What’s on Your Mind?

2020 March 21
by bc3b
  • Coronavirus
  • States that have completely shut down (Kalifornia, Pennsylvania, Illinois, New Jersey, etc.)
  • Long-lasting effects of Coronavirus (negatives like increased government control; positives like improved personal hygiene)
  • Media dishonesty
  • 2020 elections
  • Missing sports events
  • Anything else (cheerleaders, ice girls, ladies of the LPGA)

Speaking of the ladies of the LPGA:

Belen-Moza-4-495x400  Muni-He-3-495x400

Image result for natalie gulbis Paulina Gretzky 1

Maria-Verenchova5-495x400

Perhaps the LPGA would have higher ratings if it skipped the golf and just concentrated on the pool area. I’d start watching.

Does this make up for the image of Stacy Abrams?

Many of the lovelies on the LPGA tour have discovered that sex sells. Bikini pix seem to be the norm for the very attractive players.

I’ll go with Door #1 and I’ll bet KH will go with Michelle Wei now that she’s all grown up. And Michelle did a great job of growing up.

    Well lets see……

    * went to HomeDespot to buy 5 items (heat lamp and 4 lengths of emt) it took me all of 10mins to do it all. But is it took me an hour to get in. Local nazis have mandated no more than 125 in the stores at a time.

    * SO and I wanted some sushi, er bait for lunch. Our usual haunt is closed likely not to return. The eateries all have the their dining areas closed, take out only.

    * SO reports she still cannot find a single roll of TP anywhere.

    * I would hate to see this country in a REAL crisis.

Yeah, I think a police state and totalitarian government is a big “negative” effect

I am just not sure if I am supposed to say “sieg heil” or “Commarde”

It’s great to know I can rat on my neighbor via internet “reporting” WWW sites

I met several self-righteous mini-totalitarians while, God forbid, out buying coffee

One guy had the balls to say “I am an EMT and I am ok with putting you in jail for not being 6 ft away cause I don’t wanna get sick”

    WOW what a “hero”

I said hey buddy, last I check you signed up all on your own for that job so why whine about the risk when you took it upon yourself to take the job

Sheeesh the Gestapo will have no shortage of goons and informers in the new american gulag we live in

These links are must read for some actual facts on Coronavirus vs media hype:

    https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2020/03/a-data-driven-look-at-the-wuhan-coronavirus.php – this is a summary article

    https://medium.com/six-four-six-nine/evidence-over-hysteria-covid-19-1b767def5894

    – This is the actual full report

“The table of contents of Ginn’s lengthy piece provides an idea of his views:

    1. Total cases are the wrong metric
    2. Time lapsing new cases gives us perspective
    3. On a per-capita basis, we shouldn’t be panicking
    4. COVID-19 is spreading
    5. Watch the Bell Curve
    6. A low probability of catching COVID-19
    7. Common transmission modes
    8. COVID-19 is likely to burn off in the summer
    9. Children and Teens aren’t at risk
    10.Strong, but unknown viral effect
    11.What about asymptomatic spread?
12.93% of people who think they are positive aren’t
13.1% of cases will be severe
    14.Declining fatality rate
    15.So what should we do?
    16.Start with basic hygiene
    17.More data
    18.Open schools
    19.Open up public spaces
    20.Support business and productivity
21.People fear what the government will do, not infection
    22.Expand medical capacity
23.Don’t let them forget it and vote

Here are a few important passages:

    As to contagiousness:

The World Health Organization (“WHO”) released a study on how China responded to COVID-19. Currently, this study is one of the most exhaustive pieces published on how the virus spreads.

The results of their research show that COVID-19 doesn’t spread as easily as we first thought or the media had us believe (remember people abandoned their dogs out of fear of getting infected). According to their report if you come in contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19 you have a 1–5% chance of catching it as well. The variability is large because the infection is based on the type of contact and how long.

The majority of viral infections come from prolonged exposures in confined spaces with other infected individuals. Person-to-person and surface contact is by far the most common cause.”

It makes a lot of sense only allowing 125 people inside Home Depot, but a ton outside talking to each other. And you’re in Texas. Michigan isn’t that bad. Is it the same at Kroger and HEB?

Restaurants historically have the highest failure rate of any business – not just the single-location mom and dad types, but franchise ones too. The Outback my son worked at during college is a bank now. Around me, a couple of Burger Kings, Pizza Huts and Subways are closed too.

It’s very difficult for a dine-in restaurant that serves alcoholic beverages to establish a carry-out business, even on a short-term basis.

There is an over-abundance of restaurants any way. There will be many that won’t survive.

Food stores here are in full operation. Still can’t keep some items in stock, but if you need to eat they have all the trimmings. Yeah, eateries are a tough business. Making people stand in line defeats the whole purpose of limiting people in the store.

As I reported earlier, between two Kroger stores on the way home from work Friday I was able to find everything I needed. The first was out of white bread and sliced American cheese. The second had white bread, American cheese and even cases of bottled water. Both were out of cleaning supplies and toilet paper. An Aldi’s near work had toilet paper mid-week. The woman in front of me inquired why I was the only one not buying any. We stocked up in anticipation – still have 35 rolls.

