WaPo Links Sri Lanka Attacks to Far-Right

Unless you have been living under a rock, you realize how differently the MSM has treated the Christchurch massacre and the Sri Lanka massacres.

For example, at CNN Christchurch was non-stop coverage. With Sri Lanka CNN didn’t interrupt its Sunday morning programming at all (not that anyone watches it) and Sri Lanka quickly became “page 2 news.”

Many have taken offense to the media and leading Democrats (e.g. Hillary) referring to the victims as “Easter Worshipers” rather than Christians.

The reasons are obvious:

  • Democrats and the media will do anything to defend Muslims, regardless of how violent or bigoted (e.g. Omar) they are against Christians and Jews. Any time there’s Islamic terrorism, no matter how violent, the media downplays it and buries it as quickly as possible
  • Democrats and the media are very anti-Christian; just as they saw Covington Catholic as the perfect opportunity to attack everything they despise (Catholics, Catholic schools, the pro-life movement and Trump supporters), they saw Christchurch as an opportunity to attack white people, push the concept of Islamophobia and promote gun control.

Perhaps no one was as dishonest as the Washington Post, which tried to link the Sri Lanka massacres to the right.

  • The Washington Post sparked backlash after framing an article around the reaction of the “far right” to the anti-Christian terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka.

  •  The Post’s article cast doubt on well-documented persecutions of Christians around the world.

  • The Post has made a habit of reframing global tragedies around “the far right.”

The Washington Post provoked an online backlash on Monday after publishing an article that said the recent terrorist attacks targeting Christians in Sri Lanka fueled “far-right anger in the West.”

The article, labeled as analysis rather than straight reporting, provided just the latest example of the Post reframing a global tragedy around the “far right.”

Critics took the Post to task for making mass murder of hundreds of Christians about the “far right” and for casting skepticism on the persecution that Christians face across persecution around the world. (Pew Research Center lists Christians as the religious group most subjected to religiously motivated harassment from both state actors and non-state actors.)

“To some, it was further proof that Christians in many parts of the world are under attack,” Post reporters Adam Taylor and Rick Noack wrote. National Review editor Charles Cooke tweeted in response: “For whom was it not evidence of this?”

Additionally, the Washington Examiner’s Becket Adams wrote: “Yes, right-wing reactionaries have commented on the bombings. So have former presidents, members of Congress, athletes, actors, and so on.”

“It is nothing short of astonishing that the Post published an entire article focusing on how some bad people have stumbled on to a truth (that Christians are being persecuted) and then worked to discredit that truth because some bad people support it,” continued Adams.

    Yeah yeah that’s the ticket and the those darn “Easter worshipers”…. that one really got my goat, particularly the “collusion” in using that description.

    Huh. Like there is a difference? It is becoming clearer by the day that if Muslim is your faith there is something wrong in your head. Of all the religions Christianity is the only one that has as its central tennent a chance for redemption.
