2009 In Reflection — Things I Learned in 2009

2009 December 31

Best New Year wishes to all of my BJG friends and compatriots… I pray that 2010 brings us success in all of our endeavors with a renewal and strengthening of the United States envisioned by our Founding Fathers and enjoyed in our youth.

As I bid adieu to 2009 I am reminded of the “new” things I learned this year, such as:

(1)   Obama’s government thinks I am an “extremist” because I believe in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights…and will exercise my 1st Amendment rights often and loudly: Obama calls Tea Party attendees Extremists.

(2)   Obama’s government frets more about the danger of returning veterans than the Muslims who want to kill us  Homeland security memo focuses on returning veterans and  Obama’s administration after “extremists” versus Napolitano changes WOT to Man Caused Disaster … and this is funny … the reason why…lol…(emphasis added).

Napolitano tells the German news site Spiegel Online that while she presumes there is always a threat from terrorism: “I referred to “man-caused” disasters. That is perhaps only a nuance, but it demonstrates that we want to move away from the politics of fear toward a policy of being prepared for all risks that can occur.”

(3)   Obama’s half white skin is very thin … Obama can’t handle criticism from Fox News,   Rush Limbaugh, and others.

(4)   And, happily, gravity still exists… and what goes up… comes down….Obama’s falling popularity….

Ummm… maybe #4 should be that a large number of the American people realized in 2009:

What did you learn?

    excellent post, judy!

Obama has surrounded himself with idealogues, and any consideration of their “competency” was an afterthought. Witness Janet Napalitano.

Our enemies KNOW how imcompetent the Obama Regime is…and how blinded it is to certain threats (especially Jihadi ones).

Speak the truth boldly and without fear. The left knows only lies and intimidation. It takes personal courage to defeat these tactics, but when you do you will have the support of millions.

I especially liked your thoughts on “gravity” — that what goes up must come down, in relationship to Obama’s poll numbers

It is less what I have learned than a reminder, of what has been a wonderful trait of the American public. It is called their “resilience” to adverse circumstances.

This has been demonstrated in the creation of the Tea Party movement –something spontaneous born out of the reckless election of an incompetent leader.

At least for the last 200+ years the American people seem to rise out of all kinds of problems — including depressions, wars, political folly, 9/11 — and compensate with their own strength and courage to bring the U.S. to a standing position again.

Hopefully 2010 will see the by-products of this resilience by having a resurgence of passionate common sense flooding the voting booths in November.

I learned that I am a threat to national security, even though I do not break the law- I don’t even speed! I am a threat because I am a Christian, and a Conservative. Amazing. All this while Muslims intent on the death of infidels (read: anyone but muslims) are home free, as they were not on the list.

I learned that I am a racist if I hold to my personal set of beliefs, and challenge those who step on them. I am a racist if I do not bow down and worship at Obama’s feet. Somewhere along the way, his sheeple forgot that he is half white, and was raised by white people while his father ditched him. I learned that cops are racist when they do their jobs, and that Obama will call them out even without any facts whatsoever. But would be bombers with explosives in their undies are “alleged” not guilty, even though 300 witnesses pointed right at him.

From my response in another thread yesterday, but I will repeat it- I learned our government is:

More aggressive with the hacker than Gore……more aggressive with the kids who exposed ACORN than ACORN itself…..more aggressive with Wilson over You Lie! than the lies Obama was telling….so on. You are the bad guy if you are the one who exposes the mess in government, vs being the mess maker.

I learned that our representatives do not represent anything or anyone other than the highest bidder. No morals, and easily bought. I also learned that my phone calls mean nothing. Which I think is exactly what they wanted me to learn.

Here is the most important thing I learned though-

My fellow Americans (the ones with brains) are waking up, and speaking out. We are arm in arm standing up for what is right. No one is sitting by waiting for things to get better, they are making change. I have seen old people, young people, and people in between, stand together peacefully and declare that they will adhere to their values and stand up for what is right even if they get slapped with a terrorist label. Though admittedly, some people should get a bad label for pasty legs and certain types of shorts, but that is a discussion for another day.

