The Democrats’ Dilemma(s)

Dilemma #1:  Coronavirus has increased Trump’s Popularity

One of the Democrats’ biggest accusations was that Trump doesn’t act presidential. The Democrats’ idea of a Republican acting “presidential” is George W. Bush hiding under the bed while being attacked and criticized. Trump fights back. Sometimes he makes remarks we wish he hadn’t, but he always fights back. It’s hard to deny he has acted “presidential” and in the best interest of the country (unlike the Democrats) during the coronavirus crisis.

Trump’s approval rating has climbed to the point where Andrea Mitchell is concerned.

During her 12:00 p.m. ET hour show on Wednesday, MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell revealed her greatest fear amid the coronavirus pandemic – Donald Trump’s approval ratings going up. She fretted over likely Democratic nominee Joe Biden “having difficulty” getting his message out during the crisis and support for the President “skyrocketing.”

Turning to former Obama administration official Jim Messina, Mitchell anxiously noted: “There is politics involved. We’ve heard very little from, for instance, the more likely, most likely nominee of the Democratic Party, Joe Biden. He’s having difficulty getting – projecting through this crisis as the campaign goes totally on hold.”

As if that wasn’t bad enough, the MSNBC host referenced positive poll numbers for Trump:

We’re also seeing some polls indicating the President’s approval ratings among Democrats and independents skyrocketing to their highest levels yet. Some 60% approval ratings for the way he’s handling this crisis as he continues to hold these briefings. The briefings are working for the President.

In frustration, she added: “No matter what he says, people seem to be seeing him as a leader, at least more people do.”

Dilemma #2: What to do with Joe Biden?

To stop Bernie Sanders, the Democratic Party leadership threw all its support behind Joe Biden. It forced the other presidential wannabes to the sidelines only to discover what Republicans already knew. The gaffe-prone Biden can’t handle a five minute interview with a friendly host like Nicolle Wallace or what passes for women who host The View without screwing up.

Anyone watching Joe Biden’s bizarre Tuesday afternoon MSNBC interview with Nicolle Wallace really had to wonder about the guy after watching the bizarre, rambling, and gooey interview. Between Biden’s tangents that would sudden start then stop and Wallace’s disturbing infatuation and wide smile hanging on his every word, it was as weird as one could possibly imagine.

Biden alternated between getting choked up while discussing people who had lost loved ones to the virus, with flinging insults at President Trump — only to instantly issue abashed, child-like apologies, calling his words “stupid,” saying “sorry,” and “I shouldn’t have said it that way.”

At one point while apologizing, Biden made a series of deeply goofy facial expressions (see screencap) and even resorted to make a hand motion as if he were playing with a yo-yo. All the while, Wallace appeared completely enthralled, as if she were interviewing a crush.

To reiterate, Wallace couldn’t stop smiling broadly and warmly. all the while giggling at Joe’s bon mots.

She thanked him at the end of their interview no fewer than six times. Wallace was in total soul-meld with Biden, twice referring to Biden and herself as “just a guy his basement, talking to a gal in hers.”

There’s even talk of replacing Biden with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, but with coronavirus, Cuomo has other problems and would likely rather wait until 2024 when he doesn’t have to face Trump.

Dilemma #3: What to do with Pelosi?

What Pelosi did in trying to blackmail the nation into passing a bill people desperately want to get passed (loading it with highly partisan – and costly – measures) is a page out of the Democrats’ playbook. But, it was like running a quarterback sneak with 4th and 35 on your own 5 yard line. Pelosi’s problems: 1. She should have known that Trump wouldn’t stand for it. 2. Her timing was off. Coronavirus is one time the public is playing attention. 3. She exposed how highly partisan the Democrats are, giving the GOP ammunition for the November elections. She may have cost the Democrats the House. Pelosi is one of the worst public faces the Democrats have.

Excellent illucidation of the dilemmas facing the Democrats. The article I’ve linked below is probably the Dems’ answer: destroy America.

By destroying America they “save” America from Donald Trump. Dilemma #1 solved.

Then they swap Cuomo for Biden, claiming that Cuomo has the “right experience at the right time to save America” (I should trademark that phrase, because some variation of that is EXACTLY what they will claim…and the media will back them, of course). Dilemma #2 solved.

Dilemma #3? They will claim that all the bullshit Pelosi threw into the “Relief” Bill was necessary to solve the BIGGER issues (Climate Change, Republicans, the Bill of Rights)…and PRAISE her for being ahead of the curve.

    JR #1 –

Speaking of American Thinker, another article had this gem:

Donald Trump plays a different game of chess. He thinks several moves ahead, as any chess master would, but he also plays multiple games simultaneously. He contends with a confrontational media, an insatiable Democratic House leadership, and ill prepared state government–managed health care facilities. Trump would be amazed should he get true bipartisan support in his effort to stem the coronavirus crisis.

