Ingraham to Trump: Stand Up to Republicans

The $1.3-trillion Omnibus bill is more of the same from Republicans. There’s continued funding for Planned Parenthood, sanctuary cities and the Affordable Care Act, the New York-New Jersey tunnel and who knows what else is tucked into its 2,200+ pages but very little finding for the border wall (and specifics as to how funding for border security will be spent).

It’s not what voters had in mind when when they voted for Congressional Rep[ublicans or Donald Trump.

The worst part is that Trump seems to be going along with Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. Laura Ingraham urged Trump to stand up to Congressional Republicans on her TV show last night.

Laura Ingraham said President Trump is appearing to consent to the passage of a $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill championed by GOP leadership.

The bill, more than two thousand pages long, is up for debate this week ahead of a government funding deadline.

Ingraham said the Republicans are combining with Democrats and consider the huge bill “business as usual” on Capitol Hill, in opposition to the principles Trump pushed as a candidate.

A small fraction of the bill is devoted to border security, while Planned Parenthood and sanctuary cities continue to be funded.

“[Trump] won [by] calling out the establishment,” Ingraham said. “Where did ‘that’ Donald Trump go?”

Ingraham said the spending bill is forcing America to further borrow money from Germany, China and Japan.

“Take this opportunity tonight to challenge the GOP leadership,” Ingraham said.

She added that, after hearing initial criticisms of the bill, Trump called Republican leaders Rep. Paul Ryan and Sen. Mitch McConnell to the White House, but afterward appeared to agree with their support for the bill.

Ingraham said that he should instead “stand up” to the leadership, and promise not to sign the bill unless it includes full funding for the border wall and “total defunding of sanctuary cities.”

She added that Trump’s announcement should include a call for Democrats to promise to hold hearings to confirm dozens of appointees lacking confirmation.

I am ashamed to admit it, but I was happy in 2012 when Romney named Ryan as his running mate. Little did I know ….

Yeah, Trump will get what he can, but the Swamp is deep and entrenched.

For now, the Trump Admin has resisted by … just not spending the money (shades of the Nixon “impound” strategy). Dems and activists and GOPe gearing up to launch warfare and force the spending to occur.

Reddit looks to find ways to make people doing something legal to be marginalized and inconvenienced.
Reddit: “We want to let you know that we have made a new addition to our content policy forbidding transactions for certain goods and services … Firearms, ammunition, or explosives.”

Good catch from “Sam” on Twitter who explains that “the subreddit r/GunDeals merely posts and links to gun retail websites that are fully FFL compliant.”

WTF??? The GOP has the majority, why do we need the dems.
There is no filibuster on spending bills, why do we cave in?

There once was a potus named trump,
Who we had hoped the left he would dump,
But alas and alack the shark he did jump,
And the pooch he did hump,
And once again we take it in the rump.

Simple answer. McConnell, Ryan & Company want the same things the Democrats want.

    10 IP,

Even with favorable 2018 elections. The GOP will lose Congress. Let the impeachment hearings begin.

13 – On that front, today Trump’s lead counsel resigned, just after he said publicly that he would love to meet with mueller, or that was the snippet I just heard. My guess is he’s tired of the president not following advice of legal counsel.

“Trump is starting to flame out”

Quick question: is it time to give up on Trump permanently and his apparent plan to get what he can regarding Budget from the GOPe/Dem alliance? Or to hold his feet to the fire and get him to push back much more strongly (I think he said he will sign the bill since it funds the military).

If the first, then I guess it is time to fall back to Plan B– give up expecting any big political gains from elections, make ourselves better people and wait for a chance to present itself?

Deplorable Don Surber notes that Citi Bank signed on the human rights campaign amicus brief which sided with lbgq activists against Christian bakers.
So for them to restrict their banking services based on guns is at best hypocritical

Every time I see Citi I want to replace the C with Sh.

    Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

I am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in Bill) and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded.

    Once more into the breach:

Trump is his name, snake oil is his game,
A flim flam man seeking his fame,
A stirrer of passions ever so keen,
A lifelong liberal behind the scene,
Conning the masses with populous bullshit,
He has all the charm of a muzzi armpit,
Using the persona of a gold plated dog turd,
He counts on the gullibility of the unwashed herd,
peel away the crap from this two bit charlatan,
You will find a genuine dime store harlequin.

To quote the bard of jefferson:

“F@ck ’em all…including Trump if he signs this”
