What About China?

2020 May 12

The media in general, and the Missing Link (aka Brian Stelter) in particular, is complaining about conservatives obsessing concerning charges against General Michael Flynn being dropped and the reasons they were dropped. This is humorous considering that CNN, MSNBC, the “Alphabet Networks,” and the rest of the MainStream Media totally obsessed about Russian collusion in the 2016 election for more than three years. If anyone tuned in CNN since the 2016 election, it’s very likely they would be subjected to the network’s non-stop coverage of Russia meddling in the 2016 election.

But, let’s put things in perspective:  Russia intervention pales when compared to Communist China in terms of attempting to influence not only elections but America’s way of life.

  • The Chinese Communists have funneled millions into the campaigns of Democratic presidential candidates since the days of Bill Clinton to affect our elections and buy influence
  • The Chinese Communist government has donated millions to US colleges and universities to promote China and defuse any negative attacks on the Chinese government to help shape the opinions of younger people not only in the US, but around the world

Confucius Institute (Chinese: 孔子学院; pinyin: Kǒngzǐ Xuéyuàn) is a public educational organization under the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, whose stated aim is to promote Chinese language and culture, support local Chinese teaching internationally, and facilitate cultural exchanges. The organization has been criticized due to concerns of rising Chinese influences in the countries in which it operates.

The Confucius Institute program began in 2004 and is overseen by Hanban (officially the Office of Chinese Language Council International). The institutes operate in co-operation with local affiliate colleges and universities around the world, and financing is shared between Hanban and the host institutions. The related Confucius Classroom program partners with local secondary schools or school districts to provide teachers and instructional materials.

Officials from China have compared Confucius Institutes to language and culture promotion organizations such as Portugal’s Instituto Camões, Britain’s British Council, France’s Alliance Française, Italy’s Società Dante Alighieri, Spain’s Instituto Cervantes and Germany’s Goethe-Institut—several of them named for an iconic cultural figure identified with that country, as Confucius is identified with China. Some commentators argue that, unlike these organizations, many Confucius Institutes operate directly on university campuses, thus giving rise to what they allege to be unique concerns related to academic freedom and political influence

  • There are approximately 300,000 Chinese nationals attending colleges and universities, many in advanced degree programs, gaining knowledge and even providing the Chinese government with classified information
  • It’s hard to go a week without hearing about a Chinese national or Chinese American arrested or deported on charges of spying for the Chinese government.

China is alleged to have begun a widespread effort to acquire U.S. military technology and classified information and the trade secrets of U.S. companies. The Chinese government is accused of stealing trade secrets and technology, often from companies in the United States, to help support its long-term military and commercial development.[3] China has been accused of using a number of methods to obtain U.S. technology (using U.S. law to avoid prosecution), including espionage, exploitation of commercial entities and a network of scientific, academic and business contacts. Although it uses a network of contacts to collect information used to benefit Chinese businesses, each bit of information does not invite scrutiny or prosecution by the U.S. government. Espionage cases include Larry Wu-Tai Chin, Katrina Leung, Gwo-Bao Min, Chi Mak and Peter Lee.

In addition to traditional espionage, China partners civilian Chinese companies with American businesses to acquire technology and economic data and uses cyber spying to penetrate the computer networks of U.S. businesses and government agencies; an example is the December 2009 Operation Aurora. U.S. law enforcement officials have identified China as the most active foreign power involved in the illegal acquisition of American technology. On May 19, 2014, the United States Department of Justice announced that a Federal grand jury had indicted five People’s Liberation Army officers for stealing confidential business information and intellectual property from U.S. commercial firms and planting malware on their computers.

The People’s Republic of China has used a variety of methods to gather intelligence in the United States. Individuals attempt to obtain targeted information from open sources such as libraries, research institutions and unclassified databases. Chinese travelers are recruited to carry out specific intelligence activities, and the Chinese government debriefs returnees from exchange programs, trade missions and scientific-cooperation programs. Chinese citizens may be coerced to cooperate.

Much technology acquisition occurs through commerce and commercial regulations. The regulatory and commercial environment in China pressures American and other foreign companies to transfer technology, capital and manufacturing expertise, especially in defense-related or dual-use industries such as computers, to their Chinese partners as part of doing business in China’s huge, lucrative markets. Chinese agents purchase high-tech equipment through front organizations in Hong Kong. China also uses state-run firms to purchase American companies with access to the targeted technology.

China also accesses foreign technology through industrial espionage, with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials rating China’s industrial-espionage and theft operations as the leading threat to U.S. technological security. Between October 2002 and January 2003 five Chinese businessmen were accused of illegally shipping equipment and trade secrets from California to China, and U.S. officials prevented a Chinese man from shipping a new, high-speed computer used in classified projects (including nuclear-weapons development) from Sandia National Laboratories.

So why is it always “Russia … Russia … Russia” and not “China … China … China” from the media? Two reasons: 1) the Chinese support Democrats and 2) the Russians are Caucasians; the Chinese are not. If any member of the media was to objectively report on China they would be as xenophobic as President Trump when he banned travel from China and their careers would come to a quick end.

