Trump Pulls Plug on Iran

It took Barack Obama eight years to build his legacy. It’s taken Donald Trump less than 15 months to negate much of it. And, what he hasn’t already destroyed, he’s working on.

President Donald Trump will withdraw the U.S. from the 2015 Iranian nuclear agreement, he announced Tuesday.

Trump will reimpose devastating economic sanctions on Iran in a bid to force the regime back to the negotiating table for a new agreement. The president has long railed against the 2015 nuclear agreement noting its lack of perpetual ban on a nuclear program and how it fails to address the Islamic Republic’s malign activity across the middle east.

“This was a horrible deal that should never, ever have been made,” Trump declared. National Security Advisor John Bolton continued to reporters “We’re out of the deal.”

The new deal the president will seek would not have a similar “sunset clause” which ceases restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program and would also address the regime’s ballistic missile program. Iran has continued to test and deploy ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads, despite signing the deal.

The White House released a list of demands following the President’s speech:

  •  Never have an ICBM, cease developing any nuclear-capable missiles, and stop proliferating ballistic missiles to others.

o Cease its support for terrorists, extremists, and regional proxies, such as Hizballah, Hamas, the Taliban, and al-Qa’ida.

o End its publicly declared quest to destroy Israel.

o Stop its threats to freedom of navigation, especially in the Persian Gulf and Red Sea.

o Cease escalating the Yemen conflict and destabilizing the region by proliferating weapons to the Houthis.

o End its cyber-attacks against the United States and our allies, including Israel.

o Stop its grievous human rights abuses, shown most recently in the regime’s crackdown against widespread protests by Iranian citizens.

o Stop its unjust detention of foreigners, including United States citizens.

    “Clean up Aisle 6!”

Barring anything else (which appears will be many if the Korean situation is evidence) that will be Trump’s legacy as president.

More good news: The owner Salt Lake Tribune has ordered staff cuts and a review of shrinking its print edition in light of continued losses in circulation and advertising revenues.

You bring up a good point. At this point Trump has best I can guess surpassed Reagan in number of campaign promises acted on.

As to the Euros, well hell let them air drop the next pallet load of tribute at their own expense. I am still surprised at how little flac domestically was issued over our $$ air drop to Iran.

LDS ending 105 year alliance with Boy Scouts:

Ouch, that’s gonna hurt. In 2013 437,000 of 2,3000,000 Boy Scouts were Mormon. That’s 19%. Better load up on gays, trannies and girls.

Yet more proof of world wide gov’t stupidity as reported in SANS computer security email newsletter.

Last week, Russia’s state censor blocked access to more than 50 VPNs and proxy services in that country. The action was taken in an effort to prevent Russian citizens’ from accessing the Telegram messaging app, which was formally banned last month. Roskomnadzor initially banned Telegram’s known IP addresses, and when Telegram began switching their IP addresses, Roskomnadzor subsequently inadvertently blocked millions of Amazon and Google Cloud IP addresses. That action caused massive service outages in Russia and was discontinued after a week and a half.

10 – That’s what is so annoying about how horrible that deal was… they got the 153 BBBBillion basically all up front in first 18mo, no tranches over time, we can’t get it back. Might as well stop feeding their economy with $ and maybe to a little extent euros (even if they say they’ll cooperate with us you know eu will cheat – that’s what kerry’s shit was all about), since they do double digit billions in trade atm and we do I think less than 500million.

15 – eek… then again it’s not all that new consider excel\word ms-office suite macro and vb\js scripting engines been part of the product for decades – part of the power of both products. Funny though given all the effort and pain they previous went though to lock some of that stuff down after the the fact only to seemingly open the door again.
