If the Left Didn’t Have Hypocrisy …
… what would it have?
Democrats with the assistance of 11 RINOs, stripped Marjorie Taylor Greene for some inflammatory things she has said (or Tweeted), but what about their own members – especially The Squad.
AOC says outrageous things all the time, most recently (that we know of) being that Ted Cruz and the mob were trying to kill her when she wasn’t even in the building where the protests were taking place.
Ilhan Omar married her brother so he could stay in the US, spent over $1-million on questionable services with a political consulting firm owned by her third husband and supports terrorist groups.
Rashida Tlaid (D-MI) is known for her anti-Semitic diatribes.
Mad Maxine donates hundreds of thousands from campaign funds as a “personal welfare program” to support an otherwise useless daughter.
Yet the Republicans refuse say boo about any Democrats (even when they controlled both houses of Congress).
Every time there is a Republican with a spine, the Democrats attack and, in some cases, the Republicans carry water and pass them ammunition.
To the Democrats, “unity” and “bi-partisanship” have the same meaning as “Islam” in Arabic – SURRENDER.
Suddenly, free speech is a crime.
[1]
Bc3b: “Suddenly, free speech is a crime.”
Gradually…then suddenly. From ‘1984’
“Don’t you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make thought-crime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it. Every concept that can ever be needed will be expressed by eactly one word, with its meaning rigidly defined and all its subsidiary meanings rubbed out and forgotten. . . . The process will still be continuing long after you and I are dead. Every year fewer and fewer words, and the range of consciousness always a little smaller. Even now, of course, there’s no reason or excuse for commiting thought-crime. It’s merely a question of self-discipline, reality-control. But in the end there won’t be any need even for that. . . . Has it ever occcured to you, Winston, that by the year 2050, at the very latest, not a single human being will be alive who could understand such a conversation as we are having now?”
[2]
Eph: “DOW 50k by end of this year????”
Probably.
Also, probably the cost of a hamburger.

Regarding banks, yes we’ve put most stuff at the credit union. Much more interest and they’ve got an app for online banking. Still have a Big Bank account. Auto deposit and bill pay plus a credit card and piece of mind to have an ATM in a remote town but really … we don’t NEED it. We keep reducing our usage. No interest. High mortgage interest.
Lots of fees if you don’t have a large account.
Hmmm.
Maybe I need to cut back further! Or close outright. We don’t need them.

Eph, my wife and I will use the $2,800 to buy more silver, and other commodities we will need when the system collapses…which it WILL very soon.

It’s February 5. How many days to the revolution?
[7]
First things first:
https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2021/02/150-people-were-shot-chicago-illinois-sent-daniel-greenfield/
And it’s freezing in the Midwest – snowed last night and high of 20 in Motown today. At least Detroit thugs are smart enough to realize shooting people is a warm weather sport.
[8]
6 BC,
As soon as the system collapses.
I give it 14 days tops
[9]
Rand,
With $2800 you could actually buy fractioned gold bullion.
[10]
….Not going to be chasing this market today especially as it’s hitting the top end of S&P RR or close to it at this moment. Just light profit taking (not sell everything)
hedgeye risk range for SPX (BULLISH) for 2/5/21
S&P 500
low end of risk range 3,780
high end of risk range 3,911
The real equity opportunity was buying with the VIX at 37 a few days ago when it was Armageddon time on bloomberg. Now it’s just some profit taking when the VIX is closing in on lows again (20.95 at the moment). Of note China seems to be questionably slowing a bit at least worth monitoring. the rest of EEM is all booming for now. The dollar resumed its fall today (no regime change in the trend despite the recent bump at least for now.) BTC is getting close to the top end of its RR as well.

Another metal to consider for your Covid check?
https://donsurber.blogspot.com/2021/02/highlights-of-news_5.html
ITEM 8: NBC reported, “The Biden White House is considering sending masks directly to American households, according to three people familiar with the discussions, an action the Trump administration explored but scrapped.”
Some big donor must be stuck with a billion masks because there is no mask shortage in the USA. None.
What Americans could use is ammo. Lots and lots of ammo. There is an ammo shortage. How about sending a few thousand rounds to every legal gun owner in America?
[12]
Looking at the picture included with this piece; I have decided that for some people demanding they wear two masks may not be enough….
[13]
Jim, 3,
If my CU offered SWIFT access my wife would cut her ties with the banks.
As it is I am trying to get her to switch to using BTC to do some of the transfers to home. One of these days it will happen.
[14]
drdog, private citizens use SWIFT? I guess I’ve never wired funds to a foreign country so yeah, maybe wires don’t do international. Interesting.
Still having a minor acct and perhaps a safety deposit box but no major usage might make sense for most of us.
[15]
“… private citizens use SWIFT?”
Yes indeed they can. There is a lower limit to do so however. Technically ‘you’ don’t use it your fininst does it in your name. You have to provide the fin details of the receiver as to their fininst as well.
Use to have a deposit box but gave that up for the insulated gun safe I got from a estate sale.

Covid daily hospitalizations down to 89k from almost 140k daily hospitalizations a month ago. Looks good in the short term although there are some scenarios out there for a big March-April spike based on the variants.

What’s crazy is we never closed our borders to South Africa when that strain broke out there. If that more infectious strain comes here, the power of exponential growth causes more havoc that intuition would expect. Seems like we needed more time to get vaccinations done before that thing comes here.

[20]
Thing I don’t like about gold as a reserve currency is its stock to flow is somewhat low. If you hold it for 100 years, you lose 85% of what you put in. Not only that if, the price of gold ever went to say $20000/ounce, the amount of yearly mining would go to the moon, and probably Elon would literally go to the moon and beyond to do asteroid mining as well. It’s expensive to store, difficult to liquidate. BTC has its downsides too for instance if we get EMP’d but maybe just buy guns and join a violent gang at that point.
There is a chance that stock to flow approaches infinity for BTC as seen here. I like these numbers better

Speaking of hypocrisy, some of the women’s national soccer team players (including the fugly lesbian) are supporting transgender athletes.
Considering the US Women’s Team was beaten 5-2 by a U-15 boys team in Dallas a few years back, that may not be a wise move. The best adult women players in the US were trounced by a bunch of very good 9th grade boys – not the best boys nationally, just the best boys in the Dallas area. The Australian women’s national team lost 7-0 to a U-15 boys team.
Be careful what you wish for, you fugly witch.

Hedgeye UST10Y (BULLISH) risk range 2/5/21
10-YEAR U.S. TREASURY YIELD
high end 1.17
low end 1.07
10 year just hit the top end of its range 1.17 with more significant steepening today in the yield curve. One would expect it to do mean reversion downward at this point causing a gold bounce, but gold is in a overall bearish trend tho in short term it makes sense to buy it. But….why not just buy its cousin silver that is bullish trend with commodities.
I just sold some more bank stocks and bought silver.
Of course the alternative explanation is that the 10 year is entering such a bullish explosion that it’s about to explode out of its range (I kind of doubt but…. possible)

35,
Boring Co. as a base for a people mover makes little sense at the cost per mile. But what if they sized the tunnel to accept a 2x2stack of airfreight containers? A complete load would 8 containers. Airplane direct to warehouse without transshipping. Air freight is a high value proposition so there is more payback in reducing the handling. DFW is surrounded by freight terminals within 2mi of the facility. It could do for airfreight what cargo containers did for shipping/trucking.
Boring Co. + Amazon, match made in heaven.
