Do the DEMs Realize their Predicament?

It’s very, very doubtful that they do. With every new Democrat that takes his/her place it the clown car it pushes all the Democratic candidates even farther to the left – on open borders, reparations, the LGBTQ agenda, health care for people in the US illegally, the Green Bill of Rights, free tuition, socialism, gun control, infanticide, Islamophobia and an endless list of other issues.

To secure the Democratic nomination, every candidate believes he/she has to appeal to the crazies. Not one single candidate is willing to discuss the real issues, which makes life (and the the possibility for re-election) better for Donald Trump.

Joe Biden is the current front runner. But, we know from history that Joe is likely one of the least intelligent members of the clown car. Rather than letting the others fight battles over identity politics, Biden has joined the fray with his latest: we have an “obligation” to provide health care to people in the US illegally. There was a reason Biden never polled higher than low single-digits during his previous presidential campaigns; he’s a human gaffe machine waiting to kick into high gear.

In the New York Sun, Conrad Black writes:

The full proportions of the debacle that awaits the Democrats next fall is starting to penetrate their complacent disdain and revulsion toward President Trump. Rank-and-file Democrats are so ecstatic at the arrival of a known candidate whose views on principal policy issues cannot be invoked by Republicans to frighten children into eating their breakfast cereal that they have accorded Joe Biden a levitation in the polls.

Mr. Biden is a shopworn, moth-eaten, malapropistic journeyman about whom, when asked to assess him as a potential president, former bipartisan defense secretary and CIA director Robert Gates took four seconds to emit: “I don’t know.” In the land of the Ocasio-Cortez sound-alikes, a track-worn perennial candidate is king.

Given how verbally accident-prone Mr. Biden has been throughout his nearly 50 years of public life, his present formidable lead in the polls against an immense field of candidates should be seen as the fulfilment of Democratic yearning for someone who would not alarm the voters in policy terms. The only other such candidate is the relatively unknown Amy Klobuchar.

All Americans, even the president’s most strenuous supporters, should be comforted that the majority of Democrats can still think and count. It is a party infested with lunatics, but not controlled by them. This is in the same reassuring category as the Mueller investigation’s conclusion that no one in the United States colluded with Russians to influence the result of the 2016 election.

Beneath the initial success of the Biden campaign, the Democrats are sharply divided between those who are still trying to place their bets on the presidential unsuitability of the incumbent, those who seek a radical démarche to the left and over the political cliff, and those trying to get back to essentially the old slightly-left-of-center coalition of Franklin Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy, and Johnson.

President Clinton, and even, with a stretch, Mrs. Clinton, were also in that tradition, but the ominous approaching clouds of investigative curiosity about the Clinton Foundation and the malodorous ethics of the 2016 Clinton campaign have caused the Clintons’ party to stampede from under them.

Even Barack Obama, who was cozily settling into a good 30 years as a respected ex-president, is already in the crosshairs of the investigation, conducted against the Clinton campaign, of illegal espionage on the Trump campaign through fraudulently obtained FISA warrants and planted agents and sting operations. The rabidly Trumpophobic texting between former FBI agent Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page reveals that “the White House” was closely monitoring the investigation of the Trump campaign, which raises the question of the involvement of the former president in illegal surveillance.

Everyone agrees that China cheats and ignores World Trade Organization rulings, and practically every trading nation in the world applauds the U.S. president’s stance in this dispute. Eighty percent of the U.S. GDP is domestic commerce, and with a year to reorient itself, it could practically end all imports. China is a debt-ridden house of cards built on what is still a 40% command economy, rotten with official corruption in a country with few natural resources and 300 million people who still live as their ancestors did a thousand years ago.

Barring something completely unforeseeable, this president will have a stronger argument for reelection next year than any president since Richard Nixon in 1972 after his extraordinarily successful first term, if not Franklin D. Roosevelt’s double reelections in 1936 and 1944.

Booker and Harris are pushing the candidates to the left on reparations and affirmative action. Buttigieg on LGBTQ issues. Sanders on socialism. Biden on free health care for illegals. Fauxahontas on climate change.

Whatever any of the candidates propose, no matter how nutty, unrealistic or unaffordable it is, no one questions it. Instead, it also becomes part of every candidate’s agenda.

