Truth Is the New Hate Crime

2019 April 19
by bc3b

There have been lots of examples during the past week in which the media buried the truth or suppressed open discussion because of political correctness.

Perhaps the most obvious was Neil Cavuto and Shepard Smith cutting off any discussion of arson in the fire that engulfed Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris even though there have been hundreds of incidents of vandalism and, yes, arson involving Catholic churches in France within the past year.

Then there was an incident at the Mall of America in Minneapolis in which a black man picked up a five-year old white boy and threw him over a railing three stories. The boy was in critical condition, but the story has been killed. Try “Googling” to check on the boy’s condition. Good luck.

The latest incident took place in downtown Chicago this week as 500 (black) TEENS rampaged  through the Loop rioting and looting. No mention of race even though all the perps were black.

What if the roles had been reversed? Would  Shepard Smith and Neil Cavuto entertained speculation of arson had the fire destroyed a black church in the south or a mosque anywhere in the US? Imagine the media coverage and outrage and national discussion on racism had a white man thrown a five-year old black boy three stories at the Mall of America.

Colin Flaherty addresses the Chicago riot:

Chicago picked a strange time to go all colorblind on us. The occasion was the occasional riot in one of America’s premier high-end shopping districts: the Magnificent Mile.

Wednesday night, 500 people rampaged through downtown looting, destroying property, attacking white people, defying police, stopping traffic, threatening tourists, and created lots of mayhem and chaos.

All on video. Some of which you can find here.

If local media is to be believed, race had nothing to do with the fact that every single one of the rioters was black.

Strange behavior from a local media that is obsessed with race, especially white racism and black victimization. Every day, it is easy to find stories in Chicago about black schools, black politicians, black businesses, black neighborhoods, black income, black funeral homes, black mayors, black police chiefs, black district attorneys, black football players, black baseball players, black churches, black music, black television, black movies, black actors (wassup Jussie!!!), black history, black community activists, black nationalists and of course all the things that white people do to constantly aggravate them and force them into crime and violence wildly out of proportion.

Sorry about that. My check for reparations is in the mail.

This colorblindness may not be a permanent affliction, but it is at least the third time this year local media have come down with it.

Last Saturday night, a couple of hundred of the fellas and lovely ladies did pretty much the same thing in the same place.

Ditto a few weeks before that.

To their credit, at least the Second City Cop blog and CWBChicago.com let us know about the violence and the official indifference to it. But even these usually stalwart sources of good info about Chicago just could not bring themselves to mention that, for at least the third time this year, Chicago had a good old-fashioned race riot.

The Fox affiliate did not even report the violence: They only real thing that happened was a large police presence “triggered,” apparently, for no reason whatsoever except for “monitoring.”

At least the NBC affiliate tried: Their crew said a large number of police where there for “crowd control,” and their ace reporter actually found an actual rioter to speak with. Though there is no video record of it, she said the “teen” told her they were down there doing something or other because they do not have anything else to do. Or anywhere else to do it.

Move along. Nothing to see here.

On the other hand, the media is searching through the Mueller Report, speculating all sorts of horrible things about President Trump:

I posted this the other day, but it fits perfectly with this post:

Conservative:Why won’t Leftists allow views they disagree with to be expressed in public?
Leftist:Nonsense! We welcome opposing views…as long as they are not Hate Speech!
    Conservative: What constitutes ‘Hate Speech’?
    Leftist: Opposing views.

Opposing Views, “Inconvenient” TRUTH, and logic are HATE SPEECH if they conflict with Leftist orthodoxy, or reflect badly on one or more “protected” classes.
The Riots and rampaging in Chicago cannot be accurately reported on, for to do so would reflect poorly on the RIOTERS!

I have lived in both Chicago and Detroit. While Chicago has always been corrupt, it was once one of the safer big cities in the US (except on Valentine’s Day). It was also the major city with the largest white demographic.

Today, Detroit is actually trying to improve, while Chicago and Illinois are falling apart.

I listened to a podcast interview with Colin Flaherty last year.
Seemed like a stand-up, principled kind of guy.

