Can It Happen Here?

Taking a break from Iran – Iraq ….

We’re all familiar with Sweden … a country of 10-million filled with bleeding heart liberals and social justice warriors.

Following WWII the Swedes had it made. Since the US was covering Europe, the country had no defense costs. Because there were very few uneducated, unskilled Swedes, there were few welfare costs. The Swedes were a homogeneous people with few outsiders. Swedes had plenty of free time from work – holidays, long vacations and early retirement. Crime was virtually non-existent. There were tons of beautiful blonde women (and a few Gretas).

The Swedes decided they were enjoying Utopia too much and wanted to share it with the less-fortunate. Starting in the 1960s Sweden started importing people from Africa and the Middle East without paying much attention to who was immigrating. Over a period of 50 years the number of migrants, mostly Muslims, continued to grow until it now is about 10% of the country’s inhabitants.

Lots of unintended changes took place – all bad. Crime rates and welfare costs soared. Cities that took large numbers of migrants declared bankruptcy. No-go zones suddenly developed. Sweden’s beautiful blondes became targets of predatory Muslin males, making Sweden the rape capital of Europe. While some Swedes are waking up and trying to take control back from their socialist government,  it may be too late.

Instead of Sweden bringing immigrants up to their standards, immigrants are succeeding in bringing bringing Sweden down to theirs.  Swedes truly believed diversity was something wonderful. They have learned it can destroy their culture and their way of life.

Swedish political science professor Tommy Möller has warned that the unprecedented mass migration into Sweden in the last decade could unravel the country’s “democratic welfare society.”

Professor Möller, who teaches at Stockholm University, has claimed that political stability in Sweden has been greatly affected by mass migration, stating that it could be relegated to a museum in an op-ed published by Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri.

“No matter what happens, no one can deny that our society has undergone significant changes as a result of the extensive immigration, and these demographic changes will permeate Swedish politics for the foreseeable future,” Moller said and highlighted the rise of the anti-mass migration Sweden Democrats (SD) who have topped recent opinion polls.

“Problems in health care and school, the municipalities’ increased costs for supply support, housing shortages and, not least, the accelerating gang crime – all of these are problems and some of them have been linked by SD with immigration,” he said.

Mass migration has been linked to several of those issues such as in the southern city of Malmo where the vast majority of shooting suspects in a Swedish media report released earlier this year were from migrant backgrounds.

Municipalities who took in large shares of asylum seekers and migrants since the height of the 2015 migrant crisis have also seen financial difficulties, such as the municipality of Bengtsfors which claimed it risked bankruptcy earlier this year.

The professor went on to add that polarization and cultural conflicts were on the rise, warning, “Unless the integration of the newly arrived succeeds better, in the long run, the social putty that makes a democratic welfare society of our kind possible risks being torn apart.”

“Unfortunately, the interpersonal trust that is a prerequisite for a large-scale society to function has decreased in Sweden in recent years,” Moller said and added, “Gaps between people, whether economic or cultural, create a distance in terms of experience and values.”

Until the 1960 the US was fairly homogeneous. While people immigrated from different places, they had similar values. They treated women with respect. They didn’t act like barbarians with honor killings and other assorted goodies.

Little did we know in the 1950s that “diversity was our greatest strength.” Political correctness changed that.

Of all the dangers this country faces, none is as bad as political correctness.

18 RINO governors (including Eph’s) are doing their best to ensure it happens here by pushing for more refugees:

    https://townhall.com/columnists/scottmorefield/2020/01/06/here-are-the-republican-governors-who-betrayed-trump-and-their-constituents-by-asking-for-refugee-resettlement-in-their-states-n2558981

Like Catholic Relief Services, Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services, RINO governors view refugees as a cash cow (and a great waybto suck up to the left).

it is happening here in a big way in Minnesota, New York, California and several other States…and in urban centers in most every other State.

and if Trump had not been elected then the pace would accelerating!

Don’t forget Dearbornistan. The western part of the city is still a nice, middle class neighborhood and the eastern part is a Middle Eastern hellhole. The problem is the eastern part keeps growing and the western part keeps shrinking.

Hopefully the blacks will get their act together in 2020 and coalesce behind a single candidate to make Rashida Tlaib a one-termer. In 2018 there were about 10 blacks in the primary and Michigan doesn’t have run-offs.

Suprisingly (or not so), here are the states with the largest percentage of Muslim population:
    – Illinois: 2.8%
    – Virginia: 2.7%
    – New York: 2.0%
    – New Jersey: 1.8%
    – Texas: 1.7%
    – Michigan: 1.2%

In Michigan we keep the Muslims bottled up in a more confined area. Dearbornistan ranks second to New York City in the total number of Muslims. Source: Wikipedia

Very true. In addition, I could never understand why Boeing moved its corporate headquarters to Chicago. Why would an aircraft manufacturer want its top executives 2,000 miles from engineering and production?

Boeing made the move in 2001. It seems like it’s been all downhill since then.