Dems spout madness, yet there is a floor of 47% that will vote for any old lunatic.
Still, cautiously positive on the ’20 election and what a great result out of Oz yesterday.

ah, but this comment from 2014 (used frequently over at Instapundit) explains the Democrats “secret weapon” perfectly:

The guy with the best shot is O’Rourke. He does not have a track record to spear him and has not accomplished a damn thing in life. Biden, early out of the gate he has an organization to use, but his innate gafftastic style kills him down the stretch.

Mitt is calling Amash “courageous”. I guess that’s all you need to know.

From Twitter, I think the topic is the surprising result from Australian election.

    Anyone notice a pattern?
    A) Mainstream commentators decide amongst themselves that right-of-center positions are only held by a bad fringe.
    B) Voters then lie to pollsters in response.
    C) A vote is held.
    D) Same commentators switch to complaining about dangers of “populism”.

Saw this posted too. I guess they are missing the “Vichy GOP” and “Code Pink Republicans” aka GOPe, lol
I think it is InstaPundit who invented the phrase “You want more Trump? Because this is how you get more Trump” after various Dem overreachings.

Personally I think we are going to see farther and farther right results and it will be because the Left took out the reasonable center-right in painting it as bigoted. This is opening the door to right wing extremism. That is, we are in the process of creating the right we fear.

Your opponent will think you are Far Right when they have drifted Far Left. That happens even if you are standing still politically. Notice a trend??? —

as the author notes, unless you look like this, you are NOT a “spy”:

    12, So lets recap:

    In FBI parlance….

    * A spy is a guy/gal standing at the sidewalk watching the dinner party inside the restaurant and reporting their findings to a superior.

    * A confidential informant is a guy/gal invited to the dinner party inside the restaurant and reporting their findings to a superior.

The difference between the two is a mere dinner invitation? I find that substantively lacking at least for legal purposes.

    drdog, in re. #13…yup!!

But it gets ever worse, hair-splitting wise, for the FBI. Because apparently they DID try to entrap multiple Trump people by approaching them…which means they “crashed” the “dinner party” (to continue your analogy).

Australia’s conservative coalition secures outright parliamentary majority. The left, which ran on global warming and wokeness, is having a nervous breakdown.

Yet the “LEFT” has no clue that Globalism is on the wane. When the average person (regardless of country) is worse off, they reject what the “LEFT” is selling. Globalism was suppose to be the answer to make everyone better off. Epic Failure.

15 – We do need such, but thus far doesn’t look like we’ll see such, instead we get circular finger pointing and nobody of substance (needed to make future fkholes at least think twice) going to prison.

Any and EVERY time the media describes assailants generically as “males” or “youths”, they are telling you that the assailants are part of a “protected class”. In this case Somali “refugees” brought to America en masse by Lord Obama.

I have been thinking (yeah, hold my beer ….) if I were Trump I might take a different tact on the whole Russiagate thing.

    * Tell Barr to cease on the usual investigative track and keep his powder dry as that will be plan B.
    * Pull a bevy of junk yard dog lawyers together. At the personal level sue the DOJ, FBI, State Dept, GCHQ, etc for violation of civil rights, criminally. Remember this all started BEFORE he even announced he was running — a private citizen.
    * At another level sue the principals involved; Comey, Yates, Jarrett, Rosenstein, Misfud, Halder, etc civilly for conspiracy to violate civil rights. Trump does not care if he wins, for his ultimate goal is to bankrupt each and every one of them in the courts. (the process IS the punishment. )

Now some will say, “won’t they seek protection via sovereign immunity?”, which the answer is yes. However an appellate court might very well waive that protection due to the egregious nature of the offense. (aside, if I could pull it off take your case for the waiver to the FISA court. I am sure a sympathetic ear is available for being lied to by those involved.)

Any average American this would be a non-starter. But a quarter Bn as a court fund, and a GoFundMe to be named later is nothing to Trump.

The goal is to crush them, I don’t care how.

drdog, I like your plan in #24…I just think it would take longer than where Barr is (allegedly) at right now.

still, anything that hurts the coup participants, helps the country!
