Problem with Dim-o-Crats

Even Obama sees the problem –

The comments marked an extraordinary entrance into the primary contest by the former president, who has been careful to avoid even the appearance of influencing the direction of the race. His remarks offered an implicit critique of Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, who have urged voters to embrace “political revolution” and “big, structural change,” as well as proposals once widely considered to be left to the liberal fringes of the party, including court packing and decriminalizing illegal border crossings.

Many a pundit has plumbed the ‘What is’. Nobody seems to be interested in the ‘Why for’. I intend to explore this herein. The question of why the inquisitors are not inquisitive will be left for another posting.

  1. Opportunity. For the entire field it was a chance. I would suggest that none deep down think they have a prayer of beating Trump. Well except for maybe Bernie, he’s just nuts. But it is a wide open field just like it was for the GOPers after Bush’s last term. Keep in mind that of the current field, Biden was one of the last to announce a POTUS bid. Till then there was no heir apparent and so it was an open primary. To tell ya the truth even with Biden in the race, it is still an open field.

For some of the secondary runners like Harris this is a test run. Chance to get their feet wet and test some ideas, get reactions from the electorate. The problem is thanks to Warren and Sanders the concepts have been skewed too far Left. That gives anyone else doing a test run that a hard Left is necessary to carry the primaries. I advise that will not be the case in the future. Trump is out in 2024. Pence could carry to 2028. Funny thing that happens in a decade, that Millennial that was all gung ho for Left politics at 25 is now 35, has a wife, kids and a mortgage to feed. They are their parents both in reality and politics.

  1. War Chesting. There is no better way to get money than to steal it from someone else, legally of course. The big donors will wait it out till after the Ohio primary to provide funding. Till then the smaller donors fund the coffers. The astute candidate squirrels away 20% of everything taken in to a permanent campaign fund the balance to current operations. It would not surprise me that this is exactly Warren’s motivation. A full war chest will assure her continued fixturing as a Senator not to be trifled with for many elections in the future.

Candidates like Harris, Gabbard, Buttigieg to a greater or lesser degree similar thinking is in play. Biden, nope, he has his pot-o-gold ill gotten as it is to play the field as he wishes. Sanders with not a brain that functions will probably burn 110% of all his donations. He’s nuts, that’s why.

  1. F’n Crazy. Oh so many reasons for this. A key one is that the Democrats have been captured by the activists. Fact within the party that is their core constituency. The fact that those causes act to cross purposes is immaterial so long as there is enough public money to pass around. The other factor is that lacking experience any idea sounds like a good one if it has a catchy phrase or free-is-for-me flavor to it. Ain’t that right Ms. ‘Chief Wampum’ Warren?

Activists have also driven out most of what was the classic moderate Democrat. Happened first with the Reagan Dims in the South. The trend continued from there, most joining the burgeoning ranks of independent voters. The latest break has been the #WalkAway movement amongst the younger generation. The GOP has not been exempt either. The left wing of the GOP was driven out by the hawks decades ago.

But there is something deeper in play too. Professional Managerial Class. Specific to politics, Poltical Science types. In the post war years this country has gotten away from the core of the citizen-legislator. You look around the people inhabiting Congress and it is but a few that have dealt in the private sector that they all suck taxes from. All Take no Create. 20 year staffers never having faced an election generally run the show and they are by and large all lawyers. Ick.

So that is what we are stuck with this election cycle. Your thoughts?

That is a TREMENDOUS slogan…which Trump should use against his eventual opponent!! Because Trump IS a creator.

    Bravo, Sir Dog!

Eyore, once again a Democrat had to pretend to be Conservative, pro-Life, pro-Guns and pro-Trump to get elected.

Speaking of Louisiana, we’re down to three undefeated FBS teams : LSU, Ohio State and Clemson.

I’m glad he’s fighting. Leaving it all on the field win or lose. Not calculating “if it’s a loss then it makes me look bad”. Instead “if we win, it’s good for the country”

5 – How can the king be back… if he never left ? 😉

    8 – Agreed.

A new report from the Center for Military Readiness reveals 84% of the women who take a new Army combat-fitness test fail.

