Absent Evidence, Must Acquit

A CIA ‘whistle-blower’ who worked with former VP Joe Biden as well as two Adam Schiff (D-CA) aides has apparently gotten cold feet, and may not testify in front of the House Intelligence Committee in person or in writing, according to Schiff. This is in stark contrast to what Schiff’s late September claim that the man at the center of an impeachment inquiry against President Trump would testify in the House “very soon.”

Bottom line is ‘Spooks’ don’t like sunlight. They generally become career enders.

The Democrats go forward with this, it shall be the death of them. But it does bolsters Trump’s situation in the Senate. Without a witness to specify the charges at trial there is little that the Senate can do but acquit for lack of evidence.

Fact I will go out on a limb. A body of the Democrats in the Senate will request that Impeachment not be taken up. Otherwise all the dirt that is already lying around can be dredged up and used against the party. It is in their defense that Trump not have the change to mount a counter and lay it out for the entire country to see.

The Dims are thinking that by putting ‘Impeachment’ next to Trump’s name it changes the election dynamic. Well shucks it does — it improves his chances just like it did Clinton.

at this point I’m not sure the Dims can even get it passed in the House.

there are a LOT of vulnerable Dims in House districts…and voting for it when there is NO witness testimony forthcoming would make it impossible in any of those districts!

    2,

That is so true. I wonder if Pelosi capitulated out of spite? She is to the point of not giving a damn, but wants to stick it to The Squad. So watch if the Dims lose the House, bet Pelosi announces retirement at the beginning of the session.

It will also be interesting to see who gets the nom for the POTUS spot in 2024. If Trump sinks the globalists and wounds the media it is going to be a different kind of world.

The media doesn’t even make a pretense of being objective -or even honest – any more … and hasn’t for over 25 years.

Trump is going to be a hard (if not impossible) act to follow. I never viewed him as a conservative.

Yet, he has been far more conservative than so many of the “true conservatives” that have sold the country out to big business.

If you’re a CA landlord or own/manage commercial real estate then power shutdowns present certain challenges

“The result, according to multiple property management sources, was a scramble to provide darkened buildings the bare-essential services, like security and elevator power.”

As late as 1980 you Kalifornians literally had heaven on earth: great climate, beautiful scenery, the best public schools in the country and a manageable state government. Like the Swedes, you threw it all away.

Unfortunately, primarily due to illegal immigration your state has done irrevocable harm to itself. This should serve as a lesson to the rest of us about the damage unchecked illegal immigration can cause.

    12,

As well as one party government. Which by the way I don’t trust the GOPers any more than I do the Dims. But as Madison observed when balanced factions contest each other they are less inclined to mess the general population for fear of losing what power they have.

1 – Clinton wasn’t up for reelection post impeachment, it may have effected the midterms in 98 though.
11 – I can only imagine the headaches.
    Interesting read about the atf.

    Ok something is weird.

1/ https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/african-swine-fever-devastates-chinas-pig-herd-september Chin pig herds decimated.
2/ Deal with China to sell up to $50Bn in soybeans.
3/ US has worst crop year since the dust bowl. Frost is projected to arrive early so the 2019 crop year is done.
4/ Soy is primarily a livestock feed. Humans eat it too, but it is not the primary consumption.
5/ Prove me wrong but it is doubtful we have sold that much soy to anybody let alone produced that much.

So it sounds like a good trade deal, but I don’t see the immediate benefit to the farm community. Many a farm is going to be gone before the 2020 planting season starts.
