Democrats Play Identity Politics at SOTU

2018 January 29
by bc3b

We talked about the Democrats hating working class Americans and being consumed with identity politics. Nowhere is this more evident than the comparison of Donald and Melina Trump’s guests to the Democrats for the State of the Union.

The Trumps’ guests include actual heroes who saved people’s lives, families of murder victims, people who established non-profits to help people in need and working class Americans taking advantage of the tax cut. By contrast, the Democrats’ guest list includes a Marine veteran whose major claim to fame is being transgendered, felons and families of felons and those in the country illegally.

Like their voter base, the Democrats invitees don’t include normal working class patriots who pay their taxes, follow the nation’s laws, love and respect their country and help others in need.

On Monday, President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania announced their special guests at the President’s first State of the Union address on Tuesday:

  • The parents of two young women, Nisa Mickens and Kayla Cuevas, friends who were brutally murdered by MS-13 gang members.
  • The first blind, double-amputee to reenlist in the Marine Corps, Corporal (Ret.) Matthew Bradford, who had been injured by an IED explosion while serving in Iraq.
  • The founder of a non-profit rescue and recovery organization that has provided aid to thousands of people across the South victimized by floods and storms, including Hurricane, Jon Bridgers.
  • Fire prevention technician David Dahlberg who saved 62 children from a raging wildfire in Southern California.
  • Police Officer Ryan Holets, who has served six years on the force in Albuquerque, New Mexico, been shot twice and, along with his wife, adopted a baby from parent who suffered from opioid addiction.
  • Coast Guard Aviation Technician Ashlee Leppert who rescued dozens of Americans during last year’s devastating hurricane season.
  • Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agen Celestino “CJ” Martinez, whose investigations have led to arrests of more than 100 MS-13 gang members who have been prosecuted for crimes, including homicide, assault, narcotics and weapons trafficking.
  • U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Justin Peck, who was directly responsible for saving Chief Petty Officer Stacy’s life after Stacy was severely injured during an explosion in Syria last year.
  • A veteran’s son, Preston Sharp, who has organized the placement of more than 40,000 flags and red carnations on soldiers’ graves, in honor of their service to the country.
  • The president and vice president of Staub Manufacturing Solutions, a contract manufacturing company, who gave increased bonuses to their employees, thanks to last year’s tax reform legislation.
  • A skilled welder, Corey Adams, who, with his wife, became first-time homeowners and invested extra money into their daughters’ education savings as a result of tax reform.

Meanwhile, Democrats’ guests at the State of the Union include:

  • Illegal aliens brought as guests by House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-California) and other Democrats,
  • A transgender Marine Corp veteran who opposes Pres. Trump’s efforts to ban transgenders from U.S. military service,
  • The wife of an Iraqi man living in Michigan who was convicted of a weapons charge, spent two years in prison, and ordered deported in 1994, who was arrested and detained by immigration officials in 2017 – and who is leading a class-action suit against the U.S. government’s effort to deport detainees, and
  • The daughter of a man deported after being criminally convicted in 1997 of knowingly possessing false identification to defraud the United States, who was detained and ordered deported in October of 2017 after illegally returning to the U.S.

Illegal aliens brought as guests by House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-California) and other Democrats,

The wife of an Iraqi man living in Michigan who was convicted of a weapons charge, spent two years in prison, and ordered deported in 1994, who was arrested and detained by immigration officials in 2017 – and who is leading a class-action suit against the U.S. government’s effort to deport detainees, and

Both should be arrested upon arrival, the first for being in the country illegally, and the second for not following his deportation order.

Fact that neither is happening shows swamp still rules supreme.

This daca framework (no matter if it’s a bs ploy or not), reminds me of sotu 2005, and the resulting disaster for GWB of cir attempt 1.0 late that spring, and the wheels really came off after that – Let that be a lesson for you Donald, I’d say congress two but clearly they’ve not learned a god damn thing in 13 years – it’s why Trump is potus atm.

Early reports Saudi (and US ) backed government of Yeman has fallen completely, I was going to mention this yesterday but situation seemed unclear with gov still seemingly hanging on by slim thread yesterday.
Southern ‘resistance’ forces have taken full control of government buildings and banks in Aden today though, Hadi is reportedly now in exile in SA after presidential complex taken.

Increasingly looks like secession – a north\south yemen may happen.

JBoz, that trembling Nancy clip was fun…but really was Nancy at her BEST!

Yesterday Nancy said: “The tax cut is a DARK CLOUD HANGING OVER THE ECONOMY”

They played the “Dark cloud” clip on Fox & Friends this morning while Kelly Ann Conway was on. Jelly Ann’s response: “I’m going to send her some vitamins with note asking her to live a long time and stay as on as the leader of the Democrat Party!” LOL

    A puzzle explained at PL
Here’s a puzzler for you: the number of civilian federal employees is actually smaller than it was when John F. Kennedy was president. This anomaly is explained by one of the smarter liberals around, John DiIulio, in his provocative book Bring Back the Bureaucrats. I say let’s not do that, but DiIulio does reveal that since government is vastly bigger than it was when Kennedy was president, there must be some funny business going on. And indeed there is: government has outsourced bureaucracy to private contractors. It’s a way of paying what are essentially federal workers a lot more than if they were officially civil servants.

The only sociopolitical element is the inference that “Social Progress” – this constant following of the “market place” truths will end up with mankind justifying their own existence and loosing sight that they are imperfect. From that unfortunate vantage point, they have “progressed” to the point where their downfall is the only possible fate.

