The latest chapter in my move saga. We moved Monday. The only choices for cable and internet are AT&T and Comcast – two companies I detest and have tried to avoid all my life. Comcast was cheaper so we went with them.
We completed the paperwork Friday and were told by the sales rep that installation would be Monday or Tuesday. My assistant, who has been working on the phones/internet, followed up with the sales rep yesterday. He did some checking and discovered that our installation is being held up because there is a large unpaid balance from the suite former tenant. Comcast suspects we might be the previous tenant attempting to get service restored under an alias, while skipping out on the unpaid balance.
We learned from another occupant of the floor that the previous tenant – a CPA – died in June and his wife went into complete withdrawal. So she likely didn’t contact Comcast about discontinuing service and hasn’t paid the bill. We sent Comcast a copy of the lease, which should get things moving. But, I have been without a landline or internet during the day this week.

CNBC independent columnist Jake Novak (who called a Trump win in June of 2016 when nobody even remotely thought it was possible) watches this data closely and says an Election Day Dem lead of 215,000 or less virtually assures a Trump win. See his analysis in the below Twitter link. With Dems dominating mail-in voting, the expectation has been that Reps would make up in EV and Election Day. The numbers bear this out. So Dems needed to build up an insurmountable mail-in advantage…they predictably built a numeric advantage, but fell short of what they wanted. Once EV started, Republicans have been virtually storming the polls. Novak says that most analysts feel a 235,000 gap is a sure win for Trump, but he’s being ultra-conservative and going with 215k. So if 215k is the goal, we are currently at Dem advantage of 221,798 which is a shortfall of 6800 of where we need to be going into Election Day. For context, the shortfall was 32,000 this morning, and it was over 150,000 yesterday. And we still have a few days of EV remaining. We should hit the 215k goal by the end of the day TODAY. Everything after that simply add to the cushion going into Nov. 3rd. To sum it up, the Dems will have lost FL by happy hour this evening.
Note: All of this assumes R to D crossover is roughly the same as D to R crossover. Most objective number crunchers feel D to R crossover will be significantly more than the converse.

Listening to Scott Adams this morning, I feel much like he does. He says that his rational mind tells him that Trump is probably going to lose, but the way his body feels (ie. gut) he thinks Trump has it in the bag. There’s a ton of people who feel the same. Such as me, for one.
I’m blaming my sister. She’s a devout Christian and she’s been praying with a bunch of her friends for months now. I think they’re creating a disruption in The Force or something.
All those car parades … boat parades … rallies in blue areas … there’s a TON of grass roots stuff going on and hardly any of it gets reported … one thing it tells me is that even if Trump doesn’t win we’ve got a critical mass of people who have woken up. They will not be going back to sleep. It may take weeks, months, years, decades but that level of consciousness is not gonna evaporate all on its own.
All these people are gonna be doing stuff: buying guns, running for office, home schooling their kids, starting businesses, supporting businesses, the list is endless.
The actions and efforts of these people, and the people whose lives they touch are going to make changes in America over time. Regardless of the election outcome.
Which I still feel, perhaps irrationally, that Trump will win.
