America’s Woke Military Struggles to Recruit

2022 June 29
by bc3b

It’s no secret that all branches of the Armed Forces are struggling to recruit new members. Last week the military removed the high school graduate requirement.

Being in the military requires far more sacrifices than the possibility of losing your life. It also entails making many sacrifices in your personal life, particularly for single enlisted personnel.

In the military people give up much of their privacy. It begins with basic training and for single enlisted personnel it can continue throughout their enlistment. While the World War II style barracks are pretty much a thing of the past, there are still common lavatory facilities and other infringements on personal freedoms.

Back in the Nam era, members of the military kept their personal lives private. Unless someone told others, the fellow troops didn’t know if he/she was a Republican, Democrat or non-political, what religious denomination, if any, they belonged to, whether they were straight or gay. Other than believing in the country and being a “good soldier,” no one told you what to believe. There were no courses on transgenderism, racial equity (how whites oppress blacks), etc. Today all that has changed as the government wants to convert members of the military to be card carrying liberals.

In the Nam era, gay troops kept it to themselves. Today gay pride flags fly on military complexes throughout June. Transgender females (physical males) are housed in the same housing facilities and lavatories.

Military leaders in the past were people the troops generally respected. They weren’t necessarily liked, but they were generally respected. A far cry from today – 30 rows of ribbons can’t make someone like Mark Milley look like a strong leader or any less of a “girly man.”

Today’s military is making the same mistake as Major League Baseball – ignoring its base to appease the left. Just as many who followed MLB for decades have abandoned the sport, many patriotic young men and women (perfect candidates for the military) take a look at today’s armed forces and see something they want no part of. They don’t want to be forced to believe that men can get pregnant, they were born racist or other liberal lies. Some deep thinkers are probably be concerned that some day they may be ordered to suppress Americans who don’t agree with the approved prevailing culture.

Laura Ingrham had former Lt. Col Stuart Scheller – who was drummed out of the Marines for criticizing out exit from Afghanistan – on her show to discuss the problems facing today’s military. Here’s that interview.

My understanding is that there is an overrepresentation of Trans individuals in the military because the expensive surgery is covered by our taxpayer dollars.

Being a navy brat kinda soured me about considering the military as a career. Over the span of time, it looks like the karma of that decision ended up on the plus column. I guess what saddens me the most is that for many joining the DoD was a way to gain skills and escape whatever loss of opportunity you faced. Now even that is gone in the onslaught of wokeness.

Working across party lines not a big selling point LOL.
“Boebert brushes off challenge: Lightning rod GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert survived a primary in the 3rd District against state Sen. Don Coram, who touted his ability to work across party lines. Boebert had 64 percent to Coram’s 36 percent”

Being a 5 term RINO not a big selling point?
“Miller defeats Rodney Davis: Freshman GOP Rep. Mary Miller, who had former President Donald Trump’s endorsement, defeated five-term Rep. Rodney Davis for their party’s nomination in the 15th District. ”

You can’t win them all ….
“Guest stages big comeback: After finishing second in the June 7 Republican primary, Rep. Michael Guest came back in a runoff to beat a challenger who questioned his conservative credentials and commitment to former President Donald Trump. ”
Guest supported the J6 committee and got endorsements from RINOs.

Prediction: the GOP ‘moderate’ will fail
O’Dea beats Hanks for Senate nod: Construction company owner Joe O’Dea won the Republican primary to challenge Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet in November. O’Dea was leading state Rep. Ron Hanks 57 percent to 43 percent when The Associated Press called the race at 7:35 p.m. Mountain time. Inside Elections with Nathan L. Gonzales rates the November race Solid Democratic, but National Republicans think it could be competitive in a climate that favors Republicans, and their hopes of winning the seat increase with the more moderate O’Dea as the nominee.

“Company that went woke and banned a product line (MyPillow) based on politics is now making their stores uncomfortable for their more selective customer base.”

    More ‘selective’:
Marty: The last time Tap toured America, they where, uh, booked into 10,000 seat arenas, and 15,000 seat venues, and it seems that now, on their current tour they’re being booked into 1,200 seat arenas, 1,500 seat arenas, and uh I was just wondering, does this mean uh…the popularity of the group is waning?
Ian: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no…no, no, not at all. I, I, I just think that the.. uh.. their appeal is becoming more selective.

If we dampen the economy … and spend more for gov’t programs … and raise interest rates, well, you will see deficits rise even higher. Here’s a nice chart on it.

So … who will buy the US bonds to cover the shortfall?
    Not Russia.
China and Japan holdings are going down and some Euro nations are increasing their holdings.
I guess we could re-institute QE and “buy” our own debt LOL. In the meantime, here’s data on the holdings of foreign gov’ts over recent time.