There are 78 colleges, universities and public school districts participating in the Confucius Institute program. They include UCLA, Rutgers, Michigan State and Chicago Public Schools.

38 colleges and universities have discovered the Primary Purpose of the Confucius Institute and have either discontinued it or announced plans to do so this year.

Folks, CA-25 will stay Democrat due to BALLOT HARVESTING. Period.

The results will change completely in the Democrat’s favor due to ballots being “harvested” over the next week

Welcome to the People’s Republik of Kalifornia

I could be wrong but wasn’t ca-25 a Repub district? Then Dems narrowly won but their candidate couldn’t keep her pants on.
So a Repub win is not completely unexpected

The WI race went to the Repub. Dems are celebrating because Trump won the district by 20 and this guy won by less
    *rolls eyes*

A Nebraska race saw an AOC Dem win the primary. Dems are excited because NE Dems are trending left.
Good luck in the fall, guys.

    Not a bad night!

    Gee ya think?

Seroka reported that the port handled 689,000 TEUs in April. That’s a 6.5% year-over-year decrease but a big month-over-month improvement. The port handled 449,568 TEUs in March, a year-over-year volume plunge of 30.9%.

“Based on the first quarter of this year, the volume at the Port of Los Angeles was down 18.5%, and now if we add in the April stats we’re down about 15.5%,” he said. “On any given day looking at the traffic moving through the Port of Los Angeles we’re doing about 80% of normal volume for this time of year.”

Ports throughout the United States have been bracing for disappointing second quarters as well.

It is hilarious. PROJECTION of a truly epic nature. Yes, it’s CNN…which is only slightly less comical than the Comedy Channel. And it is Brian Stelter who is only slightly less intelligent than a pile of dog poop. But still…

Eph, the lead is actually 12 points as of 9:00 a.m.

the “harvesting” hasn’t begun in earnest. The Democrats are GOOD at this. Each precinct will soon know how many votes they need to “harvest”…and those will dribble in over the next few days.

    THEN Eeyore can roar!! 🙂

btw, for those who don’t know how the “harvesting” scheme is SUPPOSED to work, as of 5:00 p.m. today every Precinct is SUPPOSED to report how many “outstanding” ballots they have…i.e. IN HAND at the Precinct but not yet counted. That is SUPPOSED to be the limit of fraud.

Ahhhh….but in 2016 in Orange County the Democrats continued “finding” ballots and adding them to the “uncounted” for FIVE DAYS. During that time EVERY Republican seat went Democrat. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

It sure is awesome living in a RIGGED State, eh?

the Democrat has apparently conceded the CA-25 race.

Math. The Democrat machine must have been told the number of “unopened” and uncounted ballots, then looked at the current margin. They know they can X% over the normal Dem/GOP split per precinct. They ran it through their computers and determined that even for them it was a bridge too far…maybe. But if it APPEARED to be fraudulent, which it would have been, then Garcia would have beat her over the head with that in November…when the seat is open again. Math…NOT ethics.

For the same reason the Obama-appointed judge who ordered the Michigan recount ordered it stopped after the Detroit News investigation uncovered that 39% of Detroit precincts reported more votes than ballots cast, including one precinct that reported 306 votes with 50 ballots cast.

33 – Rice was focused on unmasking others (she even admitted as such) as I recall maybe just didn’t do the requests for flynn, today’s release only relate to flynn and the nsa transcript of one call.

34 – Beware of person conceding pulling a Gore. But if real, idk maybe person running would rather just take the L then get real dirty\tainted ‘generating\finding’ ~15k votes. Surprising, then again the seat only lasts for a couple months before they probably win in back with November turnout.

  36. 2020 May 13 3:26 pm

Clearly something was going on also on the 15th\16th of December when all the also-rans in non-intel agencies threw in requests, guessing that day or the day before internal leaks went out from top of administration who had previously requested it on 14th or before in the case of a few.

“Why would the Ambassador to Italy be on the list?”
I don’t know. But ambassador-ships are political favors, yes? So it could be a Dem partisan who offered to help out. Also, wasn’t there an ambassador or other high official to Ukraine who told the locals to ignore Trump since he would be removed from office?
I think Trump was asking for help in rooting out corruption and the US official was throwing shade on the request.

  38. 2020 May 13 3:32 pm

NEWS: There were no unmasking requests from Dec. 29 to Jan. 4—the time between the Flynn-Kislyak calls and when Obama/Biden were briefed—suggesting Flynn’s name was not masked to begin with.

This aligns with McCabe telling lawmakers Flynn call was NOT an intelligence product.”

hmm this conforms with the thought flynn’s call wasn’t scooped up per say in the blanket grabs nsa does, he was a target, possibly of a title 3 warrant.

Bad. But leads me to — Barbers have to take a certification exam but politicians don’t? A barber on a good day handles a couple C notes a day. A Pol makes decisions on billions of OUR money.
