How Bad Men Corrupt Others

Case in point: John McCain.

Have you noticed that since John McCain died, Lindsey Graham has been a different man? He actually seems to be thinking for himself. Unlike two years ago, Graham seems to be putting what’s best for the country first more often than not. The latest example is Graham’s handling of the illegal alien situation.

There are not (m)any good things that can be said about McCain. He was part of the 1%-2% of white males that actually benefit from white privilege. Had his father and grandfather not been admirals, he never would have won appointment to Annapolis. He never would have made it through Annapolis nor become a Navy pilot. As a senator, he was a traitorous, deceitful man who always placed himself before the country. He would do anything to promote himself. Even in death, he was a petty man who arranged a state funeral usually reserved for former presidents for himself and made sure his 2008 running mate wasn’t invited.

But, back to Graham:

Senator Lindsey Graham is close to unveiling his new immigration plan, which seeks to radically revamp the asylum process. Graham reportedly began work on the project in late April. He said now that the president has “correctly identified the crisis at the border, it’s time to have a legislative solution.”

The bill is reportedly designed to deter migrants from “gaming the system” by making the application process more difficult, while simultaneously getting rid of loop holes that allow asylum seekers to stay in the U.S. indefinitely. It’s also designed to add pressure on groups of migrants posing as families in the hope of gaining asylum by extending the length of time minors can be detained by immigration officials.

Graham spoke out on the immigration crisis during acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan’s recent testimony on human smuggling at the border:“Bottom line — if this continues it’s like adding a congressional district of illegal immigrants every year. The average congressional district is about 600,000 people. This year alone we’re on track to do 640 — this has to stop.”

Graham is offering some leeway to court politicians on the left as well. He said he is open to discussing ways to find a pathway to citizenship for so-called Dreamers if, and only if, Congress comes together to pass comprehensive immigration reform. He also said the plan is contingent on Central American countries doing their part to stem the numerous caravans flowing into the U.S. However, as it stands, his proposal is not expected to garner much support from the left.

Don’t get me wrong. Graham is far from perfect and it’s unlikely that I’d vote for him in a GOP primary, but he’s a far better senator than he was when the Maverick was breathing.

Graham has indeed been one of the few pleasant surprises from Republicans in Congress.

Trump has had to fight almost everyone on almost everything. But since McCain croaked at least Graham has had the courage to stand up!

Fight on, there was old TV show called ‘Queen for a Day’, the premise being that women got up and told their life story, and the women with the MOST PATHETIC life story got rewarded with a household appliance…usually a washing machine!

Even as a kid the show gave me the creeps…now it is the backbone of the Democrat Party!

So, how’s the re-launch going, Francis?

O’Rourke decided to re-launch his campaign. After cowardly apologizing for being an alleged white male on The View, he releases social video footage of himself getting a hair cut.

“He couldn’t run a city of a hundred thousand, let alone a nation of over three hundred million.” — From the site in post 6.

Here’s the problem. In a Republic the Citizens are the nation. Trump is only running a govt of about 3m employees. It boils me when authors comingle the two concepts.

    That’s Trumps biggest problem.

He has made a ton of awful appointments.

Of course, many are eager to serve but incompetent and you can’t always spot ’em.
And some won’t serve, afraid it will be career suicide to be on the Donald Team.
