursday. He enters a crowded field of Democratic contenders aiming to unseat President Trump — nearly 32 years after he announced his first campaign for president. The campaign is Biden’s third bid for the White House, having also unsuccessfully run in 1988 and 2008.

You have to give Biden credit for being an equal opportunity groper. I wouldn’t even want to be in the same state with some of those women (including especially Hitlery). The one in the lower right isn’t bad.

Even Bill doesn’t want to be around Hitlery That’s why he ordered Web Hubbell to father Chelsea.

as much fun as the Democrat Clown Car is, remember that 95%+ of the media is going to cover for WHOMEVER the ultimate nominee is.

They are going to re-explain, consciously forget, and LIE to make whatever they say now disappear by the time the dust has settled from the Democrat convention.

eg: Obama’s “bitterly clinging to their God and guns” remark would have SUNK a Republican because it would have been played in a loop 24×7 and “dissected” by “panels of experts”. But in Obama’s case it DISAPPEARED almost immediately. Whereas Romney’s comment about Welfare recipients not being his constituency was construed as THE greatest insult in the history of spoken language!!!

    etc…

the ONLY person who can swim upstream against that current is…Donald Trump!! 🙂

There is a third faction and that is the well heeled oligarchy (Hollyweird & upper crust NGOs) that are aligned with the trad Dims. Not for love, but because that is the way half of them get favorable tax treatment (movie making) and the other half get free money (charities). If they think they can swing a better deal with the communists they will go for it with the progressives.

It’s got Slow Joe in it… but while this should be a huge scandal I know it’ll be swept under the rug like everything else. What almost interests me more at the moment is Manafort pieces and why in early January months before becoming Trumps campaign manager till the convention, the Obama WH was already suddenly every interested in Manafort again, having not been interested prior. More importantly, this was pre-delegate game\managment so how exactly did Obama know Manafort was going to be involved more later, spying\tapping manafort, or grape vine via manafort and podesta connection? Is my memory off when it was even first rumored manafort was joining the campaign team?

For folks who claimed\acted publicly like Trump was going to be off the primary scene by the end of February, they sure as hell were not acting like it behind the scenes.

anyway read the whole thing as they say:

“How the Obama White House engaged Ukraine to give Russia collusion narrative an early boost”
    BY JOHN SOLOMON

As Donald Trump began his meteoric rise to the presidency, the Obama White House summoned Ukrainian authorities to Washington to coordinate ongoing anti-corruption efforts inside Russia’s most critical neighbor.

The January 2016 gathering, confirmed by multiple participants and contemporaneous memos, brought some of Ukraine’s top corruption prosecutors and investigators face to face with members of President Obama’s National Security Council (NSC), the FBI, State Department and Department of Justice (DOJ).

The agenda suggested the purpose was training and coordination. But Ukrainian participants said it didn’t take long — during the meetings and afterwards — to realize the Americans’ objectives included two politically hot investigations: one that touched Vice President Joe Biden’s family, and one that involved a lobbying firm linked closely to then-candidate Trump.

U.S. officials “kept talking about how important it was that all of our anti-corruption efforts be united,” said Andrii Telizhenko, then a political officer in the Ukraine embassy in Washington tasked with organizing the meeting.

Telizhenko, who no longer works for the Ukraine embassy, said U.S. officials volunteered during the meetings — one of which was held in the White House’s Old Executive Office Building — that they had an interest in reviving a closed investigation into payments to U.S. figures from Ukraine’s Russia-backed Party of Regions.

That 2014 investigation was led by the FBI and focused heavily on GOP lobbyist Paul Manafort, whose firm long had been tied to Trump through his partner and Trump pal, Roger Stone.

Agents interviewed Manafort in 2014 about whether he received undeclared payments from the party of ousted Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich, an ally of Russia’s Vladimir Putin, and whether he engaged in improper foreign lobbying.

The FBI shut down the case without charging Manafort.

Telizhenko said he couldn’t remember whether Manafort was mentioned during the January 2016 meeting. But he and other attendees recalled DOJ officials asking investigators from Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) if they could help locate new evidence about the Party of Regions’ payments and its dealings with Americans.

“It was definitely the case that led to the charges against Manafort and the leak to U.S. media during the 2016 election,” he said.

That makes the January 2016 meeting one of the earliest documented efforts to build the now-debunked Trump-Russia collusion narrative and one of the first to involve the Obama administration’s intervention.

Spokespersons for the NSC, DOJ, and FBI declined comment. A representative for former Obama national security adviser Susan Rice did not return emails seeking comment.

Nazar Kholodnytskyy, Ukraine’s chief anti-corruption prosecutor, told me he attended some but not all of the January 2016 Washington meetings and couldn’t remember the specific cases, if any, that were discussed.

