Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, young American men lined up to join the Armed Forces and fight for their country. They became known as the “Greatest Generation.” Think how the country has changed since 1941 (a saner time).

Right there with ya buddy. DeBlasio is going to lock down NYC so tight that given enough time it will collapse that cities’ economy.

Nearly all the WWII vets are gone now and we are poorer for their passing.

    When it rains…

It pours. Anyone actually believe Zucker didn’t know exactly what was up?

^at the tail end it discusses the contract suit that’s about to happen, no matter what contract stipulates something tells me despite claiming (right now) they’re not going to pay out a penny, cnn will settle for something less than full price along with an nda as Cuomo likely has plenty of dirty laundry he could share about the operations at cnn.

Of course Zucker knew he was hiding sleazeballs. But CNN is in the middle of a format change which means they have to get rid of the old talent at the top. Now they could offer a severance package and fire them all. But that costs money. Cheaper to tell the hosts, “Two choices, we can expose you for your criminality thru social media so you never work again. Or we can fire you for journalistic reasons and you might get a chance to work elsewhere. You pick.” Either way they get no money going out the door.

Worth reading, so too is her book I imagine.

What I find strange though is the claim some of these R operatives claim to have not known the extent to which CTCL was up too. BS. If people on this blog (randoms) could see it clear as day there is no reason imho actual paid operatives in the game didn’t know it was happening.

10 – It’s actually the newer ownership that makes me think they’ll settle for like 10-20c on the dollar…just to make it go away and stay quiet for awhile so they can get on with re-branding\rebuidling – but that assuming they’re serious.

bc3b, thanks for the Pearl Harbor tribute!

I want to post three pictures, in three comments. This one is when the whole family traveled to Pearl Harbor a couple years before my father-in-law, CPO Jim Jett, passed away. The people at the visitor’s center treated him, a Pearl Harbor survivor, like gold.

this one is from July 2005, when we went to Pearl Harbor to scatter his ashes, The Navy took us out in a launch at sunset, but since the Missouri is now moored exactly where the Maryland was that day , the Navy said they would get as close to the Missouri as they could…they got even closer than this picture, and they helped my mother-in-law kneel and scatter his ashes right next to the Missouri.

this picture is from when we went back to Hawaii a couple years later to lay a plaque in the Punchbowl Military Cemetery, though his remains were scattered at Pearl. The Navy helped with this too. His plaque commemorates his “book-ending” of the war…he was on duty on December 7 aboard the Maryland (radioman), and witnessed the surrender from the deck of the USS Pasadena in Tokyo harbor.

That’s my wife and her brother standing behind the plaque. Danny (my brother-in-law) is a trumpeter and played taps…the sound carried across the cemetery and everyone within earshot stopped while he played. Truly beautiful.

They care not of the long run, only the here and now and how it can be used to against political opponents of the day, and make no mistake it’s still about Trump and AF minded associates. Besides in the long run they know their supposed political opponents at least in congress are nutless wonders and will not use the same bullshit against them, and if they grow balls and dare too they have their mass media arms of the party to pound them over it for year if necessary inventing things as needed and parroted as fact.

Random: Is there a way I can ‘go long’ on carrier pigeons?

I’m surprised Elon is getting this political. I wonder what the story is behind his boldness in this regard.

  23. 2021 December 7 7:34 pm

24 – IDK, I know he’s cashed out something like ~10B of shares in Tesla in the last 45 days though, though a large portion of that is reportedly and probably to cover for other shit and taxes other stuff that will be payable in the new year. It’s gotta be a little liberating to be sitting on 10B.. liquid, even if it’s short lived. That said it’s not the first time Elon has been vocal about something in the political arena, particularly now that everything is politicized. It was just him tweeting it or something though it was in response to being asked about it.

    Source of the tweet’s content…

“Honestly, I would just can this whole bill,” said Musk, ranked number two on the 2021 Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest Americans. “Don’t pass it. That’s my recommendation.”

Musk argued that the federal government should “get out of the way and not impede progress,” emphasizing that the government ought to be a “referee” rather than a “player on the field.”

“Rules and regulations are immortal,” Musk said at the Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council event on Thursday evening. “They don’t die. The vast majority of rules and regulations live forever … there’s not really an effective garbage collection system for removing rules and regulations, so this hardens the arteries of civilization where you are able to do less and less over time.”

[it goes on…read the whole thing, he says far more ‘political’ things then BBB]

BTW I see the federal-contractor mandate bullshit was nation-wide TRO’d today.

I think we knew this like a week after the hoax was playing out…but confirmed in court today…even if it was later stricken from the record.
Will Lemon be next at CNN? I mean that’s both a pending assault case and helping ‘a brother’ out cases for Lemon. What’s really funny is even as the Chicago PD were reaching out to Lemon to let him know the story had major holes, and Lemon was reaching out to Jessie to let him know the cops thought his story had holes….CNN continued to push the hoax. Did Lemon ever pass on to rest of the folks at CNN that this might be bullshit and to back-off the story in a timely manner? When was Zuck told, what was the response. A question I’m sure nobody will ask.

Follow up, not sure why the question was stricken from the record, it being on the record could be potentially useful in libel suits against cnn, in that discovery on the above questions in addition to someone elses case could show a pattern of pushing stories they knew internally to be dubious, if not out right false.

No Jab, No Food: Canadian Province Imposes New Regulations to Ban Unvaccinated from Grocery Stores
Since Saturday, people in New Brunswick, Canada are now required to show proof of full vaccination in public. Failure to provide proof of full vaccination will result in citizens being barred from entering grocery stores to buy food, True North reported.

This new provision was announced as part of the province’s “winter action plan,” which allows any business, including grocery stores, the right of denying entry to any unvaccinated food shopper. The new provision raises questions from the health experts regarding the need to impose such a plan as the province’s daily cases remain low.

It helps in a few cases, hurts in others. One such “hurt” is if you got infected, recovered and have natural antibodies. For that situation getting Stabbed hurts your immunity and outcomes if the numbers are to be believed

So I wonder does Walmart, Whole Foods and Costco deliver in that area? If not there is a perfect monopoly based service. People place order on your website for what they want. You go get it. Send the total to the customer before you leave the store + 30%. Pay on demand you see. Then you deliver it.

30 – It’s not exaggerated, I posted similar link of same news from different source either up thread or day before, they can deny, or they can comply with bunch of spacing requirements. The bottom line though is it opens the door for store owners to discriminate based on a persons blood\dna content.

32 – As if people can afford the 30% premium on already inflated food costs…doesn’t sound like a good model to me at all.