Retail is going to be a shell of its former self going forward. For no other reason than the Boomers have aged out of the spend cycle and are now mostly in retirement. The GenX, et. al. are all smaller generations going forward. My guess is that Millenials and GenZ types are more into experiences than other forms of money spending.

Interesting piece on foreign fighters serving UA.
Footage, stats and short interviews. Less than 8 min.
    1) a crap ton of them have been killed
    2) RU classes them as mercenaries and prisoners can be condemned to death not treated as POW
    3) it’s way different to be in Iraq, etc as a dominant force compared to being on the receiving end of artillery, missiles, mortars.
    4) many are sucked in by Western media stories of RU atrocities. Some at least of those stories, well, are questionable
    5) one guy interviewed had fought in Sverodonetsk for 10 days “I never saw a Russian soldier”. So … we hear the UA side report yes we are losing ground yes we are suffering a lot of casualties BUT we’re killing more of them. It’s curious that we know RU casualty levels but the UA soldiers never see them. Possible I suppose. Maybe they are hurting RU with artillery and drones far from view.

drdog, the New World Order cretins NEED a World War III to mask the way they’ve fucked up the world, and to usher in their plans to “rescue” the world.

Newton’s Laws of Inertia are coming into play, in this order:
Objects in motion tend to remain in motion. Right now Americans are still going about their lives, grumbling about prices and shortages…and various OUTRAGES…being thrust upon them. There is a MASSIVE inertia to the American economy, and the desire of Americans to generally live their lives with minimal interference. But what happens when that “inertia” wanes???…which it IS.

Objects at rest tend to remain at rest. When the “object” that is the American economy & the American spirit comes to rest…which it IS coming to rest…then getting it in “motion” again may well be impossible, without a catastrophic event…or EVENTS.

teaser: story out right now: “Buttigieg launches $1B pilot to build racial equity in roads
American can’t afford to put fuel in their vehicles, which is ok, since going ANYWHERE to buy ANYTHING is damn near pointless at this point. And BUTT-PLUG is going to throw $1 BILLION into his unicorn plan to make ROADS less RACIST??????????????

Argument about the result of “Remain in Mexico” decision by Supreme Court

    SCOTUSblog @SCOTUSblog
The Supreme Court ALLOWS the Biden administration to terminate the controversial Trump-era asylum policy known as “remain in Mexico.” Red states argued that Biden was obliged to keep the policy, but SCOTUS says in a 5-4 ruling that the administration can end it.

    Ian Millhiser
No. SCOTUS remanded the case back to Trump Judge Kacsmaryk. He will almost certainly make up a reason to rule against Biden again, and the Fifth Circuit will almost certainly affirm him.

Best case, it’s probably going to be another year before Biden can end Remain in Mexico.

I watched some, but not all, of Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony. A few observations: she had a complete makeover between the previous tapings and her appearance this week. She now has a tan and dropped 15 – 20 pounds. Her testimony was either prepared by or totally scripted by a lawyer. She used terms that a 25-year old normally wouldn’t, like “in the vicinity of” and very often “something to the effect of” so she can’t be tried for perjury.

As it currently stands and for the foreseeable future, the LWO is headed for a fall. Just cuz you assume you are an elite does not mean you are immune to the effects of the fall of civilization. Look at any period of upheaval and what you find is that those at the top, though affected last, usually ended up with a severe case of SADs. For monarchists it was usually via the lopping of heads…. I’m a cancer surgeon. Lots of folks with bad problems. Lately, I’m seeing many more folks with really bad, advanced, high-grade cancers, mostly vaccinated, and a great deal of delayed wound healing. Some are due to delay in seeking evaluation. My observations and experience, while anecdotal and not quantifiable, are mirrored by many of my colleagues across the country. We are busier than ever, yet working with supply chain disruptions and understaffing, and finding it increasingly difficult to GET THINGS DONE. It’s everywhere, not just my little backwater metro location in the Deep South. Compounding the effects of these are the cultural changes wrought upon medicine by the triple whammy of the POTUS 44, COVID-19 and the World Economic Forum. …

Excellent idea the author has. Personally I would, at the state level, require competency tests before someone can have their name placed on the ballot. They should be able to recite the Act in the USC that enables the position they are running for and the 10 original Bill of Rights. If they cannot they are not placed.

Now, China has exited all of them.
Of course the Chinese offshore oil company CNOOC was blacklisted/delisted from the NYSE, banned for trading by US citizens and subject to tariffs among other things.

I’m guessing they worry about being sanctioned further and having their investments frozen or expropriated so instead they have made a permanent decision to align with RU.
