Where Are the GOP and Populist Movement Headed?

2020 November 8
by bc3b

Notice, I said populist (nationalist), not conservative.

The votes have been counted – sometimes far more votes than registered voters. It appears the Democrats control the presidency and the House. Control of the Senate is still in question.

So where will the GOP be headed? What will become of the Populist movement? What role will Donald Trump play?

In many ways Donald Trump would have been a better fit as a Democrat. Like the Democrats, he plays to win and isn’t afraid to get dirty and fight 24/7. As President, he was often undermined by members of he Republican Party (Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, Ben Sasse, etc.). He accomplished more than any Republican president since Reagan, many would say even more than Reagan in terms of appointing traditionalist judges, bringing manufacturing back to America, creating jobs and even winning minority votes, often times battling his own party to do it.

First let’s take a look at the GOP. Will it return to the “play along to get along” party is was prior to Trump? Will it work to mend fences with the US Chamber of Commerce and other elitist groups? Will there be room for populists in the post-Trump GOP? Will congressional Republicans once again simply concentrate on staying in office and not take the risks to make the US a better country like Trump did?

As for populists, they only have one national leader – Donald Trump. What role will Trump and his sons play after January 21? If history and the last four years are any indication, they won’t be surrender monkeys like McCain and Romney. When someone/something crosses Donald Trump, he wants to hit back. I’m sure he has a long list and likely Fox News Channel is high on that list, perhaps even higher than CNN.

Glenn Beck speculates that Trump could possibly build or purchase a media outlet. This would give him an opportunity to continue to communicate his message, keep the populist movement going, battle his enemies, deliver payback, perhaps build a third party and squash FNC  like a bug.

The tradition of former presidents not criticizing the sitting president ended with Jimmy Carter.

It’s going to be interesting to watch what happens.

What are your thoughts?

A media outlet really makes sense, probably an established one like NewsMax TV. Imagine adding people like Candace Owens, Sarah Palin, Kaleigh McEnerny, Steven Miller and hiring Tucker Carlson when his contract is up. Diamond & Silk could have a weekend show. It could also provide a platform for Donald, Jr. and Eric if they plan to ever seek political office.

The mask really came off FNC this election season.

    It occurs to me that
    1) Trump is President till Jan 20th or whatever
    2) He has the right to file lawsuits over election fraud but …
    3) Swamp may decide to forcibly remove him BEFORE Jan because he doesn’t concede
They would use a sequence of steps:
AP and media declare Biden victory
    Networks same
    RINOs call for concession
    Foreign leaders recognize Biden
Crowds of Dems demonstrate all over the country
Coup leaders demand Trump resign or else

    Well, this is awkward:
Congratulations @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris. Joe, we’ve had a long & warm personal relationship for nearly 40 years, and I know you as a great friend of Israel. I look forward to working with both of you to further strengthen the special alliance between the U.S. and Israel.

I wonder if Netanyahu was under pressure.
    Received an ultimatum.

How hard would it be to wait for a more official declaration? Why not wait for the appeals to play out? Why put your thumb on the scale?
How much time are you really buying for Israel from the haters vs the price paid by alienating Americans who actually, you know, stood with Israel.

Interesting but probably inferring the wrong end of the scale —

A second example illustrates a less formal type of theory we deem essential for evaluating any proposed forensic indicator of fraud. We refer here to the argument of Berber and Scacco (2008) for the relevance of looking at the last and next to last digits of vote tallies. They begin by noting that if there is little chance that the perpetrators of fraud fear prosecution even if detected (as is the case in contemporary Russia), it is not unreasonable to be suspicious of precinct or regional tallies that report a proportion of zeros and fives as the last digit in excess of what we expect by chance. Their ‘‘theory’’ here is simply the supposition that absent any legal disincentives for committing fraud, precinct and local election officials can meet their ‘‘quotas’’ and save effort by employing the simple heuristic of rounding off the numbers they report, presumably without regard to actual ballots cast. Indeed, it is precisely rounding of this sort that one finds in abundance in the turnout numbers of Russia’s 2004 and 2008 presidential elections (Buzin and Lubarev 2008). And here we are reminded of the unintentionally humorous remark of Vladimir Shevchuk of Tatarstan’s central election commission when commenting on Russia’s 2000 presidential election that elevated Putin to prominence: ‘‘there has been fraud of course, but some of it may be due to the inefficient mechanism used to count ballots … To do it the right way they would have needed more than one night. They were already dead tired so they did it in an expedient way’’ (Moscow Times, September 9, 2000). Berber and Scacco, though, also confront the possibility that fraud’s perpetrators will seek to disguise their actions, and here they note that if perpetrators attempt to do so by entering what they regard as random (but nevertheless, manipulated) numbers in official tallies, there is a considerable body of experimental evidence in behavioral economics to suggest (as a parallel to the

Essentially is their a higher preponderance of zeros in the distribution for the precincts reporting numbers.

Drdog: “Ditch worrying about federal elections. So long as the Fed elections are rigged there is no use playing. We have to set our sights locally.”

Set our sights locally on politics, but also on allies. I switched my gravitar back to Taras Bulba, and quit Facebook because I, we, need to “go back into the hills” (metaphorically) as Taras Bulba did after his betrayal by the Poles. We may be in these “hills” a long time.

