Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life

— Oscar Wilde

In what appears to be rip from the past, “Solyent Green” was released in 1973, there is now a new riot control truck on the market. This truck is compromised of a carrier, a shield for PoPo to hide behind and a tanker for water canon deployment OR tear gas spray. The kicker? It can be piloted remotely.

This sucker is made in Slovenia for the purported purpose of riot control. I don’t know about the street situations in that country, but here in the USA it would be a non-starter. Except for the old alleyways in colonial cities, most streets here are bordered by parking aisles, then trees, then sidewalks. Any perps could just step aside, let the vehicle pass, then fire bomb the thing from the rear. Never fear though, I sure some LEO idiot will crank up a federal grant and buy one.

Just in case your jackbooted Neighborhood Watch is truly interested, here is the firms pitch video —

To quote a line from “Big Jake” — ‘You must take me for an extremely dangerous man…’

It might be easier to just fence in places like Ferguson and just drop the perps in it.

actually, it could work if the police had the will to use it properly

I was attending UCLA in 1970 when a massive “Anti-War” was held. Thousands of “students” and even more professional rioters/protesters

They wound up setting fire to the ROTC building attached to the gym, and beating a security guard senseless (VERY “peaceful” people)

I was watching all this from up on the hill near the library, and here is how the LAPD handled it then:

Step 1: as LAPD buses arrived down near the gym, along with regular school buses, other LAPD began herding the “protesters” down from the upper parts of UCLA towards the huge open area near the gym

Step 2: a line of LAPD officers with full head & body gear, padded gloves, and extra lengths clubs formed up and advanced towards the crowd. The clubs were held horizontal and overlapped. Groups of LAPD “skirmishers” were walking behind the front line of officers

Step 3: the protesters would either charge, or would simply be eventually forced against those behind them…either way they came in direct contact with the front line, whereupon the officers each pivoted and OPENED the line momentarily to allow dozens through.

Step 4: the front line pivoted back to close the line and began walking slowly backwards

Step 5: the “skirmishers” hog-tied all the “protesters”, and dumped them on the school buses…which drove off and MORE buses arrived. Once all those were hauled off the LAPD went back to Step 2 again

Steps 2-5 were repeated for about half and hour, whereupon even the dim-witted crowd began to realize they were being hauled off by the hundreds…and so they scattered in every direction that wasn’t barred to them…which end the “demonstration”.

The PoPo didn’t swing any batons that day…but they DID exhibit huge balls!

And the action behind the front-line was EXACTLY like a rodeo. ..with the “Protesters” playing the part of the cattle (and occasionally the part of rodeo clowns).

The only thing missing that day was an announcer saying:
And now, coming out of chute #2…

Indeed…the real threat has NOTHING to with the Russians, as evidenced by the fact that the Democrats say “Russia” or “Putin” every 10 seconds.

Speaking of violence, Carnival Cruise Lines and Holland America have dropped Acapulco as a port-of-call because of violence.

From the 1920s until recently Acapulco was Mexico’s premier resort.

If you are a college student today, you better KNOW that the scales of justice are no longer used on campuses

Folks if you have not read the link in #7, do so. It nicely details the manure pile.

Free speech is a thing of the past on college campuses. My daughter was very careful what she said/wrote and Central Michigan isn’t all that radical (by today’s standards).

Today, like liberals everywhere, college administrators and instructors promote blind emotional actions rather tham rational thought. They don’t want students doing research because of what they might discover )black crime and illegitimacy rates, the burdon of illegal immigration, Islamic terrorism, Sharia law, etc. You see, facts can be racist.

If Charles Murray is that far off base, wouldn’t it be better to let him ralk and expose him with facts? No, better to convince young, impressionable minds that anyone who opposed the liberal agenda is sexist, racissst, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, etc.

Poetic justice? Swedish feminists who pushed for increaswing the number of Muslim migrants are being forced out of their neighborhoods, which have become too violent because of Muslim migrants.

McConnell would be smart to goad Schumer and dems into a filibuster.

He keeps projecting confidence that he has the votes, but politically it would be very helpful to see the dems filibuster. Also it would be helpful to nuke it so that if there happens to be another opening it would be an easier fight.

    Tester supports filibuster.

Make that 6 democrats left 😛

52 republicans + 3 democrats who support Gorsach +/-6 remaining democrats.

That means if 2 of the remaining 6 support the filibuster then republicans have to nuke?

Actually huffpost has a full breakdown.

    I forgot the squishy category

    SQUISHY (2)*

    Sen. Ben Cardin (Md.)

    Sen. Patrick Leahy (Vt.)

*These senators have hinted that they’ll vote with Republicans to end the filibuster, but then vote against Gorsuch’s confirmation. But they’re still mostly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Middle pic… but you all knew that already.

24 – Yup… but something tells me Chuck will arrange only 40 no’s on cloture, but only if he doesn’t think Turtle has the balls, and I’m not sure Turtle does have the balls (or the 50+1 to change). We’ll see.

    7 – Correct.
BTW rumor ciculating tonight Rice’s name was on the unmask request, don’t know if it’s true but if it is I correct in some twitter poll I took friday on who kicked it off with unmasking – I went with the easy choice of who would make a good fall-guy… same person who was made a fall-guy before. 😉

“… but politically it would be very helpful to see the dems filibuster. ”

Politically maybe. Tactically on the SCOTUS, no way. In an 4-4 configuration every position taken by SCOTUS that is a tie means that the lower court ruling stands.

  28. 2017 April 3 7:47 am

“… but politically it would be very helpful to see the dems filibuster. ”

Only as it it would allow the public to see who the obstructionists are,
thereby justifying our side to use the nuke option.

to chat with the drop dead, gorgeous flight attendant:

    “What is your name?”

    Flight Attendant: “Angela Benz, sir”

Businessman: “Lovely name, any relation to Mercedes Benz?”

Flight Attendant: “Yes sir, very close”

    Businessman: “How close?”

    Flight Attendant: “Same price”.