    11,

Remember Boeing also has a plant in SC as well. Chicago was probably a bad choice but the tax laws favored doing it. When I worked for GTE they did the same logic moving to Irving Texas. Its all a write off as part of a `restructuring plan`.

Over at ZH there is a piece a day or two back that the FAA is also looking at a wiring separation issue on the tail section of the 737Max. Boeing seems to have dug themselves quite a hole.

Quite stupid move, if Biden was using an alias to mask his rehab. Unless the Doc and Rx were in on the alias it could be a killer. And remember, patient records are on a computer bank, since 2012.

back to the topic of bc3b’s post: “Can it happen here?”

20 years ago I would have said: “NO!”
10 years ago I would have said: “Probably not”
Now I say: “It IS happening”

The Left has ALWAYS played the long game, and this “game” started long ago. But 20 years ago they changed tactics, and began to eat away at THE final defense against them that ensured no matter how hard they pushed, there could and would always be a pushback.

    the 1st Amendment

Yes, the 2nd Amendment is critical, but mainly because it protects our other Rights. But FREE SPEECH, open debate, free association, Freedom OF Religion and a FREE PRESS, have always been the final barricade against the Leftist barbarians.

For the last 20 years the Left has attacked every Freedom guaranteed by the 1st Amendment, and has been so successful that many people are now AFRAID to voice ANY opinion contrary to the group-think of the Left. And by labeling ALL speech they don’t like as “Hate Speech”, they have actually criminalized FREE SPEECH.

They realized long ago that the 2nd Amendment prevents a frontal assault on our other Rights. Thus they spent decades undermining the value and efficacy of those Rights. I fear they are winning.

This was already commented on but I got it in email and it hit me: although satire this is absolutely indicative of MSM and Dem attitudes

“The msm, worlds worst propaganda team.”

    https://www.foxnews.com/media/cnn-reporter-the-babylon-bee
A CNN reporter sounded the alarm on Sunday over the popularity of a piece published by a conservative satirical site. Which is why it pisses them off.

Last week, The Babylon Bee drew some laughs with an article poking fun at the Democrats’ reaction to the U.S. airstrike that led to the death of Irani Gen. Qassem Soleimani, using the headline “Democrats Call For Flags To Be Flown At Half-Mast to Grieve Death of Soleimani.”

Responding to a Twitter user who expressed concern that “Republican friends” on Facebook “are circulating it like it’s legit,” CNN reporter Donie O’Sullivan pointed out that The Babylon Bee was getting more traffic on that one article than his network and The New York Times get weekly.

    AFA statement on Chick-Fil-A

I want to thank you for your support of our Chick-fil-A campaign over the past few weeks. Your signature on our petition to Chick-fil-A had a tremendous impact and I’m glad to share this news with you.
Dan Cathy, Chick-fil-A chairman and CEO, responded to my personal letter and the more than 116,000 people who signed AFA’s petition asking the company for clarification after Chick-fil-A stunned much of the evangelical community by changing its corporate giving.
In November, Chick-fil-A announced that it would not be donating money to the Salvation Army and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Homosexual activist organizations had hammered away at the two Christian non-profit groups because their doctrinal statements supported a biblical view of human sexuality and marriage. In turn, Chick-fil-A was accused of supporting “hate” because of the corporate giving.
In my personal letter to Mr. Cathy, I asked him two questions: (1) Will Chick-fil-A publicly state that it does not believe the Salvation Army and FCA are hate groups because of the ministries’ beliefs about sexuality, marriage, and family? (2) Will you publicly state that Chick-fil-A will not hesitate to fund these two ministries again, should the opportunity arise in the future?
Mr. Cathy’s written response included this statement: “We inadvertently discredited several outstanding organizations that have effectively served communities for years.”
This response was a welcomed clarification. It appears that Mr. Cathy understands how many evangelicals perceived the company’s decision, as he stated that these Christian groups were “inadvertently discredited.” The fact that Dan Cathy called these two Christian groups “outstanding organizations” will mean a lot to evangelicals.
However, I also mentioned in my initial letter that Chick-fil-A stated that the company would support Covenant House, a ministry to homeless youth, including homosexual young people. While it is admirable to help hurting youth in desperate circumstances –– including those who are LGBTQ –– Covenant House also openly promotes homosexuality as normal, natural, and healthy. This was evident in Covenant House’s participation in the NYC gay pride parade and a number of other efforts that make it clear the ministry does not hold to a biblical view of human sexuality.
As a result, AFA will continue to monitor Chick-fil-A’s corporate giving, at least for the foreseeable future. We believe our supporters rely on us to do so.
Most of the Christians I know love Chick-fil-A and want to trust the company to uphold scriptural principles. We have all been huge fans of Chick-fil-A, and want that to continue.

Smells like game on now, particularly if anyone died as result, at least one us aircraft on fire at Ain Al-Asad airbase, but no casualties reported yet. Second wave of missiles supposedly just launched.
