Biggest Losers of All?

Well you might say the Democrats and those in the Deep State and you would be right. But there is even a bigger loser — The Media.

We already see that in Rachael Maddows’ numbers drop in viewership. Dan Lemon is beside himself in being able to come up with a new narrative. The old MSM legacy networks are still touting collusion but the fervor is gone and ‘cover up’ is weak gruel without an associated criminal act.

The legacy media has been losing for years now due to the presence of the Internet and the explosion of alternate media sources. For example, take away NYT’s syndication feeds to most pulp media and all you have left is a mid-sized regional paper, no better than the Chicago Sun Times or LA Times. What has kept them afloat was their perceived truthfulness. Sadly that too has been chipped away over time. The exposure of the redacted source documents of Russiagate will blow the last remnants of that thinking. At that point the legacy media is no better than the Pravda of old, fact the current version of Pravda might be a better source these days.

So how are they in existential peril? Debt structures. Most of the legacy media have a high debt load and are trapped with a infrastructure that will not permit a soft landing to lower operating costs. (rotary presses ain’t cheap.) Nor will a shift to digital free them of it. That high debt load is on their books and not isolated. So each entity will crash individually at some point. You then ask yourself who is left standing?

Why conservative news. Having been shoved out of the legacy media the conservative voices moved first to radio and finally to online. But Dog, the liberals are there too. Yes, but remember Air America? How did that fare in the marketplace? I expect the same results in the digital space over time. At best liberal media can muster 30% share. That may not be enough to support the liberal voices out there. Fact it is already happening on the Left fringe. Sites like Salon.com and Vox are selling for pennies on the dollar. Even Snopes is having issues and might have to close. Flat out the conservative voice is better positioned in the marketplace so long as they stick to the truth.

Let the woe continue.

There was a time when CNN and the rest of the media covered far more news than just politics. Both CNN founder Ted Turner and long-time host Larry King have criticized CNN for becoming too political.

These days everything is agenda-driven – the Christchurch massacre was covered for weeks. Sra Lanka, in which fives times the people were killed, was dropped ASAP as it didn’t fit the media agenda.

The recent STEM school shooting was buried as soon as the media discovered the perps were a tranny and a gay who hated Trump and Christians.

Because of cable fees cable “news” (a term I use loosely) are willing to destroy their ratings for ideology.

CNN has already done this, forsaking the traditional “news junkie” audience for the far-left tin foil hat brigade.

At Fox News the agenda of management is far different than its viewers and prime time hosts that deliver the huge ratings. The network is moving left and so far it hasn’t had much of an impact because viewers feel there is no other place to go.

I signed a one-year contract, which is up in November. Then I am dropping cable so CNN, ESPN, MSNBC and, yes, FNC will no longer get any money from me.

These Machiavellian ditchcarp of the demonkrat milieu,
They went a bridge too far in trying to give us the screw,
Their best laid plans have been rendered asunder,
It will now be our turn to plow them under,
Who knew they were capable of such political seppuku?

The country is dividing itself into the easily led, and skeptical. The media is in charge of the easily led…and the Educational Mafia is doing their best to fill their ranks going forward.

Again, but for the election of Donald Trump, NONE of what we are finding out would EVER have become known!

As opposed to all the leftist commercials preaching against masculinity and with drag queens, Marathon just had a very tasteful commercial saluting veterans in observance of Memorial Day.

Americans have recognized BS for a while. 2005 was the last year a majority said they trusted the media.

    Eph #11 –

True, but I would be willing to bet that the media can still drive 5% – 10% of the vote in an election.

while the media may only drive an ADDITIONAL 10% of the vote, they LOCK IN about 30% of the brain-damaged Democrats (major redundancy there) in every election. The 60% remaining is where the battlefield is. Trump won that battlefield in 2016, but the Dems/media cabal will try even harder this time,

Jim, it looks more and more like Trump’s biggest opponent in 2020, and beyond, is the utterly out-of-control JUDICIARY!

Good point JR. I don’t have the stat handy but something like 37 rulings against Trump SO FAR and only a couple dozen in the preceding 100 years.
    It’s time to get unruly.