I’m no slouch when it comes to political warfare. As everyone knows, I rejoiced at the deaths of Dr. Tiller and Sen. Kennedy, because I believe they were evil men, performing evil deeds daily, and nothing but their own deaths could stop that from happening.

As I see it the difference is primarily twofold:

1 I don’t want to make life and death decisions for anyone but myself, I don’t call for the government to make these decisions for anyone else…. The left calls for the deaths of people while demanding the authority over their medical care, so, if they wished, they could make it happen…

2 Rush does nothing but talk. He has no power to take life, as Tiller did, or as Kennedy (in a smaller way) did, in his capacity as a senator.

    Another one:

    From R.E. Tyrell

. Four days after UFA’s attempt to blow up Northwest Flight 253 as it landed in Detroit, President Obama finally got it right when he said, “A systemic failure has occurred, and I consider that totally unacceptable.”….

…..The lesson that the President should have learned from last week’s “systemic failure” is that government is a very imperfect instrument. A government that takes over 16% of our economy promising to bring us good health at a reasonable cost is an instrument doomed to failure and at a catastrophic cost.

And yet more outrage and despotism:

    Obama grants immunity to INTERPOL

Last Thursday, December 17, 2009, The White House released an Executive Order “Amending Executive Order 12425.” It grants INTERPOL (International Criminal Police Organization) a new level of full diplomatic immunity afforded to foreign embassies and select other “International Organizations” as set forth in the United States International Organizations Immunities Act of 1945.

By removing language from President Reagan’s 1983 Executive Order 12425, this international law enforcement body now operates – now operates – on American soil beyond the reach of our own top law enforcement arm, the FBI, and is immune from Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) requests.

On 31 January 1970, Russell issued a statement which condemned Israeli aggression in the Middle East and called for Israeli withdrawal from territory occupied in 1967. The statement said that:

The tragedy of the people of Palestine is that their country was “given” by a foreign power to another people for the creation of a new state. The result was that many hundreds of thousands of innocent people were made permanently homeless. With every new conflict their numbers increased. How much longer is the world willing to endure this spectacle of wanton cruelty? It is abundantly clear that the refugees have every right to the homeland from which they were driven, and the denial of this right is at the heart of the continuing conflict. No people anywhere in the world would accept being expelled en masse from their own country; how can anyone require the people of Palestine to accept a punishment which nobody else would tolerate? A permanent just settlement of the refugees in their homeland is an essential ingredient of any genuine settlement in the Middle East. We are frequently told that we must sympathise with Israel because of the suffering of the Jews in Europe at the hands of the Nazis. […] What Israel is doing today cannot be condoned, and to invoke the horrors of the past to justify those of the present is gross hypocrisy.

He died 2 days later on 2 Feb 1970…

Russell of course, was wrong, as the Jews had settled the land first, and the Jordanians and Egyptians who followed them did so for jobs only, and had plenty of land of their own.

Russell was somewhat naive, but not totally blind to all evil….

In August 1920, Russell traveled to Russia as part of an official delegation sent by the British government to investigate the effects of the Russian Revolution.[26] He met Lenin and had an hour-long conversation with him. In his autobiography, he mentions that he found Lenin rather disappointing, and that he sensed an “impish cruelty” in him. He also cruised down the Volga on a steam-ship. Russell’s lover Dora Black also visited Russia independently at the same time — she was enthusiastic about the revolution, but Russell’s experiences destroyed his previous tentative support for it.

Impish cruelty? You don’t say. I’d say that was a near perfect description of the man’s physical appearance, which happened to exactly mirror his personality..

Anyway, Russell was foolish and naive, but not so bad as Shaw, who was a bald faced communist totalitarian and apologist…..

He described the failure to stop the would-be underwear bomber despite MASSIVE information that SHOULD have stopped him.

His take (which I agree with 100%) was that the dots WERE being connected on the Nigerian bomber…at PROSECUTION SPEED. Because the Obama Regime is more concerned with CONVICTIONS that fighting terrorism, people were (and are) building CASES they can use in court, instead of moving aggressively to STOP the crime in the first place!

