This is the statement from the utterly moronic Dallas DA:

Theft of Necessary Items Study after study shows that when we arrest, jail, and convict people for non-violent crimes committed out of necessity, we only prevent that person from gaining the stability necessary to lead a law-abiding life. Criminalizing poverty is counter-productive for our community’s health and safety. For that reason, this office will not prosecute theft of personal items less than $750 unless the evidence shows that the alleged theft was for economic gain.

The whole statement is horseshit…but these three pieces were especially odiferous:

    – “non-violent crimes committed out of necessity”. EATING is a “necessity”…therefore I can steal ALL THE FOOD I NEED, and NEVER work for it, and NOT be prosecuted in Dallas? Clothing is a “necessity” as well…so shoplifting clothing will NOT be prosecuted either.

    – “we only prevent that person from gaining the stability necessary to lead a law-abiding life.” As I read that sentence I fully expected a White Rabbit to run past me telling me he is “late for a very important date!” We are THAT far down the rabbit hole. Making someone CONFORM to the laws & norms of civilization will PREVENT them “gaining the stability necessary to lead a law-abiding life”??? This is well beyond insanity!

    – “Criminalizing poverty”??? No, we’re “Criminalizing” ILLEGAL behavior like, well, THEFT. Under this DA’s moronic rule you don’t have to be in “poverty” to be exempt from prosecution…you just have to have a “necessity”. eg.: It’s cold outside, and I forgot my coat…hey, there’s one hanging right there in that store…I NEED it now!

Where the hell do get idiots like this DA? Oh yeah, the Democrat Party!!

Said DA will be looking for new work Sec. 87.011.(2) has sufficient leeway to drive a Freighliner thru…

The trick will be a bunch of PoPo need to dump a bunch of arrest warrants for $500, B Class Mis in Tx, on the DA’s desk and see what happens. The minute a single one of those warrants are dropped Abbott has this guys a$$. Perps better watch it. PoPo if they want to execute some recreational terrorism on the DA they arrest everyone from spitting on the sidewalk on up.

8 – Easy, continue to just ignore it like they have been, no coverage or questions with followup no problems.

Didn’t a Dallas DA turn up dead a few years ago, or was that somewhere else in TX?

I think some of you have been pointing this out for a decade now if not longer. 😉

Great I get back home and now in addition to e.coli we have Hep-A on the rise.
GA ain’t alone, sadly it’s plaguing CA and some other states as well.
I’m sure massive amounts of unchecked illegal’s have absolutely nothing to do with the rise of these and other re-emergence of disease (recall recently also reading resistant TB on major rise, measles cases popping up left and right) in recent years. :eyeroll:

    Canada goes Hard Fascist
Last week, Justice Francesca Marzari of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Canada, declared a father guilty of “family violence” against his 14-year-old daughter on the sole basis that he had engaged in “expressions of rejection of [her] gender identity.” These “expressions” revolved entirely around his polite refusal to refer to his daughter as a boy in private, and his steady choice to affirm that she is a girl in public.
As previously reported, the BC Supreme Court ordered in February that 14-year-old Maxine* receive testosterone injections without parental consent. Accordingly, Maxine began regular injections at British Columbia (BC) Children’s Hospital over the course of the last two months.

Her father, Clark*, strongly objects to this treatment and immediately sought to reverse the decision in the BC Court of Appeal. Hoping to raise awareness of his case, Clark gave a number of interviews to media outlets, including The Federalist. In these interviews, he repeatedly referred to his daughter as a girl, stating to The Federalist that “she is a girl. Her DNA will not change through all these experiments that they do.”

While many might take this to be an honest statement of biological fact, Marzari quoted it as a prime example of Clark’s “family violence of a public denial of [Maxine’s] gender identity.” Marzari convicted Clark of this violence, and issued a “protection order” preventing him from speaking to journalists or the public about his case.