I fully expect the Dems to take the Senate now, but even a 50-50 Senate leaves Kamala breaking ties. Once the Dems control the Senate they will move VERY swiftly to “transform” America…within months. By the end of 2021 the following will have occurred in the following order, and the media will cheerleader the whole process:
    (1) – 4 new Supremes…jammed through with little process, and VERY radical
    (2) – 2 new States (Puerto Rico and D.C.)
    (3) – 20 MILLION new “citizens”
    (4) – the elimination of the Electoral College

The new Supremes will rubber-stamp every action, so they need to be first. As the horseshit ramps up so will the other internal enemies of America, which will “necessitate” drastic measures by Biden (or Harris, by then), which will start the ball rolling towards my prediction that by mid year we all need to be ready defend our communities. There may also be a lot of “tragic boating accidents” as Biden/Harris set about disarming the Deplorables.

I do believe you are being overwrought. Let’s first see how this week plays out. The left has now shown the hand they are playing. Trump has been uncharacteristically quiet and hasn’t yet shown his hand.

For all I know, Trump may simply be resigned to the cheating and go along with it to save himself a world of pain even if he is victorious. However, that doesn’t seem characteristic of Trump to simply give up. If he were that type of person he would have never become president to begin with. Rather than surrendering to the cheating, I believe it is much more likely that Trump will initiate a very strong and effective pushback this week.

This would be done after Trump has evaluated who he can trust to have his back and has consulted with his family that they are up for an all-out battle with the MSM. There is real danger in this for them in this and they all need to be on-board.

  20. 2020 November 8 10:04 am

    (4) – the elimination of the Electoral College

Would of course require a cons amend and they don’t have have the votes for that, but some kind of end around would still be unconstitutional , but with a lib scotus they would go along with it. Forcing the electors to vote based on the national pop vote would make the whole purpose of having electors null and void.It took several centuries for rome to fall, but we did it in a generation.

25, yes the stakes are high for the other side. Obviously, we have the upper hand due to the Electoral College. Indeed, the motivation for the coordinated cheating could well be something like “We won the popular vote in ’16, Repubs only won due to the EC. Which is not fair, and justifies us cheating!”

mpt is likely right that I am a bit overwrought to consider the possibility of an actual coup. But if events start to turn … we do have 70 million legit voters on our side, after all … if AZ goes into the win column and PA is flipped and MI is selected for a recount … if there begins to be cracks in the wall I could imagine panic descending onto the Dem/GOPe/MSM/BigTech/China/Iran alliance such that they activate Plan B. Full censorship, mobs in the street, emergency control of media and so on.

If Trump in the end does decide to not fight (I don’t think this will happen) I think it will be forgivable. Many lefties honestly believe Trump, every member of his family, much of his staff will be arrested on January 21st for all the crimes they imagine have been committed. Currently, there is very little chance of this as it would set a horrible precedent — the precedent that protected Hillary from investigation and charges following her loss.

However, if Trump fights hard, scores some major victories, but still comes up short and Biden becomes president, I do believe he and his family will in both legal and physical danger from the leftist who by that time will be out for literal blood. This has to be weighing heavily on Trump’s mind with regards to whether to put his family in that kind of danger. I know it would be on mine if I were in his position.

Just as wrestling has its true believers, so has Faux News. With Chris Wallace moderation of the first debate and election night coverage, the blinders were lifted from many of them. Newsmax TV and One America may not be enough to steal viewers from Faux, but Trump TV would be.

Last time I checked, Christ is still on the throne. Even if the ruling class elites engineer a coup that has the brief appearance of dominance, their darkness will be exposed one day.

Fanaticism, and that’s what these totalitarians are – fanatics, always appears unbeatable. Until, in a single moment, it all melts away in the light of truth. Their day to account for what they have done is coming…..coming real soon!

Here is a “must read” gem of real truth:

“The celebrations also include a lot of hate toward Trump and those who support him.

All of this suddenly-covid-is-gone-and-we-can-pour-into-the-streets-screaming-and-singing-and-sharing-glasses-of-champagne-because-as-leftists-we-are-not-super-spreaders joy is for the shell of a corrupt demented man who they claim beat a President who ushered in four years of peace (don’t they like peace?), brought our troops home (don’t they like the end of endless wars?), created an environment for the economy to grow to record levels (don’t they like a booming economy and low unemployment?), championed the black community (don’t they like a thriving black community?), negotiated brilliant deals that finally put America first (don’t they want our country to be strong?), made us energy independent (don’t like energy independence?), listened to and cared about the forgotten men and women of America the left claims they care about (don’t they want the middle class to thrive?), and put God and country first.

    I could go on.

But the main points about the paragraph above are that far too many Americans are uninformed, brainwashed, and/or want to transform our exceptional country into something else. Something bleak. Something tyrannical.

Which brings me to the second question I posed at the outset: Have we passed the tipping point where there are not enough informed patriots (and that includes elected officials) to salvage what’s left of the country?”

Have we passed the tipping point where there are not enough informed patriots (and that includes elected officials) to salvage what’s left of the country?

I believe the answer to your question will only be answered decades past the tipping point has been reached. It’s impossible to tell a tipping point has been reached when you are in the middle of it. This nation has had incredible highs and incredible lows and somehow has endured. For all we know, this time is no different.

We all have to do what we have to do to keep ourselves and our families safe, but for me, the best course of action is to move forward with the assumption that things are not as dire as they may seem. I simply couldn’t function if I believed the American experiment is over and failed. I refuse to let the bastards get me down permanently. Although, I’ll freely admit they do a damn good job on some days.

Being far behind enemy lines in Kalifornia, I’ll continue to boycott social media and put my technical talents to work to have a minimal footprint on the Internet to avoid becoming an easy target to be canceled. Employment is my biggest vulnerability, but it’s not a dire situation and my talents are fairly unique and rare. I’ll do what I can to not give financial or moral support to the tech companies that are our sworn enemies. To anyone I believe may be willing to listen to reasoned debate, I’ll engage where I can to turn hearts and minds, but I’ll refuse to argue with idiots who are just itching for a reason to cancel me or do worse.
