2009…what happened??

2009 December 31
by justrand

What REALLY happened??  And what’s going to happen?

Who was elected President?

  • An amateurish, ill-prepared ‘Chauncey Gardener?
  • The Manchurian Candidate?
  • A cross between Hugo Chavez, Jeremiah Wright and Saddam Hussein?
  • ???

What were/are the Tea Parties?

  • A true movement that will change the face of American politics?
  • A sop to the “chattering class”?
  • The hairline crack that will ultimately become an unbridgeable chasm…and lead to disunion?
  • ???

Which way the American public?

  • Will they indeed go quietly into the night…surrendering freedoms in exchange for handouts and “guarantees”?
  • Will they use 2010 to apply the brakes…and attempt to draw some kind of line in the metaphorical sand?
  • ????

What way our enemies?

  • Does the attempted bombing on Christmas day signal the Jihadis are tired of waiting for us to destroy ourselves (though we’re doing a fine job!), and have decided to start a new round of attacks?
  • Will the Chinese decide to pull the financial plug…and hasten our economic collapse? (and what of Taiwan)
  • Iran and Israel?  It’s “Sitzkreig” now…but for how long?
  • Russia, Venezuela, Cuba…the line forms on the Left (duh!)

2009 was a momentous year, and one future historians (if there are any) will look back on and probably lie about.  2010…fasten your seatbelts and put your tray tables in their upright and fully locked position.

Oh…and Happy New Year! 🙂

Ras is at -18 this morning, the third straight day it has dropped and it is headed toward -20 again. Most importantly, Obama’s strongly approve is 24, a new all-time low.

    http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

Imagine where his approval rate would be were it not for the fawning media. The media is our enemy. As I have often said, the best thing conservatives can do is to escalate the war with the media – to get it out in the open.

Sarah Palin seems to be one of the few who realizes this, often mockingly referring to it as the “Lame Stream Media.” If only the rest of the GOP were as astute.

If you replay Palin’s acceptance speech, you’ll find that her assessment of Obama was spot on. While McCain was reassuring America that Obama “would make a fine president,” Sarah was saying Obama “is not one of us,” not in reference to his race but rather to his political and cultural beliefs.

The “Most Admired Women” poll shows that Americans are waking up. Sarah ranked #1 not only with Republicans, but also with Independents. The fact that Michelle Obama was #4 shows people are no longer blindly following the media.

We need to turn the public’s questioning of the media into contempt and distrust.

Conservatives are better organized. We have a leader that 85% of us will unite behind. Better days are coming (if we can stop amnesty).

    Dear Friends,

2009 WOW and a request from MI Conservative.

I’ve been silent on here for a week or so.

I went to Phoenix with my 92 yr old mother for Christmas.

As we were preparing to return to MI she fell and broke her hip. She is going to have a long hard rehab but made it through surgery okay. Big problem is going to be to care for her in Phoenix and still work in Michigan

Please keep her in your prayers and keep fighting for all our seniors.

    Thanks,

    JVV

MI Conservative, I will indeed. May God bless and comfort her. And may we all work to ensure the country she and her generation saved through the Great Depression and WWII will survive and thrive.

    cheers, my friend.

There once was a sphincter named Specter,
Who had the charm of Hannibal Lector,
He says with a sneer ,
That goes from ear to ear,
“You knew that I was a defector.”

We didn’t finish out the year with one! IP, good verse.

What happened in 2009 was a portion of the American people came to their senses. Will it be enough to save the country?

No, not as it stands today. There are signs that people are resisting the Dems, and catching onto their plans and malevolent psy-war tactics.

Everything is up in the air. This nation will become what the people want it to be, and they are going to have to prove they really want to be free, if they intend to remain so.

I try to be open-minded (except for RINOs/sarc.) and can appreciate the contributions that people from various nationalities, races and religions have made to the success of our nation.

But, I truly have a difficult time understanding what benefit Muslims bring. I truly believe Mohammad was the son of Satan.

Well, many cultures adopt a religion that justifies their culture. Islam is one of those. It’s a made up religion like all the rest, intended to confirm the cultural practices of its believers.

There are only 2 religions on this earth, who call its adherents to a higher standard. Only 2 that call human nature depraved and require setting it aside, and putting in its place the God who made the universe. Only 2 who say “What you are is not enough, you must be made clean to know me.”

Judaism and Christianity. All the others are just out there telling people the way they see it is fine, and do as you have always done…

Now, some might say Christianity is the fulfillment of the promises of Judaism, we call them christians. 👿

    MI

Thoughts go out to you and your Mom. The fact she made it through her surgery, at 92, shows she still has recovery prowess. May you keep your own well being in the equation too, as a caregiver’s own health is oftentimes underplayed.

In other words, take care of yourself too, MI!

A thoughtful display of questions and multiple choice answers in the above post. I know what I mentally circled. It remains to be seen how the general public would respond.

On this last day of 2009, I want to thank JM and Justrand for starting and maintaining BJG this past year. It has filled a void and provided a space/outlet for regulars and irregulars to have meaningful discourse and a source for information-sharing — something that is oftentimes difficult to achieve in the everyday face-to-face world.

May 2010 provide some “correction” to the unfortunate choices made in 2009!

So sorry to hear of your troubles, MI Con. She must be made of some stern stuff to get around so well at 92, and to do so well in surgery.

    Prayers for both of you…

Grabbed this from an HHR post. Sort of intriguing….!

Acting Gov. and outgoing Senate President Richard Codey (D-Roseland) penned a letter to U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano today asking her to resign based on her response to the attempted bombing of a U.S. airliner.
