Divided America

According to a just-released Rasmussen poll, the majority of Americans want the protests to end with police cracking down. As with trust in the media and just about every other issue, sentiment is based on party affiliation. In this case, a vast majority of Republicans want the protests/riots to stop, a plurality of unaffiliated voters want them to end and a majority of Democrats want them to continue.

When asked which is closer to their own thinking, 50% of Likely U.S. Voters say the police should crack down on the protests to bring them to an end. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 38% disagree and believe the protests should be allowed to continue until the protesters decide to end them. Eleven percent (11%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

There’s sharp partisan disagreement on this question, though. While 75% of Republicans and a plurality (47%) of unaffiliated voters think the police should crack down on the protests, just 31% of Democrats agree. Fifty-six percent (56%) of Democrats say the protests should be permitted to continue until the protesters want to end them.

I have never seen America so divided…and I lived through the 60s when it was pretty damn divided.

But in the 60s most Americans still believed this country was worth saving…even most of those who wanted radical transformation. Now a huge swath of useful-idiots has been brainwashed to believe the country DESERVES to die…and an entire race (Caucasian) along with it.

There are millions like me who are prepared to fight WHEN it comes to that. If Biden “wins” then that time will come sooner, but either way I expect 2021 to be the year the conflict explodes nationwide, and not confined to the cities.

Consider the difference between prosecutors and other public officials of the 1960s vs. today. The Real Mayor Daley and 1960s states attorney in Cook County versus Mayor Beetlejuice and Kim Foxx today.

While most cities aren’t as bad as Seattle and Portland, the mayors and city councils have played a key roll in the destruction of those two cities.

When I was 7 years old I wanted to be a pirate…luckily I had intelligent parents who decided to let me grow out of it, instead of plucking one of my eyes out (so I could have a cool eye-patch), and then buying me a parrot and a real sword.

Now, however, utterly INSANE people like the “mother” in this case, are encouraged to destroy their children’s lives to show how “woke” they are.

P.s., when I was five I wanted to be a bird…but instead of throwing me off a building to see if I could FLY, my parents let me grow out of that too.

    Compare St Paul and Minneapolis

In Minneapolis, on a desolate lot where Don Blyly’s bookstore stood before being destroyed in the May riots, two men finish their cigarettes and then walk through a dangerous landscape filled with slippery debris and sharp objects. The city won’t let Blyly haul away his wreckage without a permit, and he can’t get a contractor to tell him how much it will cost to rebuild the store until the wreckage is removed.

In St. Paul, where Jim Stage’s pharmacy burned down during the same disturbances, crews have already removed the bricks and scorched timbers. A steel fence keeps out trespassers. Stage expects construction of his new Lloyd’s Pharmacy to begin later this month.

The main reason for the different recoveries is simple: Minneapolis requires owners to prepay the second half of their 2020 property taxes in order to obtain a demolition permit. St. Paul does not

Something we talked about in 2016, when it looked like Hillary was gonna win. Time to talk about it again…IF (God forbid) Joe & his Ho “win”, will they try to “nationalize” (read: SIEZE) all retirement accounts (IRAs, etc)???

There is an estimated $20 TRILLION in them. And yes, it would be illegal and would crash the economy…but are they nuts enough to do it anyway?

    Asking for my country.

Yes they would and they would use the Kelo decision to `legalize` it. Basis for Kelo was highest and best use argument to steal from one party and give to another. So what difference does it make that it is real estate or cash? Housing some 30yr druggie is a better use NOW for the funds than your pathetic retirement (ps: no one particular ok?) YEARS LATER.

Not legal in my view but these are the times we live in.

pps: $20Tn is a drop in the bucket. Consider, the Fed digitally printed $3.x+Tn in 4 months and there is talk of doing it again. Possibly $6Tn in a year. Then there is the loss of reserve currency. That happens all the USDs floating overseas come home and guess what? There is 3x more money OUTSIDE the country than in it. So a $1 can of peas can be $3 overnight. Point is at those rates $20Tn would not run the country but a couple of days so seizure unless done BEFORE the hyper-inflation hits solves nothing.

ppps: Keep in mind the Progs may not even think they need to seize the funds. With their darling Modern Monetary Theory they would just digitally print all the money they want to fund their utopia. Value of your retirement accounts will probably crash to toilet paper but hey you’re an old fart and ought to be in the ovens anyway.

The 15 year old is asking “Dad, why is Trump banning Tik Tok?”
Maybe it’s not a big deal for kids but corporate or gov’t employees use the app, it could help China hack our systems. From the SANS email newsletter:
    TikTok Secretly Collected MAC Addresses
    (August 11 & 12, 2020)

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, the TikTok video-sharing app collected MAC addresses from Android users for more than a year. The app hid the questionable activity with encryption. The activity was conducted for 15 months, ending in November 2019. (Please note that the WSJ story is behind a paywall.)

    Editor’s Note

As more information about inappropriate behavior from TikTok emerges, it’s time to make an active decision whether to block or prohibit the application. Use your MDM to inventory your corporate mobile devices for TikTok. Also took a look at application protections on your BYO devices to make sure that your enterprise information is protected from malicious behavior. Note that not all device/MDM combinations allow blocking installation or removal of disallowed apps.

re: relatively sane 9th Circuit decision on mags, well EVEN on the 9th Circuit there are SOME pro-Constitution judges. A minority, but some.

re: “will they try to “nationalize” (read: SIEZE) all retirement accounts (IRAs, etc)?”
Well, they can’t let us make our own decision what to invest, can they? Too dangerous! We will be forced to buy gov’t bonds. Perfectly safe … unless/until the currency collapses.

re: 19, Keven Clinesmith. Seems to be less than anything. A mere slap on the wrist, no, not even a slap.

    From a Don Surber post:
Shortly after Mr. Trump’s election victory, Mr. Clinesmith texted another official: ‘I honestly feel like there is going to be a lot more gun issues, too, the crazies won finally. This is the tea party on steroids. And the GOP is going to be lost.’
In another text, he wrote, ‘viva le resistance.’
Mr. Clinesmith told the inspector general that he was expressing his personal views but did not let them affect his work.

    From the New Neo blog:
Clinesmith’s lawyers” “Kevin deeply regrets having altered the email. It was never his intent to mislead the court or his colleagues as he believed the information he relayed was accurate. But Kevin understands what he did was wrong and accepts responsibility,”

Neo: Sure, don’t we all change “is” to “is not” unintentionally?

13 – Ronny 1984, and it ain’t happening again, borderline delusional to think otherwise especially in 2020. Trump is either just trolling or delusional. It’s not even remotely the same state it was 30-40 years ago in 1980 and 1984 not politically, not demographically, or really any other way.

19 – Saw, that and to be honest… yawn what a joke, feels like 1 count that will be pled out as prearranged with him most likely.