I bet Chicago has strict limits on carry.

Silly me: I view a prosecutor saying he won’t prosecute stealing less than $750 makes stealing less than $750 legal. This guy may make Dallas as crime-free as Chicago.

In Kalifornia we already have this law! The article below doesn’t tell the half of it. The rise in thefts is vastly MORE than they talk about…because most thefts now are not even reported, and if they are, then the police will NOT respond, and thus they are not officially logged.

The way to lower the crime rate? Just declare things like THEFT to not be a crime! In San Francisco, thieves know EXACTLY how much they can steal and not be arrested. And if caught they are given a TICKET…and told to report to a pay a FINE. None do, of course. Thus in SF people literally do not lock their cars in most places, which saves the cost of repairing the car, since thieves WILL smash their way in and steal UNDER $900 worth of whatever is in there.

It has several effects: 1. As you said, lowers the crime rate; 2. increases the cost of goods to honest people as stores have to make up the loss somehow; 3. drives small merchants out of business.

I’m sure there are more effects, but those are off the top of my head.

So, if you need/want a new TV, why not just walk into Best Buy and walk out with a 60-inch model that’s on sale for $899?

    BC,

Your larger point about the Texas DA is correct. Why the $750 valuation? That is the half way point according to TX law that make the crime a Class A misdemeanor, $500-1500. That can get you a $4000 fine and up to 1yr in the pokey. You have heard of ‘policing for profit’ right? Bet you have not heard of ‘prosecuting for profit’ though.

Think if through. A conniving DA could look at their bureaus case load on average cost to prosecute, win or lose. Back out a third for unrecoverable even if successful giving them the baseline of cost per prosecution for misdemeanors. Said DA runs down the list of what is the maximum fine value. Anything below that is costing the bureau money. $750 ends up being that DA’s strike price. Any recovery above that is ‘profit’.

Dallas has even bigger issues with the PoPo. As in they can’t hire any. The surrounding burbs with a better tax base are able to compete better on salary for the same work. That and Dallas like Chicago their urban cores are deteriorating. Businesses are relocating North to the Plano area and South to the Ellis county area. Less crime and less congestion.

    EndGame: Segregation

When I grew up in Florida segregation and Jim Crow laws were already in force. Whites on one side, Blacks the other. It was just the way it was.

Segregation was defeated in the 60’s regardless of your views on the matter.

Well segregation is BACK! But it has an odd twist this time around. The ‘oppressed’ are asking for it not the Whites. Multiple colleges now have members-of-color only dorms. Much of what went down at Evergreen college was an act of self segregation by other than non-Whites. There are social clubs all over that are ‘no whites allowed’. Hell, GA had some political primary events where white reporters were barred from covering the event. Its happening up and down the social structure.

What to do? How about nothing? If that is what they want, give it to them good and hard. But it is we Whites who will have to restructure since we are the only class with the skills and resources to accomplish it. And that is happening as well. Whites are moving to the countryside in large numbers away from close in burbs and urban cores. The gentrification phenom with the Millenials died as they to are moving out of the cities.

As one of my favorite movie lines say — Remember you asked for this.

They DO when they can. Most stores are better protected against shoplifting, so the thieves focus on smaller crimes against the unwitting…like tourists. Plus, they want easily fenced products, and TVs aren’t.

The ONLY people who obey the law in California are those who would anyway…and they are the ONLY ones prosecuted, since they have something to lose.

Here in Silicon Valley, my “NextDoor” feed gets regular reports of car break-ins and stolen packages due to the Proposition passed some years ago. (see 10 above).

    It’s sinking in to people.

I’m reminded of a point made by Law Prof Reynolds over at InstaPundit blog.
I paraphrase: Police are not on the side of the crooks, of course. But they protect crooks. Without police, vigilantism comes to the fore. Somebody robs you? Shoot ’em. Someone rapes your daughter? Remove his man-parts forcefully. And sometimes an innocent falls victim to the vigilantes.
With the police in the picture, the accused get a set of procedures and rights, and they’re guarded by someone who is not the direct victim of your crime.

Criminals: be careful what you wish for.