But he said he soon saw evidence in Ukraine of political meddling in the U.S. election. Kholodnytskyy said the key evidence against Manafort — a ledger showing payments from the Party of Regions — was known to Ukrainian authorities since 2014 but was suddenly released in May 2016 by the U.S.-friendly NABU, after Manafort was named Trump’s campaign chairman: “Somebody kept this black ledger secret for two years and then showed it to the public and the U.S. media. It was extremely suspicious.”

Kholodnytskyy said he explicitly instructed NABU investigators who were working with American authorities not to share the ledger with the media. “Look, Manafort’s case is one of the cases that hurt me a lot,” he said. “… I ordered the detectives to give nothing to the mass media considering this case. Instead, they had broken my order and published themselves these one or two pages of this black ledger regarding Paul Manafort.

“For me it was the first call that something was going wrong and that there is some external influence in this case. And there is some other interests in this case not in the interest of the investigation and a fair trial,” he added.

Kostiantyn Kulyk, deputy head of the Ukraine prosecutor general’s international affairs office, said that, shortly after Ukrainian authorities returned from the Washington meeting, there was a clear message about helping the Americans with the Party of the Regions case.

“Yes, there was a lot of talking about needing help and then the ledger just appeared in public,” he recalled.

Kulyk said Ukrainian authorities had evidence that other Western figures, such as former Obama White House counsel Greg Craig, also received money from Yanukovich’s party. But the Americans weren’t interested: “They just discussed Manafort. This was all and only what they wanted. Nobody else.”

Manafort joined Trump’s campaign on March 29, 2016, and then was promoted to campaign chairman on May 19, 2016.

NABU leaked the existence of the ledgers on May 29, 2016. Later that summer, it told U.S. media the ledgers showed payments to Manafort, a revelation that forced him to resign from the campaign in August 2016.

A Ukrainian court last December concluded NABU’s release of the ledger was an illegal attempt to influence the U.S. election. And a member of Ukraine’s parliament has released a recording of a NABU official saying the agency released the ledger to help Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

The other case raised at the January 2016 meeting, he said, involved Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company under investigation in Ukraine for improper foreign transfers of money. At the time, Burisma allegedly was paying Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, as both a board member and a consultant. More than $3 million flowed from Ukraine to an American firm tied to Hunter Biden in 2014-15, bank records show.

Telizhenko said U.S. officials told the Ukrainians they would prefer that Kiev drop the Burisma probe and allow the FBI to take it over. The Ukrainians did not agree. But then Joe Biden pressured Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to fire Ukraine’s chief prosecutor in March 2016, as I previously reported. The Burisma case was transferred to NABU, then shut down.

That’s rarely a bind for Democrats. Running left and then moving center and having the MSM et all cover for you like you never said those thing in the primary.
At least it used to be, video now a days is too accessible, and unlike past opponents Trump2020 team ain’t likely to shy away from using the ‘any way the wind blows joe’… a rehash of campaign 2004 in some ways. Still it could work like it used too, certainly did in 2008 and 2012.

You know how biden could win… by simply telling the extreme left to stfu, that while he hears them, some of them sound like lunatics, that there are better ways to accomplish what they want, that if they want to beat Trump they need to cut out the nonsense, that they’re scaring people, but he’ll not do any of that.

Err doesn’t the FAA (and probably 100 other agencies) have to certify these airports in various ways? 14,

Analysis correct but you won’t see it. Why? Because ‘Trump Bad’ is all the Dims have to run with in 2020. If the move on shtick is pressed forward the Dims give up one of their primary weapons against Trump.

Use Avanetti against Trump. Nope he’s tied in with what they just threw away.
Use collusion without impeachment. Nope cause Trump will just wave the Mueller report and it will be dead.
    Use …..

Its all tied like a Gordian knot. All that the Dims would use for the election is nullified because it is tainted in some form or fashion with a discredited collusion charge. Immigration is poison for them vs the larger population. Economy? Trump owns that. Defense. Uh dare let Trump bring up Hillary? The Dims essentially set their own trap.

Post 10 Any FAA cert (part 139) pertains to air carrier ops with more than 9 pass but less than 31 pass. The feds would also be certifying the ILS and other navigation systems. As such this mayor has no authority to try this end run around ICE. If push comes to shove ICE could simply operate out of Mchord AFB which would allow greater pass loads. There are probably airport subsidies that could be cut as well, not to mention an illegal restraint of trade via inter states comm etc etc.

As part of the Green New Deal, New York will power all of the city’s operations with energy generated from clean sources, such as Canadian hydropower. The city is also rolling out the mandatory recycling of organics, congestion traffic pricing, and phasing out city-wide purchases of single-use plastic utensils.

Now I am sure that the wardens at the various criminal holding facilities in the city will love that idea! NYC wishes to die.