If Trump can re-ignite the economy, he may have very long coattails.

Trump just may be in a position where millions think “I can’t stand the guy but I am afraid of what will happen if he isn’t re-elected.”

One of my clients only had 50 of 425 selling her product because of the mandated shelter-in-place and salon closures. This is temporary and is to be expected.

The King has about as much chance of winning as Jennifer Rubin has being among my “hot chicks of the weekend.”

As you and The King will discover Sunday, there are more than five hot chicks on the LPGA Tour who like to demonstrate their “attributes” and I’m not talking about driving, putting chipping, etc.

Trust me, you’d like to be stuck in a sand trap with them.

Dilemma #4: It is going to dawn on the bulbs over 40w that it will not be safe in the cities anymore. Baltimore, Philly, Chicago, LA have all issued notices that unless its a life of death scenario, its open season on anything else. Cops will not respond. Mark the ‘Millennial Gentrification of Urban Areas’ deader than a door nail. That means that by 2030 census urban redistricting is going to be a bear.

Dilemma #5: House swings to GOP. The GOP lost the House due in large part to retirements of old GOP stalwarts. Dims capitalized on this. That edge has been lost. We can thank Piggy for making that happen as the nation says — ‘WTF you doing b@#$^. I NEED my check!’

Dilemma #6: In triggering the NDAA Trump now has broad powers. Don’t be surprised if on the CoVid draw down he has meeting with the Fortune 1000. The message — “Bring it home or we will provide enterprise funding to a competitor. We will issue Fed Gov favored purchase directives to support the effort.” Secondary effect is that getting people back to work the GOP solidifies its standard as ‘the party of the little guy.’ The Dims having forfeited the banner.

Dilemma #7: See #6 first. The border wall, again thanks to the NDAA, has impetus to be executed over the objections of Piggy and crew. Where it has been deployed it has cut illegals drastically. With the horde stopped the Dim plan to replace the current population ceases.

I am hoping a large percentage of the voting public change their attitudes. Feminists know that due to this virus their cause has been trashed. ‘You go girrrrrl’ is toast.

Well our senate gave us a steaming supersized portion of Wu Han rancid pork. Which tastes far worse than the rat hind quarters that we are used to.

    Pork like…
Corporation for Public Broadcasting: $75 million
National Endowment for the Arts: $75 million
National Endowment for the Humanities: $75 million
Institute of Museum and Library Services: $50 million
    The Kennedy Center: $25 million
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA): $20 million
    Legal Services Corporation: $50 million
    Internal Revenue Service: $250 million
House of Representatives salaries and expenses: $25 million

Bear in mind that this doctor’s DOOMSDAY predictions led to many of the LOCKDOWNS across our country, since he was widely quoted, even by our CDC. He predicted 500,000 deaths in the U.K., and two MILLION in America (based on his model).
He has revised his prediction down from 500,000 to UNDER 20,000. In fact, his new prediction is in line with the annual FLU deaths in the U.K. Models are just that: MODELS. And yet the MODELS were printed as T-R-U-T-H…and terrified (at least) two nations, ours being one of them.

Assuming this fool is off in his wild-assed-guess for America the same as he was for the U.K., that would drop his estimate for the U.S. to 80,000, from 2 MILLION. Or, about the same as the annual number of flu deaths.

The pandemic has rained in so many progressive pipe dreams:
    * Urban gentrification
    * Public transportation
    * Open borders
    * Reusable shopping bags as opposed to plastic and paper

… to name but a few.

If the GOP is wise (and it seems to become wiser since Trump became president) after the pandemic is over , it will do the following:

    1. Link House candidates to Nancy Pelosi (who turned 80 today)
    2. Accuse Democrats of placing partisan interests over the good of Americans
    3. Start attacking the Democrats of being anti-working class and actually working against the good of working class Americans – favoring illegals over citizens, wanting boys on girls teams, favoring infanticide, etc.
    4. Remind Americans that by their actions Congressional Democrats are preventing the President from rebuilding the country to favor special interests

The good thing about the 2020 elections is that a larger percentage of Congress will be Donald Trump Republicans (as opposed to RINOs)

Until we stop electing spineless RINOs, nothing will change. Hopefully, Neil Bush’s kid running third in the primary shows Republican voters are starting to wake up.

    Yup.

17 – As I said more than a week ago, it was all about scaring the shit out of policy makers (including trump) and even worse MSM with “the models” so they would take down the economy even more than would naturally happen…all the while even some of the authors of those models admittedly said their models were using inputs that were basically just guesses at the time. The smarter govs and mayors resisted wanting a bit more data and understood the economic balance must be struck, the virtue signalling types jumped in with both feet without even looking first, then it was a rush to out do each other into hoovervilles.