    – “Among other things, Marine proxy tests with hundreds of volunteers confirmed significant physical differences in weight-lifting exercises simulating heavy armor or artillery rounds. Most men could lift progressively heavy barbells above their heads, but 92% of female participants could not accomplish the ‘clean & press’ with a 115 lb. weight,” the report said.

    – Injury rates for women proved two to six times higher, and at the Marines’ Infantry Officer Course, only two of more than 30 female officers passed even after adjustments were made in scoring requirements.

-What is known so far is that in scientific field tests all-male units outperformed the gender-mixed teams 69% of the time, the CMR report said. According to unofficial Army Combat Fitness Test pass/fail records of 3,206 soldiers in 11 battalions, 84% of female trainees and 30% of male trainees failed the six-event Army test.

Not surprised at the outcome of the marine results. God had other plans for the female of our species, 57 genders be damned. There are positions where women are on par or superior to men. They have better color discrimination than men. Their manual dexterity is equal or superior. As a surgeon or pilot they score higher. As a grunt they are disadvantaged, lacking the upper body strength of a man.

Aaaah Facebook, one of the few companies I know of that piss off its own customer base; by design. What the putzes at FB have not figured out is Prog intersectionality will destroy their business. Now its David Duke and angel moms. In the future it will be AntiFA, SPLC, etc. The group identity power pecking order has to self destruct simply based on how it is being applied.

Long detailed comment copied from the JustOneMinute blog about Congress wanting to fish through trump’s tax returns.
Legally sketchy but with Roberts any random result is possible

I was reading an article on Conservative Tree House ( and found this comment very useful. I’ll only use quotation marks so it’s easier to read.useful

    “Lurking Lawyer here.
Sundance is directionally correct, but the case is a bit more convoluted because of its time line. The odds of PDJT prevailing are therefor greater than 50%.

House Oversight is one of three committees that 26USC§6103(f) requires the IRS to turn over individual returns upon request. They requested (PDJT for 6 years 2013-2018) long before Pelosi announced her impeachment inquiry, way before the House vote on same, to which Pelosi said Sunday, (paraphrased) “We haven’t decided to impeach. We are only inquiring about it.’

The ‘upon request’ is not as absolute as it seems. The request must still be predicated on a legitimate legislative purpose. SCOTUS has held (I skip the rulings, since previously commented on here many months ago) that there are only two valid purposes, both constrained to legislative powers expressly granted by A1§8.
    1. An inquiry into making, repealing, or amending an A1§8 law.
    2. Oversight of executive administration of an existing law.

With respect to (1), a legitimate legislative purpose would be reviewing real estate tax law for possible changes. BUT then, the request should have come from Ways and Means (Neal) where tax laws originate. AND, it should have included requests for tax returns from other big real estate developers also. Singling out only PDJT is a fatal defect to this purpose.

With respect to (2), after Nixon/Agnew the tax code was amended to require a special IRS audit of annual POTUS and VPOTUS returns, with the results held in the National Archive. Reviewing those special audits by IRS would be a proper Oversight and Reform legislative purpose, BUT ONLY for 2017-2018 after PDJT was inaugurated. The earlier 4 years demanded are a fatal defect to this purpose.

Both these valid points were raised by PDJT and were already on their way to SCOTUS. Now the committee is trying to ‘cure’ these fatal request defects by claiming the returns are necessary for impeachment. This raises four new issues where PDJT can also win.
    1. Impeachment is not a legislative purpose within A1§8.
    2. Articles of Impeachment have historically been the the province of Judiciary, NOT Oversight.
    3. The demand was made BEFORE the impeachment inquiry unofficially started and cannot be retrospectively cured.
    4. No tax ‘high crimes of misdemeanors’ have even been alleged. Impeachment fishing expeditions are unconstitutional.

IMO this case has the potential to set a major constitutional precedent about POTUS harassment via political impeachment. The constitutional convention minutes and Federalist #65 both make it clear why ‘maladministration’ (the original third test after treason and bribery, and which WOULD allow for political impeachment) was replaced by ‘High Crimes and Misdemeanors’. The phrase was borrowed from prior British law, has a specific set of meanings, and DOES NOT allow political impeachment.

SCOTUS should take the case on an expedited basis and use it to break the backs of Pelosi and Schiff over political impeachment. Another great MAGA gift from PDJT.”

Long made short: fatal defects that cannot be cured ~ unless Roberts waves his magic wand.