The implication, then, is that those who build a life based on the truths of the Gods of the Copybook Headings will do wisely and avoid destruction. What is unclear is whether Kipling believed men capable of following the truths of the Gods of the Copybook Headings or whether he had a more cynical view of mankind and believed we are all meant to “learn the hard way” and return to them after having ignored them [universal truth, natural law] at our peril.”

History doesn’t repeat, but it rhymes and every few hundred years wealth, power and fashionable marketplace ideas rise to greatness and crash and burn. Mesopotamia, Persia, Macedonia, Greece, Roman Empire, Byzantium, Mongolian Empire, Ming Dynasty, Ottoman Empire, Hapsburg Empire, French-Bourbon Monarchy, British Empire, Third Reich, Soviet Union, and United States of America.

In these modern times, the West’s unsustainable “ideas of the marketplace” steadily march toward reckoning day. In the United States, the empire upon which the entire global financial fiat-money scheme is centered, the state has erected itself as a welfare/warfare entity, defying natural law in a myriad of ways.

As we (Americans) “progressed” away from principles of self-determination and self-reliance, we’ve bought into the marketplace ideas of dependence and expectation of comfort, luxury, opportunity and entitlement only the state can promise to provide. We’ve chosen to value positive rights over protecting our negative rights, or natural rights. The Gods of the Marketplace are convincing, persuasive and full of promises they’re unable to keep (the government doesn’t even collect enough tax revenue to cover the costs of endless wars, mandatory entitlement programs and interest on the debt; we’ll eventually default or drastically cut the cord for the dependent class, which will not be pretty).

Everything about this situation screams unsustainable, but the Gods of the Marketplace continue to promise, and we continue to listen not to nature, but to them. They’re hustlerspeddlers and scheming opportunists now as they’ve always been. So goes mankind marching toward its destruction once more. In the end, perhaps that’s all we really understand.

    Not mine, but it resonates.

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Tet Offensive when 40,ooo Vietcong and NVA soldiers Attacked US forces across South Vietnam, including the Marine Base at Khe Sahn, the city of Hue, and the US Embassy in Saigon. Major victories were achieved by the American forces, but public opinion turned against the war through fake news reporting by Walter Cronkite and his fellow broadcaster traitors. Thus began the consequential year of 1968.

Later that year, the American experience saw the assassinations of MLK and Robert Kennedy, the riots of the Democratic Convention, the black power protests at the Olympics, and a host of other events. Laugh In and 60 Minutes debuted on television.,and Apollo 8 circled the moon.

All told, President Trumps tweets and Devin Nunes memo seem pretty tame.

1968 was my last year of a two year tour of duty in California, before shipping out to Thailand and Taiwan. I count myself fortunate to have avoided and survive that tumultuous year. 2018 seems calm in comparison.

Mullet, estimates range as high as 50,000 dead among the NVA & VC…and we lost 1,100.

The most lopsided American military VICTORY in our history…portrayed by the traitorous media as a DEFEAT.

In his memoirs General Giap wrote that he was considering suing for peace…until he saw the propaganda being spewed by the American media AGAINST America. Thousands more Americans would die because of Walter Cronkite.

JBoz – #18 – civilizations rise and civilizations fall. People will continue on after the collapse. Saw a youtube video on the collapse of complex societies (the guy interviewed is an expert on complex societies). People will go on BUT a whole lot less (he estimated that 10’s of millions if not 100’s of millions will die in a very short period of time – within months). That is how it plays out in complex societies. Look how few people are in the production of food (farmers). Not going to end well.

At the SOTU the Democrats wanted to portray them as “unified in resistance”…but instead came across as PETULANT and PETTY Politicians.

==> “Steny Hoyer and Nancy Pelosi watching Trump’s speech looked like a pair of sullen six-year olds on a sugar crash the day after Halloween. Bernie Sanders looked mummified. Schumer was slumped so deeply in his chair he was almost falling through the crack.

Other Democrats, even ones who should have known better or secretly felt otherwise, sat on their hands. You could see them glancing at each other, wondering whether they were allowed to applaud or stand up. What a bunch of cowards.

Chuck Schumer is far more visible to the American public than Harry Reed was and, while Reed looked like a sweet old grandfather type, Schumer looks like a crooked used car dealer.

My suggestion for the GOP is that they label vulnurable Democratic senators like Claire McCaskill and Heidi Heitkamp as “Schumer’s Puppets” and ask the votes what do you want – New York liberal values or Missouri/North Dakota values?

As I have said before, the GOP needs to go for the jugular by convincing voters the Democrats are the party of identity politics and hates working class Americans and I believe Schumer can be its albotross.

    Good article, and spot-on analysis:

==> The Democrats loathe the tax reform that has kick-started the American economy. They abhor the return of American manufacturing and the bonuses so many companies have doled out to their employees. It was not so long ago that Obama essentially swore that “those jobs are never coming back.” “Crumbs,” billionaire Pelosi called their bonuses. The left today hates our military. They hate the notion of national security. Like Obama, they cannot abide the unfair advantage, as they see it, of American might, American success, and American freedom which they are always trying to impede, to restrict, to regulate and tax. The left has been doing its best to turn the United States into Venezuela for two generations. Progressivism is socialism. Venezuela is how it ends.

Actually, the Democrats are going out of their way to convince Americans of those FACTS…the people just need to pay attention. I pray some will.

Meanwhile, the media (all except FoxNews…until Shepherd Smith comes on) are going 24×7 to convince the American people to believe THEM, and not their “Lyin’ eyes & ears” regarding the speech.
