I’ll watch a bit of the Convention each night.
    My little contribution ….

My apolitical wife brought home a “No on Prop 16” yard sign yesterday after visiting a friend of hers. That issue is wildfire among many here in CA. It’s also known as ACA-5 as that’s the legislative bill name where they voted to put the Proposition on the ballot.

It’s racism, straight up. Dems should be ashamed.
The California Constitution, pursuant to provisions enacted by the initiative Proposition 209 in 1996, prohibits the state from discriminating against, or granting preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting. The California Constitution defines the state for these purposes to include the state, any city, county, public university system, community college district, school district, special district, or any other political subdivision or governmental instrumentality of, or within, the state.
This measure would repeal these provisions.

One difference between the GOP speakers and the Dems – people who represent the best of America versus a freak show.

It seems the acoustics of the venue for the Republican convention is much better than what was done at the Dem convention. It adds some dimensionality to speakers, even if they are alone on the stage.

    I saw a WV nurse.
She noted that NOT ONLY did PDJT get started on Covid early, such that Dems accused him of xenophobia BUT ALSO he did all kinds of stuff to help such as pass loosening regulations for Tele-health for people like her small town where people don’t have public transit or Ubers to get to caregivers.

That lady is the base. Deplorable as all get-out. I’d be proud to have her as a neighbor.

Keep an eye on Kim Klacik. She may in fact being developing the blueprint that gives the GOP a shot at the urban cores. Reduce the Dim hold on the cities by just 20% and they are toast.

Well I guess he’s not voting for Biden —

So question. Cruising around town I see very few yard signs compared to 2016. Few for Trump, even fewer for Biden. Trend? Portent? Do Not Give a Damn?

Naturally the media is portraying this EXACTLY opposite of what it was.

Universities received another ‘dear colleague’ notice —

“Boards of U.S. university endowments would be prudent to divest from People’s Republic of China firms’ stocks in the likely outcome that enhanced listing standards lead to a wholesale de-listing of PRC firms from U.S. exchanges by the end of next year,” Keith Krach, undersecretary for economic growth, energy and the environment, wrote in the letter addressed to the board of directors of American universities and colleges, and viewed by Bloomberg.

“Holding these stocks also runs the high risks associated with PRC companies having to restate financials,” he said.

I think fewer people are willing to risk vandalism to their cars and houses with bumper stickers and yard signs, especially Trump supporters. Ever hear of a Democrat’s car or house being vandalized?

I understand the no Trump outcome just as you pose it. But what about Biden? Just as you point out it would seem to me that Dim supporters would feel free to show their allegiance.

So….. Could it be that a sizable body of Dims are not going to vote at all or are going to vote for the other guy?

For what little it may be worth last night got 6x dem’s night 1 ratings.

28 – True, in 2016, it might have got you shitty looks from your neighbor or someone taking the sign, but in 2020 it can mean a daily protest on your front lawn or much worse.

The quote below from the end of the article reminds me of a political cartoon from when John Kerry was supposedly trying to “negotiate” a MidEast peace that would include Iran and Israel. The Iranian mullah says: “Israel must be DESTROYED completely!” Then John Kerry turns to Netanyahu and says: “Can’t you meet him halfway??”

The Left/Dem position is that America is THE source of evil and hate in the world. Our history is crap, and a cover up for SLAVERY. All White people MUST kneel and apologize. And only Socialism can “save” the future by cramming the “Green New Deal” down our throats.

And ANYONE who dares to disagree, or dares to openly support President Trump is fair game for WHATEVER you do to them!!! (even if they are a 7 year old kid just wearing a hat)

Then they are STUNNED that we “Deplorables” won’t “meet them halfway”.

    from the article:
==> “This idea that an entire country must be damned because of the actions of a few is dangerous, destructive rhetoric. It causes divisions that can’t even be reconciled. When you’ve got one side decrying the nation as irredeemable, what is the other side supposed to do with that? Yet, that warped view of the most free nation on earth has overtaken the Democratic party.”

I tend to agree with JR, this will ripen. Perhaps in less than a year.
A lot will depend on your local police. Which side will they be on? Will they even be neutral?

“Much of the mass media, -which is ideologically aligned with the rioters and anarchists – continues to refer to the mobs as “protesters” and describe scenes of mass violence and destruction as “peaceful protests.” This is not an oversight. This is not a case of a difference in interpretation.

This is a deliberate effort to prevent the American people from understanding what is happening. This is an intentional tactic designed to keep the population as a whole quiet, compliant, and defenseless.

    Until it is too late.”

    Here too.
But there is the start of Biden signs, just this week. Wait for Labor Day weekend, isn’t that traditionally when people begin to pay attention?
Still, I have to bet that MOST people have made up their minds. If true–the election is over, we just don’t know the numbers yet since the polls are so sucky.

TLS, if you drop by, Ruth Weiss will be talking on Zoom for a bunch of Sunnyvale, CA Repubs on Friday.
She’s VP for Election Integrity Project in CA. I heard her present to the CA legislature during the perfunctory Dem hearings for vote-by-mail. She’s good, and I hope to attend the talk.

Since Eph and the King are so interested in Las Vegas odds:

    Biden: 57%
    Trump: 46.5%

Today Rasmussen is 49% approval/49% disapproval