I guess we need MORE lawyers…we arm THEM and put THEM in the front lines! Then when someone shoots at them we remind to collect evidence FIRST, and only then can they return fire! Yup, that’ll work.

Numerous sources are reporting that Peter Moore, a British computer consultant who’s been held hostage in Iran since May 2007 — was kidnapped by Khazali’s group precisely because they wanted a bargaining chip to negotiate for Khazali’s release.

Qais Qazli wasn’t just some run of the mill Shia thug; his group is backed by Iran. Qazali’s men were trained by Iranian Qods Force to infiltrate and assault the Provincial Joint Coordination Center in Karbala in January 2007. Five US soldiers were killed during the kidnapping attempt. The US soldiers were executed after US and Iraqi security forces closed in on the assault team.

The attack on the Karbala Provincial Joint Coordination Center was a complex, sophisticated operation. The assault team, led by tactical commander Azhar al Dulaimi (who was later killed by the US military), was trained in a mock-up of the center that was built in Iran. The unit had excellent intelligence and received equipment that made them appear to be US soldiers. Some of the members of the assault team are said to have spoken English. Aurelius’s post above brought up a point that really riled me…the fact that the Nigerian was read his Miranda Rights, was then able to “lawyer up” and shut up.

He should be treated like the terrorist he wanted to be and tried in a military court. And, this is all because Obama refuses to acknowledge the dangers that currently face this country.

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone!!! My wife and I aren’t typically very social, but this year we’re gathering a number of families together at our house to welcome in 2010 with a proper celebration.

Although I can’t say that 2009 was personally a very bad year (the tremendous stock market rally was very, very welcome), but it sure seemed a VERY stressful year. Much more than typical. Watching communists running amok in Washington DC probably had something to with that.

Anyway, I really hope everyone has a marvelous and safe New Year celebration this evening. We’ll get back to kicking the communist’s butts tomorrow.

The news on that bomber is still fuzzy. Supposedly the CIA was trying to “court” him as an information source. There was a possibility that he detonated the bomb when they initiated a search.

MP — I know exactly how you feel… it was a very stressful year for me… being at ground ZERO in DC with all the kool-aid drinking moonbats and drooling sycophants is taxing. However, each day I am seeing more glimmers of hope that this nation can be saved.

Unfortunately… I think many unit owners in my building rented to a substantial number of Chicago thuggery transplants (too many Illinois license plates in the garage and Obama stickers on the cars)… my 1-20-2013— hope for change bumper sticker surely pisses them off…except I suspect most don’t understand it.
It was a very depressing spring watching them move in… thankfully I have left the immediate area for points south… and a longer commute 3 days a week.

Have a happy new year and enjoy your friends.

BTW- kinda freaked me out earlier. I live in a suburb of little importance in SoCal, and today there were checkpoints to enter the city if you were driving any kind of large truck or van. Warren claims the $900,000 shortfall is the result of the days Christmas and New Year’s Day fell this year. Attendance the Sunday after Christmas apparently was down. Seems like all churches would be facing the same problem but I haven’t heard the priest at my parish asking for $900k.

Actually there is a church where I live that asked its members to get second mortgages on their homes to pay for a church expansion. It is one of the biggest churches out here now. Unbelievable! “Actually there is a church where I live that asked its members to get second mortgages on their homes to pay for a church expansion”

WHAT?? It’s one thing to ask for donations for expansion or to save the church or something, but to even suggest parishioners mortgages their homes over it??? If that doesn’t tell someone they are in the wrong place I don’t know what the hell would get through to them.

Something didn’t feel right, although I don’t remember now if I knew what it was that bothered me or just had that red flag feeling. I never told anyone, because it seemed almost sacriligious at the time, he seemed headed to be the next big Preacher like Billy Graham…I tend to be overly critical…sometimes I don’t know if I disagree w/someone for legitimate reasons or because by nature I’m a big old meanie.