Both Kroger and Aldi’s have limits on items in high demand – bread, water, toilet paper, liquid hand soap, etc.

Do go and read the link in WEC #10. Clearly this is hysteria by the elites to appear they are ‘doing something’.

But this whole CoVid business did confirm one thing for me:

Do not be in an urban population center when the big one hits.

NY, Baltimore, Chicago, WA led the way in stupid edicts.

Second item. As a proactive measure should another of these situations crop up I am going to have a faux isolation order ready to print. It will be tacked to the front door when needed.

I saw an interview with Pastor Max Lucado of Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas. He has written a book titled ‘Anxious for Nothing’, that sounds like just what we need in this particular time.

The title is based on Philippians 4:6:
==> “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;”

When the Apostle Paul wrote that phrase, “Be anxious for nothing”, he did so in a Roman jail cell. As far as he knew he wouldn’t live much longer.

    Sounds kinda familiar today, eh?

Pastor Lucado came up with an acronym: “C-A-L-M based on Paul’s message in Philippians.

C – celebrate God. Paul said, “I say unto you rejoice and let your gentleness be made evident to all.”

A – Ask God for help. As Paul wrote: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, make your requests known to God with thanksgiving.”

L – Leave the concern with God. You do it with thanksgiving. You do it with the relief, with the confidence that whatever you’re facing, you can leave it with God.

M – Meditate on good things.

Celebrate God. Ask for help. Leave our problems with Him. Meditate on good things.

    Good advice.

this made me laugh the other day, but also reminded me of something I read in 1992. Apparently in Bill Clinton’s Jr. High yearbook he wrote that his goal in life was to be President of the United States. He stated when asked about it that his ambition started years BEFORE that!

When I was in Jr. High School my ambition was to kiss Maureen O’Shaunassey. I never fulfilled that ambition, btw, but at age 12 that was as high as I aspired.

This is the RIGHT QUESTION we need to be asking right now…..

    https://www.lewrockwell.com/political-theatre/my-covid-19-update/

    “Writes Jim Fedako:

    Lew,

    Here’s my COVID-19 update.

At a press conference ten days ago, Ohio governor DeWine and his chief medical officer said there were, at that time, 100,000 Ohioans with the virus. 100K.

Based on that number he shuttered the state.

Most of those infected would have fully incubated by today, yet only three (3) Ohioans have died with the virus (they may have died from something else, but they tested for the virus at the time of their death), with another 247 active cases (ones that rose to the level of seeking medical attention and warranting a test).

Assuming the Ohio number was a valid estimate, then the virus has a very low mortality rate.

Keep in mind the CDC said as many as 95,000 Americans died from the seasonal flu two years ago (that’s the CDC high estimate, the midrange is 61k).

And, through March 14, another 23k to 59k Americans have died from the flu this season.

We need to ask why we (the people) are allowing the state to close businesses, leave neighbors without jobs, delay medical services for those in need, etc.? Real people are being irreparably harmed.

Why are Trump, DeWine and others doing this?

Why are we allowing them to do it?””

“Daniel McAdams, executive director of the Ron Paul Institute, sent me a link to an essay at Medium about the spread of COVID-19 and the proper policy.

    He wrote:
Best thing I’ve seen on covid-19…Long but worth reading:The author of the piece, Aaron Ginn, using data from the CDC, WHO, etc., after detailed analysis reached the conclusion that:

When you consider the environment COVID-19 prefers, isolating every family in their home is a perfect situation for infection and transmission among other family members. Evidence from South Korea and Singapore shows that it is completely possible and preferred to continue on with life while making accommodations that are data-driven, such as social distancing and regular temperature checks…

The COVID-19 hysteria is pushing aside our protections as individual citizens and permanently harming our free, tolerant, open civil society. Data is data. Facts are facts. We should be focused on resolving COVID-19 with continued testing, measuring, and be vigilant about protecting those with underlying conditions and the elderly from exposure. We are blessed in one way, there is an election in November. Never forget what happened and vote.It was a well thought out piece. You can debate it if you choose, but, again, it used data from sources such as CDC and WHO and took a reasoned approach.

Given the amount of hysterical commentary from mainstream media, which in many cases is extremely misleading, I found the piece a refreshing alternative thought piece. There is a lot more right about the article than wrong and the conclusion was spot on.

But the popular essay publishing site, Medium, took it down.

This is what you now find at the link:

    Got that?

An essay using top government data that comes to conclusions not in line with the panic narrative is taken down.

    How outrageous can it get?

We now apparently can’t debate draconian measures by governments to lock us down.

Stay six feet away from each other and just smile at each other, no talking about substance!

The author of the essay admits in the paper that he is not an expert in the field:
You may ask yourself. Who is this guy? Who is this author? I’m a nobody. That is also the point. The average American feels utterly powerless right now. I’m an individual American who sees his community and loved ones being decimated without given a choice, without empathy, and while the media cheers on with high ratings. All he does is make a reasoned case.

It should be debated, not banned.

Heroically, Zero Hegde has reposted the piece here.

Again, I don’t think the paper is perfect but there is a lot right about the paper, points that just aren’t being made by mainstream media.”
